I'm not gonna lie, this shit has me shedding more than a few manly tears. I found this dance in 2005 and i've never looked back. After a decade of this shit, i can honestly tell you i wouldn't be here without the love, acceptance and energy that hip hop has shown to me. I love this culture just as i love each and every one of my bboys and bgirls. We are a nation. We come from all over the world but we speak the language of dance. And through this we see each other's humanity. And their can't be anything wrong with that. Peace
I'm not the best bboy, but whenever I dance everything just makes sense. And that feeling in the cypher like you belong and there's only love in the world, it gets me every time
Wow! Incredible portfolio of how truly amazing dance can be all around the world. God blessed this world with music and dance to bring peace, love, unity, and having fun. Let's make 2015 even better!
Out here Rewatching these beautiful treasures than stance had made, thank you for this.
This is the power of our culture.
Long live hip hop!
Dance is the solution. One Love
With all the racial tensions in the U.S. as of late, I can think of only one antidote: Hip-Hop. It seems to be the only community on earth in which race isn't an issue... and for that I fucking cherish it.
Holy Hell I think you're right bro
word, whenever i hit up a jam it doesn't matter what colored skin you got. what matters is how hard you can kill it on the floor
CrispTopherOTT That's because those who hardly knows listen to the mainstream idea of what hip-hop is. They believe that corny rap (Drake, Wiz Khalifa, J Cole, Lil Wayne) music is hip-hop and automatically believe that Hip-Hop belongs to only black because the media tells them that. They probably don't even know who Afrika Baambaataa, Ken Swift, Crazy leg, Remind or even Arthur Baker is or who the Zulu Nation are or even know that Bboying is original hip hop. Hip Hop is the only thing that can truly bring peace to this world.
I mean look at this twitter page:
twitter.com/OnlyHipHopFacts
Just LOL at them calling themselves Hiphop facts.
R34ISdabest That link hurt my head.
*****
I had to take a whole bottle of Advil just to get that headache out after seeing that twitter page. All those people following needs to learn what real Hip Hop is.
Hip-Hop to me is one love and one understanding. For we all hear the same beat but we also understand that we all hit it differently.
Honestly the most beautiful i've ever seen.
Well made video! I like what he said about being in touch with the earth. Like physically having connection to the floor / earth! Respect.
For any outsider watching this must seem weird. Alien. Perhaps even a bit comical.
"How could these guys put so much meaning in a dance? It's just some dudes spinning on their heads."
Let me try and break ti down for you.
Most of us found breakin when we were lookin for something to identify with. Whether we saw someone on TV, in a movie or on the street getting down, we looked at that and thought "Yeah, that's what i need to be doing". We sought it out, put in hours and immersed ourselves in the culture. We gave a part of ourselves to becoming a dancer, felt highs and lows as we tasted the crowds adulation and endured their scorn.
We put school, university, jobs and relationships on the line in order to dance. We gave power to and put our faith in dance when literally nothing else made sense. We made friends, formed rivalries and figured out who we were as we put our sweat on the floor and a million times we wondered "Am i good enough?" "Am i just wasting my time"
But we kept on. Because something in our hearts is undeniably in love with movement. Because we realise that we're never more alive than when we hear that amen break. Because we glimpse transcendence when we pull out that one freestyle set that gets the crowd hype and see the (begrudging or otherwise) look of respect from our opponent who can't help but be impressed.
Because we're in love with this dance.
And that's all we'll ever need.
Peace
Bro i will never meet you in real but if i do (and i hope so) i willask u one question: Did somebody ever gave u a good feeling that was holding on so long like the time you needed to write this inspirational text...
Shoutout to Bboy Artson for that spoken word!
This is the best thing I have ever heard of! I was in tears because I said to myself to not give up.. Even if the devil trying to make me do so I pray to God to give me strength to have self confidence and to never give up on Breakin'- what I love so deeply it's crazy... I can never get enough of the Hip-Hop Culture nor Breakin'. This world is full of hate and war but the Hip-Hop Culture is full of love, peace, happiness... Every event I go to is full of life.. Not the world life but like the life of how people should really treat each other.. This is is why I love the Hip-Hop Culture.. It means so much to me.. So thank you for this wonderful video... I will listen to this every time I feel down or feel as if I can't be good.. Much love and respect man.
