    I wish I lived near the coast so I could easily go hunting anytime. That looked like so much fun. Great collection of goodies. I like the story you told on the Podcast about the other guy hunting in the area, and not knowing what he missed. You snooze, you lose.

      It's nice to live so close to fun hunting but it's also quite the distraction, lol. The finding season isn't a huge window of time either, mostly sand for most of the year. Can't complain. I feel bad when you find something so close to someone that doesn't know. I usually give stuff away when that happens, like 'I think you missed this', but with the big vert, I had to keep it 😅. Thanks for watching!

    Beautiful finds! I love all of the agates you found, especially the couple of blue black agates. Super cool fossils on this beach hunt! I'm really looking forward to you cutting the Teredo Wood and possible jasp-agate and prep that huge spiral shell.👍👏 Thanks for sharing your awesome day and amazing finds Karen!

    SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHATS ON TV . I AM IN COLORADO AND AM MORE INTO INDIAN ARTIFACTS . BUT A ROCK HOUND IS A ROCKHOUND . WANT TO FIND SOME OF THOSE SUNSTONES. GLAD I DISCOVERED YOU AND YOUR SITE , HAPPY HUNTING

      Thank you so much! Artifacts are so much fun to find too. I'm pretty sure you've got some sunstones close to you in Utah (at least closer than here), though they don't have the schiller. You're so right, a rock hound is a rockhound! We have a Rockhound Podcast too where we cover lots of rocks and chat with hounds from all over. Check it out if that sounds interesting; www.youtube.com/@RockhoundPodcast

    Love you channel ❤ do you clean the beach stones before polishing them? If so just soap or Iron Out or something different? Your dog is soooo cute!😊❤

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  Před 11 dny +1

      Thank you, Julie! I love what you're up to as well. I don't polish many of them, but when I do, a soap scrub before starting in with the different grits is all they require. I can't use any of them professionally, so any polishing and hunting is just for fun, curiosity, and research (like fossil prep). Thanks for watching, cheers!

    I have some of those big spirally fossils and thought they were Musashia stinecurns also. I took them to Fossil Fest in Newport Oregon and they told me that they are trace fossils of the inside of a shrimp type creatures burrow.

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  Před rokem

      How interesting! I'd love to see your trace fossils in comparison. Those guys were for sure steinkerns, or technically close to steinkern, because there was shell present to give away their identity. Fossil fest is a blast, so glad you could go! Thanks for watching, cheers!

    Hello Karen! I'm new to your channel and really enjoying your videos!! My hubby & I are planning a rockhounding trip to Oregon for our anniversary (Halloween) and I was wondering if you could please recommend some beaches for us. We've only gone as far as Newport, but I'd like to go farther north. We collect agates, fossils, jasper etc. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! Also, thank you for your videos! I live vicariously through you while watching you on the beach lol, we're in Northern CA, and it's a bit of a drive! We'll worth it though!! Oh man, I CAN'T WAIT to get back on the beach!! 💜🙏💜

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  Před rokem +1

      Hi Deanna, Happy Anniversary! I hope I'm getting back to you in time. The summer brings us a lot of sand to the beaches so the fall/early winter can be tricky for hounding. What we usually do is drive the coastline and pull over as much as possible to check to see if there's gravel. Of course the beaches that have rivers that come down them are hedging one's bets. I don't know of any gravel wash outs near by right now but you're welcome to message me on facebook as it gets closer to when you're here. Cheers and thanks for watching!

      @deannamarsala5160 Před rokem

      @@OzoneFineArtVentures Thank you for replying! Hopefully there will be some gravel when we are there, even if there isn't, there's never a wasted day on the beach right?!

    Where was this video taken? Loved all the great info as a newbie rockhounder!

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  Před rokem +1

      This was on the central coast of Oregon, north of Newport. This particular beach did not perform this year, that's why I don't name them. They're different every year and folks get flummoxed when they go and it's not the same as the video. Welcome to this fantastic rockhounding community, let me know if you have any questions about it. Cheers!

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  Před rokem +1

      The two heelers we have without tails came from a working line off a horse ranch. They typically dock the tails of the working dogs. Love all the heelers, aren't they great?! Thanks for watching!
