A traditional part of the "International A cappella Week Hannover" is the A cappella Night. In the 20th edition of the festival, it is all about a cappella music from German-speaking countries, which, however, could not be more different.
There are ANDERS on the one hand. The five Freiburg students stand for ANDERS sound, modern arrangements, extraordinary beatbox skills and a stage show with sophisticated choreographies. The cheeky formation has thus made a name for itself from local heroes also beyond the region. Thus the band already played in the support program of Revolverheld, old master Heinz Rudolph-Kunze and Indie rocker Thees Uhlmann.
VOXID: In addition to five absolutely exceptional voices, the Leipzig band is characterized by one thing in particular: refreshing and varied, multi-award-winning songwriting, packed into a rousing, bombastic live sound. Those who have already seen the likeable vocal artists live can also confirm that they absolutely know their craft, because "VOXID make you addicted to the feeling of joining in" (HAZ) "and that on an impressive, internationally high level. What
the US superstars Pentatonix started with internationally successful cover versions is taken even further here with sophisticated original compositions." (soulguru) In addition to the "wonderful pearls of pop music" from their own pen, VOXID also have a few "divine cover versions" in their luggage, as Schall 2018 magazine proclaims in the anniversary magazine with VOXID and Fanta4.
The third band in the bunch is BASTA: 5 guys who, as an a cappella band, have been filling not only the pubs in Cologne but halls all over Germany for over 20 years. No matter where they go on their concerts or tours, the guys from basta convince with their rousing own pop songs, sensitive ballads and hilarious parodies. With Arndt Schmöle, bass player with basta and former singer of modell andante, a festival co-founder returns to Hanover for the 20th anniversary.
