    Another winner Andy. Thanks for being one of the few youtube modelers from the USA. I really wish the hobby was as big here as it is overseas. You are certainly doing your part to grow the hobby here.

    If you wanna keep the wheels spinning without messing up the alignment, built the chassis upside down, built the floor plate first, glue on one of the side frames, slide in the axles, align the other side frame, and glue it to the floor plate, align and glue the braking rods; reinforce with the buffer beams.
    P/S: also a nice way to glue on the brake shoes is by using a wheel with some paper shims on both side, press on the brake shoes until they clamp tight, when you remove the shims, all the brake shoes should have an equal distance to the wheels

    Hello Andy. A suggestion. The rims of the wheels, the tread, should be bright bare steel, since they roll over steel rail, both the treads and the top of the rail don't gather rust. Conversely, the sides of the rails and the sides of the wheels should be rusty. Neither the rail nor the wheels are ever painted and the bare steel rusts starting at day one. Great job on the rest of the cars.

    Andy! Are you going to make the brake hoses out of rubber tube so that they can be coupled together ( remove the molded plastic pieces and substitute some flexible, black rubber tubing )? You made the couplers as working parts so the brake lines could be as well. ;o) Super nice attention to detail you have going on this one!

The problem is there are no rail tracks with the kit. Do you know where I can get a set to mount the model after I have finished it? Enjoy your channel and hints. Thanks for the help.

    Andy I notice that you are talking during spray painting. Do you not wear a mask when you airbrush? Just curious as I thought the fumes can be dangerous. Keep up the great videos!

    • @Yourlocaltankgirl8375
      @Yourlocaltankgirl8375 Před 4 lety

      I think acrylics aren't dangerous, as I spray them in my room with no trouble. Enamels however are extremely potent and toxic and require a mask. Good ventilation is a must either way. Stay safe!

    Unfortunately this model is absolute fantasy. Nothing in common with reality, at least nothing with DR Om car. Bumpers and hooks way too thick, pressure hoses in strange angle, no proper underframe, labeling way too large and completely unrealistic.
    But you've made the best out of it, I like the video.

  • @mr.polemikus4933
    @mr.polemikus4933 Před 2 lety

    Quite strange fact is that these wagons, flat & gondola, look outspanned, about 1/30 scale or even more, just compare the size of wooden planks , wheels, bumpers and hooks with vehicles: the Blitz and artillery seems a Morris Ten pickup, the light tank instead seems rather 1/48 scale . The building also seems conducted in reverse, would it not be better to paint separately frame, axles wheels? Wouldn’t it be better to leave bumpers and hook for last and glue them already painted? Moreover why a coat of black “primer” before a pale gray and wood brown & Grau? It’s ok maybe as a preshading on the “shadowed” parts like the interior corners but is a contradiction, if your aim is to damp the light color it just can be made with a dark wash if necessary, it’s absurd to cover a black primed surface with lighter colors.
    By converse it seems loufouque to blacken an already camouflaged truck...I agree a modeler is not Edward Hopper, but...17:31 subliminal message ? the bottle is visible 1/100 of a second. 17:46 we see only the hairy wrist, not the work of hairy stick...
