- Admission in Navodaya schools are allowed in Class 6th, 9th and 11th.
Seats in class 6th are fixed that is 80 seats in each and every navodaya.
Class 9th seats depends upon the Non Reporting students of class 6th. Many schools have 2-3 seats in class 9th. But some do not have a seat in a session.
Class 11th admission is made on merit basis.
This video is helpful for those who are preparing for Navodaya school class 6th students.
I have taken the interview of class 6th students of Navodaya Vidyalaya Buxar, Bihar students and you can know what they feel after admitting in the school and how they crack class 6th exam.

That Bihta Hostel boy is clearly tall and probably overaged for class VI in my opinion (maybe he is of the correct age). Hostels in Bihta are exclusively for preparation of JNV, Sainik and Netarhat etc entrance exams. I don't know how he is claiming he didn't get any coaching. Overaged students have always been a menace for the Navodaya system, they eat up the seats of deserving candidates and once they get admission, they start dominating everywhere from sports to academics because they have the advantage of age on their sides. I have witnessed and suffered all this.
This I have seen only in North since some were migrating in class 9 to our jnv in Karnataka but they looked as old as 21-22
