I agree! What does Ate mean? I think it’s a term of endearment for The Great Regime, but can you tell me what the term means in English? I hope you don’t mind me asking 😇
@@peterd.9522 literally, it means older sister. But in this context, Regine prefers to call her fans as “friends” hence her fans are calling her “ate”. Which for me builds better relationship both for us fans and her.

This for me was Prime Regine. Her vocal peak as well. So much colors on her tone here and sings with so much ease. This is my favorite Regine era of all time. Also undeniably the grandest musical concert in Philippines history. Even Lea Salonga dreamed to have this stage and reportoire set for her. But only Regine! Thankyou for Archiving this Sonny!
She absolutely slayed On The Wings of love! And Sometime. somewhere was beyond a mere mortal feat! She has divine powers, no one sounds like Regine. And she was in full Goddess mode OMG that red gown😮flawless and sexy and sweet!! Queen Regine is my jam😅

@@Jhayke1012. Yes, I am an American. I did not know about Regine until around 2019. Which seems impossible to me. I knew who Lea Salonga was since I saw her on Broadway in Miss Saigon”. Sean McDermotts a friend of mine. But Regine didn’t hit my radar until about 4 yrs. ago. I heard her sing “Emotion” I looked her up on iTunes and heard her sing “In your eyes” and she owned it. George Benson did a great version, but Regine just transformed the song. I now understand why Regine is called Queen. So yes, I play her for everyone and listen to all her music. And last, she has something almost impossible to describe. But it grabs me and makes me melt.
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST AND GRANDEST CONCERT EVER HELD BY A FILIPINO ARTIST. HANDS DOWN. ❤🎉
I like to thank to Sonny Azurin sharing concert One Night with Regine 2002. This concert is one of the best artistic performance of Regine Velasquez and Roseo José Rosales and Ogie Alcasid! There is no this level of artistic performance after or before, just at National Museum's scenic steps.
Moreover it is some kind of salute to Ryan Cayabyab for Metro Manila Popular Music Festival and for organizing and directing this concert.
Regine and Ryan, the 2 “Rs” that represent 2 of the very best in Philippine music- I’m keeping and watching this again and again, each time still getting moved, by the world class talents and the carefully picked repertoire. Thank you for sharing.
I can't believe the last three songs she sang were, "Papa can you hear me", "Piece of sky" & "What kind of fool am I". And she delivered them in Reginified renditions that were flawless! She has gifts akin to superpowers!

Thank you for sharing this... the National Museum of Anthropology (before National Museum of the Filipino People) edifice holds dearly close to my heart as I was a member of the team who restored and renovated the former Dept. of Finance Building to what is now the National Museum of Anthropology for the Philippine Centennial (1998). And it was so moving to watch Regine perform right on what we fondly call 'Our Baby' two decades ago. Thanks for posting it here.
