Hahaha :) . SUPER LOVE THIS HOMILY, Fr. Dave! Super relate po ako. Sa isang healing rally held at a a plush CHURCH in Quezon City, wherein my siblings and I brought our very sick father with stage 4 liver cancer to be prayed over by this healing lay person who, at that time was gaining a little attention because of her strong (supposedly) "gift of healing" . People claimed she was a visionary down south and therefore we just could not take the chance. Because our father was so weak, he could hardly stand up, amidst the huge crowed inside the church, we wheeled him over to the front pews as it is the nearest area for praying over. We just hoped he will be the first among the many because he was just not feeling good and yet wanted to very much to attend this session. As we were about to sit and position Dad's wheelchair, we were immediately (I should say rudely) stopped by this two matrons who told this; "SORRY, THESE SEATS ARE SAVED FOR THE SPONSORS", NOT for the sick patients. They will be coming soon.'' We were completely floored and too stunned even to react. Scenes like this make me realize, indeed it is not surprising why some people leave the Catholic faith for good.
