Ok, I have a nickname for you...”Mighty Mary” 😁. You can make anything look great. Well done my friend. 👍🏻☺️
As a former custom furniture designer you're missing one element on that footstool and that is batting. It will take out all the Imperfections caused by the jagged edges of the foam.
Foam is usually cut with a hot knife.😊
So kind of you to share this. It helps the rest of us, too, because Mary inspires us to rework our STUFF!!
That is the suggestion I,was going to make. I used to work in a high end furniture factory. Batting went over almost everything. It gives a nice smooth finish to upholstery pieces.
I'm not professional but I have done few pieces here and there and yes, you need the batting over the foam to make the edges smooth. Very simple fix
AmelaPa My grandfather was an upholsterer, and yes, professionals always use batting over foam. Great suggestion to share with those who don’t know.
I thoroughly enjoy watching you transform trash into art ! Electric meat knives make cutting foam easy . Go girl !!
Everthing you do is awsome xx
You’re so imaginative. You can see the finished product before you start. The Lord has given you a great gift. God bless you and your family!
Just beautiful Mary I just love it
I love your T shirt!! Home is definitely where your cat is for sure.
So worth the wait thank you Mary
Love all your projects but especially the ottoman. God gave you a very creative mind. I would never have looked at the spool and seen an Ottoman . God bless you.
Can not wait to see what you do with that table!!! That thing is gorgeous
My husband and I would drive around Sawgrass and Jacksonville Beaches in Florida on trash day and we would find the most incredible things that people would put on the curbside for the Trash hauler. Some days it was like an episode of Antiques Roadshow. It was incredible to me what people would just throw out for the trash hauler. We rescued some of the most beautiful items. We started to gain a name and people would invite us to their estate sales. We would take items back to our shop in our Orange 57 Chevrolet Truck, make repairs, refinish and sell them out of our shop Wood-N-Stuff. We were able to turn that into a viable business in under a year. It was my husband who taught me how to refinish furniture. And people just loved that old truck that we had. Within months we were getting calls from antique dealers at the local antique malls to come pick up their pieces, refinish them so that they could sell them for a higher price at their shop. People wanting us to come into their home and give them an estimate on what we would charge to refinish their antiques. There is an actual place in this world where you can dumpster dive and turn what people considered trash into a real treasure for someone else. Rescuing beautiful objects from complete destruction became a passion for me.
I’m convinced there’s nothing she can’t do!
Que pena trabajar sobre un mueble tan lindo y de estilo...hirio mis sentimientos ...chau...
I think Mary is so clever , resilient and strong . Her home looks beautiful and her garden and furniture makeovers are brilliant. I love watching her videos
I agree! I was just going to comment on that! No piece of junk is safe! So inspiring!
You’re a great role model Mary! 🥰✨🙌🙏🏻🌻
I always enjoy your Trash to Treasure vids!
You teach us women who think we can’t do much that we can do things once we know how to by watching your videos. I hope to be able to is it your company with some friends once we are all able to get together again. Thank you for being our teacher through your videos..
I'll have to go on the hunt for another ladder for my porch! My husband made me a quilt rack out of his old wooden ladder by cutting it in half lengthwise (removing the back stand) and I love it! Great ottoman and tray, too! Your videos brighten my day.
Love your creativity! Thank you for sharing and for your faith!
Wow such talent The Lord has given you 😄💙💞
Okay Mary...not to scare you , I'm a little obsessed...Keep up the beautiful work.🥰
Oh Mary, if only you could sell bottles of YOU in your Etsy shop so I could have you come design my house!! 😂😂😂The ottoman is amazing!!!
Again...Wow! I have an old ladder just like yours in the shed that my husband was gonna burn. NOW I know what I’m gonna do with it! I love every episode! You are simply amazing!
Love the ottoman. A few lumps makes it look vintage!
I would say Magic Mary. Makes treasure from trash. Great work Mary.
A cute plastic placemat fits a lot of trays perfectly. TFS your projects!!
Hi Marry, I get so excited when you post, that I like it before I even watch it! Thanks so much for sharing. And I love your t - shirt btw.
~ Love and blessings from Toronto, ON, Canada.
You sure are a “jack of all trades” Mary. Well done!!
Mary, you are amazing! I wish I were young again with your energy.
Great job as always,Mary
I’m watching in the UK and only discovered you a few days ago. I love you Mary, you are relentless!! A real Proverbs 31 woman! X
Hi Mary- Well what can I say I don't even have a favorite project today, all three turned out beautifully!!! All of the wall papers are so lovely, and the cover you made for your ottoman is so stylish!!! You mentioned that you wish you had a smoother cut on the foam, and I wondered if you have ever tried a hot foam cutter. Amazon has a wide range of cutters from $15- to $150 dollars and even the lower priced options have excellent reviews, it looks like you could get a good one with a 4 to 5 star rating for around $30 dollars. I have been researching them to buy one for myself, I have a few projects I want to do and watched someone use one and it looked like a great tool to have. Again I love you, your channel and all the beautiful things you create, blessings to you and your family today and always!!!
Awesome work on that ottoman!!! People just do not realize how much work goes into some of these pieces!! I love it!!
If you put a layer of batting over your foam the lumps won’t show. It came out beautiful as all your projects do. So creative and such a sweet, gentle spirit. I love your videos.
I use an electric carving knife to cut foam. Cuts clean and quick! I paid about $10, I believe. Good investment for sure! Great projects. More, More, More. Thanks.
Glad you mentioned the electric carving knife, Martha. I hope Mary sees your comment.
Love that ladder. Especially!
Quilt batting, the bonded type, over the foam, hides all of those cutting flaws. Very nice!!
I'm always amazed what you can do... All of your projects were very nice..
Can’t wait to transform wooden ladder I was going to sell.... “found” whilst cleaning out our garage this summer.
Thank you very much for the great idea!!!!!!
Talk about jack of all trades youre the Jill of all trades. Wonderful work
Hello Mary, I am in love with your Ottoman! Brilliant idea! I knew when you said “Ottoman” the fabric had to be drop cloth... love, love, love it!
How cute is your shirt! I have 6 cats... 4 Pure Breed Maine Coon Cats , 1 Russian Blue and a handsome Tabby Boy who FOUND US ! I love my kitties also! I always enjoy seeing your sweet kitties in the videos!
Thank you for giving us another amazing “trash to TREASURE” video!
I'm inspired every week by you, Mary. Thank you!
Mary, you are truly amazing. I love it but I really loved the ottoman, I've got the same tray and I've been thinking of painting it and putting a scripture on it. God Bless, keep shining
I love your little pudgy four legged helper! She looks at home in your lap. Mary, an electric knife for carving turkey, etc. works great for cutting foam.
Mary, I bet simply putting tape around the lumpy foam brim would be an easy and quick fix! EVERYTHING CAME OUT BEAUTIFLY!
One of my favorite diys of all time.
Ottoman is a genius DIY. Thank you.
So creative. I wish I had your talent
I never grow bored watching you make things beautiful❤
I rescued a ladder exactly the same as this one from the curb. I haven't done anything to it and now I can't wait to transform it. Thanks Mary once again for your inspiration 💖
Ottoman is ridiculous!! I love it 💚
Great job Mary!! Love the ottoman
Those were three amazing projects you are such an inspiration thank you so much for sharing
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you create these nice items. I love your style. God bless.
I love it!! I just got a new kitten recently!!! Your cat reminds me of my cat that I had for 18 years! She would be in my lap as soon as I was still enough!! There’s nothing better than unconditional love from your animal!!! Linda from Memphis
Your energy is simply amazing! I just discovered your channel and I've been totally absorbed in them. I absolutely adore the items you repurpose!
So pretty. Love love love.
So inspiring to watch you bringing all those pieces back to life.
Great idea for the Ottoman with the Grain Sack! Love it!
I used an old grain sack and dropcloth to reupholster my wingback chair. I absolutely love it! Two things I learned were to cut the foam with an electric kitchen knife and second put batting (like what you use when quilting) between the foam and the fabric. It smooths out all the lumps. But never fear all your stuff is beautiful!!! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your God-given talents with us! You have wonderful ideas for repurposing!
I've just 'found' you and this is the first episode I've watched. I guarantee that I will be going back to the beginning and watching ALL your videos. I have an old wooden ladder that's been lying around in the shed for years, and I have been wondering what to do to it, now I know! Thanks for all the great ideas.
While Mary there's nothing you can't do love your video and I can't wait to see what you do with that table!!!🥰
I have no words, you by far are the most creative person I have ever seen, there's nothing you do that I don't absolutely LOVE!!!!!!! TFS 💞
Busy Bee Mary!! Especially at full speed 😀 Wonderful transformations, as always. Wow! The Lord sure blesses the work of your hands. I love every video. So thanks for sharing with us. XX
I love how at the end of each video you slowly, from all angles, show the finished products in use in your home. Thank you.
Beautiful Mary. YOU could make piping with rope and your sack to go around top edge.I did this with 2 fancy chairs I reupolster for our church, just hot glued the trim on,that was months ago.The chairs are used regularly, still holding up.
Love all 3 projects!!! I got an electric knife at a garage sale for a dollar to cut my foam!! It works like a charm!!!! You are so blessed with creativity!! I had quit doing anything to my house but since wat Hong every single video at least twice. I have done several projects!!! You are such an inspiration to me!!!!
That Ottoman is amazing, and i love the ladder too. The tray looks awesome for a breakfast in bed situation. Not that that ever happens to us mums ...Right ??!
What an awesome job on all projects!!!!!!!!!
Your ottoman and ladder are great ideas. I wouldve never thought of turning those items into what you did. Great job!
Love the projects especially the ottoman. Beautiful.
Love your tutorials! You show all the steps, but don't waste any time. Awesome!
That ottoman is fantastic!
You are so smart and creative. I loved all 3. Nice work on the ottoman.
Incredible transformation! I love how they all turned out. I wish you were my neighbor!!
I really like all the pieces especially the ladder! Yes, I'll c you Wednesday, some Wednesday anyway, lol. Thanks for sharing your craft with us.
Mary you are amazing. What talent God gave you. Loved all of these, but no surprise there. Best DIYs on CZcams. Tfs.
Mary, if you cover the foam top with batting it will appear smoother under the grain sack cover.
Your projects are always so beautiful! Excellent work!!
Please make a shirt with,
White Cottage Co. 😁
Use quilt batting on the foot stool, you'll get a smooth finish.
You’ve done it again Mary. Love them all . Stay well and Happy Terri from Oz❤️
You are such an inspiration to so many. Love ALL you do. Thank you so much. God Bless You!
It is so nice to see that you are raising your son, as I raised mine to be industrious, like his Mom. He seems to be a well-rounded young man! He has such a fantastic role model for a Mom!!!
I absolutely love the ottoman!
Mary, you are a Trash to Treasure genius!!! Love everything you do. I bought the Wagner paint sprayer after I watched your review on it, haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet but can’t wait to try it out. Thank you for all the wonderful videos and inspiration!
The spool would have also made a cute table for your deck with a little succulent in the center, good job everything looks amazing
Again Mary, you amaze me with your talents!
I am loving all your wonderful Trash to Treasure projects. I do the same for myself.
Here is a little tip for foam cutting that I picked up from an HGTV show back in the early 1990s and have been using ever since. As a professional Seamstress I make a LOT of household furnishings, including reupholstering chairs and stools which always need new foam. Cut the foam with an electric carving knife... any double-blade carving knife will do. Yes... a meat carving knife, but one dedicated to your foam cutting needs. It can cut up to 5" thick without binding or 'chopping' the foam for a nice even edge.
I love your style and your ingenuity. You work hard and that’s how you stay so thin! You definitely don’t have idle hands!
I picked up the identical tray at a yard sale for a few dollars. Love how you transformed it. TFS
Mary, you are amazing what you can do with paint and lovely old pieces of furniture, love your decals too .
Mary, you make me believe that the projects I think of are possible... that I can actually do the projects. Thanks you!
I found an old wood ladder on a recent run. Also got a wire spool, yeah! Running with your ideas...
Love your TTT vlogs and how you figure out what you are going to do and how you are going to do it....
As always Mary, your projects look great! I like the little table too, can't wait to see what you do with it!
You can cut back on the bumpy foam by covering itvwith a layer of quilt batting before adding your fabric cover. Love all your projects!
I have just stumbled onto your videos today. I am so amazed at your God given talent. You sew, saw, sand, paint, wallpaper, etc. Is there anything you can't do? You are truly blessed with an eye to repurpose items I never dreamed could be!
You nailed it, Mary! LOVE all 3 projects!!
Your ottoman looks awesome. I wouldn't change a thing!
Can't wait to do what you did to your ladder. Loved the wallpaper on the steps! Thank you.
I recently started watching your channel. I must say, I’m very impressed. I love all your work thus far. You have such a sweet soul. Your love for our Lord shines through you.
You should have a HGTV show! There is something about your blogs that are down home and make everyone want to know you. My best to you.
