something I think alot of people miss is in Darwin's first round, when he says "You'll get the broom quick" it's actually a nod to competitive pokemon battles. When you beat an opponent without loosing one of your own pokemon, it's called Sweeping the battle. So Darwin basically said, I'm gonna beat you without taking a hit.
I thought it was more a reference to amateur night at The Apollo Theater where if the crowd started booing you a guy with a broom would come out to "sweep" you off stage in the middle of your act.

So yes, this was indeed a game reference to the glitchy-ass first Generation of Pokémon.

The reason its 128 is in the binary 16-bit coding system. I'm not knowledged enough to explain it further, but pages like bulbapedia.com may have an explaination on it.

It can go either way, but to me The Oak line is just a glorified your mom joke, it’s understandable if that’s a winning bar, but the “TB and Scarlett fever, gotta catch em all” is fact and personally takes it for me, but remember opinions differ so I could be wrong

Bargins Galore That was a really good line, and clever too, but that scarlet fever line sits amongst the hardest in ERB history.
Plus the Oak and Mom thing had been a "inside joke" for years so it's not even original. It was initially sparked by a banned episode of Pokemon and later in 2005 it gained a little more traction. It really started kicking off in 2009 though. Then in 2016 it was boosted even more by an episode that showed Professor Oak at Ash's mom's house when he called her. This battle came out after that. The other line "Mighty Morphin Micheal Vick" while good from the stand point of animal fights, fell a little flat for me. Mighty Morphin was a Power Rangers thing not Pokemon. I suppose one could say it was a link by being painted by the brush of Japanese origin but that's just not strong enough for me.

I honestly wonder if that should truly count because it wasnt a battle rap delivery, it was a graphic delivery. had they not included an image of whoever that was dressed as ash from evil dead, it would have fallen totally flat, you know? Maybe people would have caught the reference but I feel it was cheapened by the imagery.

He didn't respond to ash's line about his mental problems, he didn't respond to origin of feces which is all wrong, and no Darwin wasn't a founder of evolution to compensate for that book either, nor did he have a response for his failed offspring produced through incest.
