Jazz is the first Transformer I purchased with the money I saved through gradeschool. This release from FansToys is SOOOO FIIIINNNEE!!!
You know putting G1 Jazz next to Bayverse Jazz, I'm reminded of an article I came across not long ago asking why cars today are so bland in color. It shows a picture of cards from 50 years ago and how all the colors were super vibrant. Bright blue, yellow, candy apple red. Putting the two Jazzes next to one another it occurs to me that aside from their rather chaotic designs, part of the reason that the Bayverse Transformers are so hard to differentiate is because they have modern color schemes, which are vastly more drab than in the 80s with the G1 era. Jazz being silver doesn't seem drab, until he's next to a bright white car.
Because today's cars are treated just as a tool to go somewhere. Most people don't have much enthusiasm about cars. They are tools just like washing machines, blenders, toasters, refrigerators and what do these tools have in common? They have boring colours: Black, white, silver etc.

I love how Masterpiece figures are moving towards the classic G1 cartoon look. 👍🏼
Sad that Takara, the creator of Transformers, still hasn’t come out with an official Jazz or Mirage.
I believe it has something to do with Porsche not letting them license it

Very nice-looking Jazz. I found it interesting and amusing that they'd use two different wheel well parts for the rear tires. That reminds me of the MP Bayverse Ironhide that folds over the GMC logo to reveal another GMC logo.
That's some clever design to handle the parts shrinkage from the cartoons! Really amazing engineering.

Good job! I haven't seen any other reviewer actually transform the legs properly by ensuring they have enough clearance when rotating the colourful striped side of the legs. Most people just force it and scratch it. Kudos!!!! 😀 Oh no!! I think you forgot to use the tiny locking tab to secure his shoulder and chest together!
I noticed that too. It is a small part but supposedly it keeps the tabs together when you move the arms. Without it the ratchets in the arms pull out other tabs.
Ah, yes. How can we ever forget Jazz’s famous grappling hook that he used only once and never again!
I had the original Jazz G1 back in '86 for a few minutes... then I realized the LASER GUN was missing and my dad returned it to the store. There were no other models available so he bought me Tracks instead. I still cry when I remember that.
