The way you insert the ties is so clever! I love it!! I get so annoyed running drawstring through casings. I'll try this method next time I make an elastic waistband.
Anne, hello there! I actually do that with elastic too, but I don't show it in my tutorials as it can get confusing :) but yes, I get annoyed too, you and me on this one :) the only trick is to make sure you don't catch the ties/elastic in the seam.
I made my first drawstring bags last week, without following a tutorial. So quick and easy! I watched your video to figure out how to make them look so much better (as I had raw edges near the holes for the strings). Thanks for this!
Hello there! I am glad you enjoy them - yay! Oh wow, all the way from Sri Lanka - I remember in school we learned that Sri Lanka was formerly known as Ceylon and all about it being a trade hub and just a very interesting historic place. It was so amazing to learn about it!

So I finally found a source to buy some Ukrainian fabric and here is a video of what I made following this tutorial. Oh and I actually found it easier just to attach a safety pin and pull the drawstring through the casing czcams.com/video/Nq6JkQw8upY/video.html
