    Iv watched several videos on this subject. You have done the best job. The magnetic collapse part now makes sense to me. Thank you.

    so does the magnetic collapse only happens wheh you start the car, or is it a process that continues to happen while the car is running,

    • @TheAbJGarage
      @TheAbJGarage  Před 5 měsíci +2

      The building and collapsing magnetic field continues as long as the engine is running. That collapsing magnetism is what causes ignition and fuel combustion in the cylinders

    I'm curious about how the ignition coil terminals got their numbers 1,4, and 15. Do you know how they got those numbers?

    • @TheAbJGarage
      @TheAbJGarage  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Honestly I don't! All I know is that the numbers are DIN designations to have common naming worldwide.

    What will happen if you switch the primary wires on terminals 1 & 15? Will the coil overheat or create a weaker spark?

    • @TheAbJGarage
      @TheAbJGarage  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The secondary winding current will start to flow through the primary as well! That will make the primary and the secondary windings to become in series as the contact points open. It could even cause the secondary voltage to fire at the contact points!
