I just realized how powerful of a PC you need to make, play, and record this. Wow. My laptop, which I play games on all the time would prolly die playing it.
With Zenith (github.com/arduano/Zenith-MIDI) you can simply render the video, so the power of one's PC does not matter that significantly. =)
@@MusiMasta I mean I am not a musician, i watch these for fun, so i dont actually plan on making any of these midis, just considering the fact that if i was my pc wouldn't work well.
@@Cybrtronlazr I tried running this on my fairly powerful laptop and it still choked towards the end. And that was just running the midi by itself with no visualiser!
I assume from what musimasta said that they are doing something similar to what professional digital animation studios do where they render parts of a film at an incredibly slow framerate and then compile the rendered frames into a video. I'm not sure how they get the audio to work though. Maybe the same sort of thing.
I think it's called a "render farm" when they have a whole lot of computers working simultaneously but I assume for a project like this they would just sacrifice being able to use their computer for a few hours tops to produce the soundless video file at full fps.

What I find as the most amazing about this piece is how it doesn't sound like a mess of notes. It sounds like an actual song with really cool background music.

I feel like these videos are more visual masterpieces, as well as the impressive and amazing amount of notes. If humans were to replicate this, it would probably take 1,000 people and 10,000 hours of practice to master timing, and of course, to figure out who is doing which notes. Easier said than done.
