    I have 2011 vitz and my rpm when idle is 750 but when the AC is on it's almost to 900 is it normal and also the fan is really high for my liking . Is that normal ?

    • @ShelDockToyotaVitz
      @ShelDockToyotaVitz  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes it is normal. Remember the AC adds stress on the engine and this stress would reduce the 750 rpm to critical levels causing engine vibration. To counteract this effect manufacturers increased the rpm so that vibration never happens.

    How i can keep rpm above 700

    • @ShelDockToyotaVitz
      @ShelDockToyotaVitz  Před 3 lety

      The ECM is set to allow the engine to idle at the lowest rpm and still allows smooth running of the engine. Unless you get someone who have a very expensive scan tool that can edit the manufacturer rpm. Not wise to do this though.

    my question if alternator output voltage is lower than normal at engine idle, would the engine have vibration or not? assuming that battery is fully charged. plz answer

    • @ShelDockToyotaVitz
      @ShelDockToyotaVitz  Před rokem

      Once the vehicle is operating well the alternator power output is sufficient for the vehicle.

    • @ShelDockToyotaVitz
      @ShelDockToyotaVitz  Před rokem

      If voltage is reduced at the alternator it could mean that you have a alternator problem because the alternator maintains a constant voltage during all engine operation.

      @@ShelDockToyotaVitz thank you for the reply. what is the alternator voltage range when engine is idling during battery fully charged or while charging? car is toyota corolla 2010 model

      @@inamrehman8709 The battery is 12 volts when the engine is not running but when the engine is running the alternator even though it is a 12 volts alternator if you use a volt meter to check it you will get 18 volts.

      @@ShelDockToyotaVitz Hi.
      last time my multimter was faulty.
      I used another multimeter, here is the voltage reading.
      1- on engine idling = 13.41
      2- on engine idling + head light on = 13.13
      3-on engine idling + head light on + AC on= 12.80
      problem is that egine lack power and performance. on idling engine vibrates. drive in first gear is very sluggish.
      should I replace the alternator? or look for other things to daignose?
      thanks in advance

      P1550 is a error code to indicate your battery current sensor is malfunctioning.
      Solution is to change this part

      The electronic battery sensor is connected to the positive terminal of you battery.

      Well I fixed it thanks... The old mechanic had installed the battery current sensor in floating position.. It should have been around the negative cable of the battery
