- This is my long-term review of the DJI Air 3. This drone has more than exceeded my expectations when it comes to the performance and quality of video and photos it can capture. It has all the powerful intelligent flight features that both new and professional pilots can use to capture incredible content. In this video, I share my thoughts on the DJI Air 3 after flying it for the past 6 months.

the air 3 is a great drone, I had the mini 3 pro and then I got the air3 and I was blown away, sure if you live in Canada you need an extra step to be able to fly it freely but it is worth it. The air 3 is just in another league, it's very powerful, fast and the 3x telephoto camera unleashes a new level of creativity. Good job dji.
I also upgrate from mini3pro to air3😊
@@ThelonerangerinMexico do you have any regret ?
Hello I just got the mini 3. Live in Vancouver. What is the extra step in Canada that you mention for this? Get certified? Thanks
The Air 3 is my go to drone. And the 3x Tele camera is the killer feature. Great review Shawn. Thanks for sharing.
As always I enjoyed the review my brother. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on the weight loss. Looking great.. great video, I have all Air models. Love the Air 3 the most, and like more that the Mini 3pro
nice review, question: do you need or used any filters in your videos please?
I'm looking at getting an Air 3. I loved this video. Very detailed and delivered beautifully. Thank you! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you very much. You definitely will not be disappointed if you go with the air 3
I like the Air 3 for all of the reasons/features you have highlighted here, Shawn. At least for now, the addition of the Air 3 to my Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro makes me feel that my needs are covered. Thanks for all your great content, and cheers from Wisconsin, U.S.A.
Indeed, I think it’s the perfect drone for many people
Oh man, that abandoned ship looked cool as hell!
Can you do portrait mode on the 3x lens?
I still fly the 1st generation mavic pro and fpv drone but I am looking for an upgrade soon to either this air 3 or the mp4, they both look like fantastic!
Hi, thanks for the informative review, I am considering this drone for inspections of external facades up to 100m off the ground, what is close up zoom performance, would I be able to zoom in on cracks in surfaces or separation of building elements .?. Thanks in advance.
Looks like a great option!
Great review i had the air 3 for a few weeks and i love it
Nice 👍
Agree, it's a great looking drone Shawn!
Indeed. I actually prefer to fly it over my Mavic 3
great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Still torn between getting a air 3 or the new mini 4 pro
Getting one next month, cant wait.
U get it?
Good long term review Shaun
Thanks Lyn
Does the Air 3 have a built in Remote ID?
Great video, and excellent shots 🔥 - Were your video samples shot in DLOG and graded? Or did you shoot them in normal? Also, do you use ND Filters?
They were all shot in normal mode, default settings. When I edit, I throw over a lut at about 20% strength. I very rarely use ND filters. Only if I’m doing low fast flying. When you’re up in the air you don’t really get the effect of an ND. I should’ve made point of that in the video I did with my mini 4 long-term review. But I forgot to mention it in this one.
@@AirPhotography That’s excellent - thank you. Really appreciate the informative reply. Think I need to keep practicing with mine so that I can get close to those kind of shots!
I have a mini 3 but that's my dream to have a Air 3 and you just confirm my choice 👍
I sold all my drones and no longer create content but I still support this channel! 👍
I appreciate that! Thank you
you should do the mini 4pro
I feel I screwed up buying the Mavic Air 2 and not waiting for the 2S. There's so much noise in my low light photo that's is really unusable. I'm not sure if the Air 3 will have an "S" variant or a Pro version.
Thanks for this. Do you tink there will be an Air3S or Pro?
I am more than sure! I bet for 1'' sensor 😊
Glad I watched this and found out the Air 3 added the 360 active tracking. I almost got a Mini 4 just to have that, but would rather have the Air 3!
Did you do or are you planning a full review on the Mavic 3 series? Why did DJI give up on the Mavic 3 in favor of the Classic and the Pro?
what do you mean by they gave up?
Thanks for the review Man! I'm looking to upgrade from my Mini 3 to the Air 3, and this video helped me get onboard with that idea! The Mini 3 is a great drone but, I'm looking for better speed, greater signal strength, and greater zoom in 4K. I honestly think the Mini 2 had a better 2x zoom than the Mini 3, and better signal strength.
Thanks Again for this Video! Keep Up the Great Work!
Thank you 😊
Brilliant thanks, I've got one and I love it. Oh, your looking slim and fit, well done, keep it up.
Thank you very much
I keep thinking about getting one but think ill wait awhile...pretty happy with the mini 3 pro still..
I want to get another Mini 2 since it doesn't have that spyware 👍
@@andre1987eph i like flying with the goggles and motion controller..
This is a awesome review by any chance do you get the DJI mavic pro 3😊
Yes, I do have mavic 3 pro. I had the original Mavic three, but I sold it when I got the pro model
In the warmer months I've been getting up to 41 minutes in low-wind conditions of flight time. This is my third drone and I cannot be happier with it. The thing is Rock solid. It's very aware of its surroundings and I've never crashed It (knock on wood)
That’s awesome thank you for sharing your user experience 😊
Hi..the footage we see in the first minute or two here...are they straight out of the box or shot in raw and edited?
They were shot in auto on the drone and while editing. I just dropped a default lut on. It had about 30% to make it pop a little. I don’t really do much grading
No lagging lockon with sats especially with RC2 ... And now with C1 for Europe means it can fly in more places than the now legacy Air2S. Three batteries in the combo pack are more than enough for flying. And then charge up on my Ecoflow River Mini. Would like to try the goggles!
Air2s just got that C1 😁
Im currently on the Mini 3 Pro, like it so far, its just great to be able to carry it anywhere. The Air 3 is great but I am waiting for an S version with a bigger main sensor as the image of the A3 itself would look fairly similar to the M3P, just no zoom and a little better software.
Same here 😊
2:55 tbh i think it's better to just record in full 16:9 but with the "3'rds" lines active.
Then the vertical lines pretty well approximates what the 9:16 format will look like.
Then you have all the footage in 1 file, just crop in post for IG/TikTok.
Way too messy to record 2 times for different aspect ratios, you might not be able to recreate that moment.
I am looking into getting a new drone I am stuck between the mavic pro 3 and the air 3. I will be traveling and use it for everything. Any suggestions or help?
I have the same confusion ; I recently got the M3Pro , but am seeing rave reviews about A3. The M3Pro 3 camera system along with wide angle 1 inch HB sensor is great for low light . But A3 stack sensor is not far behind. So it’s a difficult decision. Any help / suggestions will be appreciated
Do you think it's better than Air 2S if you think only from a photography point? The sensor is smaller, if you shoot with the full resolution and resize it to 20mp what will be the result?
I’m not much of a photographer, so it’s really hard for me to comment too much on that. I think both drones are excellent. I don’t know if there’d be much of a difference,
@@AirPhotography thank you for the honest reply.
Great points covered 7:36
Thanks, Eddie
air 3 is a awsome drone
Indeed, it is
Hi. do you leave drone settings of air3 sharpness and noise on 0 value?
Yes, I always just leave the default values. For the most part I’m pretty happy with the way it is.
-2 for sharpness
when is AIR 4 coming out
I am curious about this as well. I wonder what new drones we will see this year
I was planning on getting the Air 3, but am holding off to see if DJI is going to end up being banned in the U.S.
I love Air.. can afford it right now 😂
What if I fly a drone>250g and dont register it in a country who needs to? How do they know i’m flying it
They wouldn’t unless you crashed or cause an issue and the FAA checks the device Remote ID. If you fly in the middle of nowhere you’d likely never have an issue as long as it’s not a protected area with restrictions or something.
I can't wait to see 2024 minimalist Gopro kit
I never made one this year. I used to do that every January, but I skipped it this year
Ok, I will wait next January.
Limit 120m in EU?
In my country serbia no limit restrictions
Even your fingers are skinny
Keep up the great work
Lol thank you very much 😊
Air 2 S will still get better still than the Air 3 - 1 inch 20mp on the A2s is a deal breaker for me. I'm sticking with the Air 2s for now.
6:33. PS: Sean almost as thin as me now 👍 🤣
😃
2.7k isnt even whats shown on social media its max 1080p so i find it funny that its a huge complaint people make.
The battery life on the rc2 sucks though. 3 batteries if your lucky.
Interesting. On the mini 4 Pro, and all kit fully charged, I can go through all 5 of my batteries (249's), and still have a bar or two on the RC2.
This or the mavic 3 pro which is worth it, anyone ???
I think the air three is the perfect drone for most people. The Hasselblad camera on the Mavic 3 and that seven times zoom is nice but I think the air 3 is the perfect choice for many
The drone I should have purchased instead of the Mavic 3 Pro.
Why? I loved my mavic 3. Whats the drawback for you?
I got the whole kit qith the rc2 remote for 200 bucks brand spanking new online. No I won't tell anybody how I did it bc it took me 6 months to figure it out
Yikes that is a great deal
@@AirPhotography u aint joking and I was saving up for a mavic 3 pro. I like this air 3 more then a mavic 3 pro honestly. Pretty much looks the same sometimes
so why is this a long term review? its no different from the day 1 reviews.
Then don’t watch?? Simple. Why complain. The thing is yes sometimes they are different. Products get improved. Problems are found. My Mavic 3 30 day review is night and day difference from my six-month long-term review. Completely different.
@@AirPhotography ok im sorry for being so abrupt. Let me be more constructive. When i was browsing for a video i wanted to know what the drone was like, in your opinion after owning one for 6 - 7 months. I expected topics like - Do i still fly it as often? What have ai learned? Do i regret the purchase? How does it fare in terms of longevity over time, such as has there been any battery degredation or have the motors shown any sign of issues? Ultimately i wanted to know if it was a good investment after some time - every other video is like " here are the features" which if someone was searching for that they can get it anywhere - I thought your video would have had more of this kind of stuff.
Again - I dont mean to discourage you - I love watching content. I just wanted the content you had suggested in the title.
I recon the Air 3S is right around the corner
😂😂
I wish DJI would standardize their batteries like Power tool companies Dewalt Milwaukee etc have their 12V and 20V lines across dozens of different tools. WE should force DJI to do this. As I stands, they are selling us batteries, not drones.
But how? Drones are completely different sizes. How would a mavic fly with a mini 4 battery and vice versa? Bigger drones need bigger batteries unless you want 10 minute flight times…
"long term review" for a drone released half a year ago..🤦
And….? Six months is a long time to get to know a piece of equipment, I also do one at a year for all hardware. You shouldn’t let little things like this cause you so much tension that’s not very healthy.
6months is a long time for tech.
If you gave people each a bar of gold, there's always someone who would find a way to complain about it
@@Uppermost_1”Is that it? Only one bar of gold?”
🚁 While I appreciate the DJI Air 3’s impressive telephoto lens and the convenience of its USB-C charging system that also serves as a power bank, I’m particularly drawn to creating cinematic content around specific subjects, like buildings or statues, using the spotlight feature. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue that’s affecting my shots. When using spotlight to lock onto a subject, there’s a noticeable shift in the frame a few seconds after selection. This happens right before I initiate a circling movement or any other maneuver around the subject, leading to an unintended centering adjustment that shifts my intended composition. Sometimes, spotlight goes flying off the subject completely.
Does anyone else face similar challenges with their Air 3 when using the spotlight feature for precise subject tracking? It feels like a slight but significant disruption in what could be seamless cinematic content. Curious to hear if this is a common issue or something unique to my experience. 🤔
