  • Penn Engineering’s GRASP Lab fosters the development of inspiring leaders in cutting-edge robotics research.
Jasleen Dhanoa completed the Robotics Master's Program within the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Penn. The Robotics MSE program provided her with a flexible curriculum which allowed her to tailor her course of study based on her interests.
In May 2023, Jasleen graduated with her Robotics Master's Degree and has since become a Graduate Research Assistant at ScalAR Lab, Professor Ani Hsieh’s research group within the GRASP Lab.
Robotics Master’s students at Penn are encouraged to select a GRASP Faculty member as their advisor based on their research interests. Jasleen chose to work with Prof. Camillo J. Taylor due to her interests in perception and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). Jasleen was inspired by the courses that she took that were taught by Prof. Hsieh to seek research assistance from her as well and eventually joined her research group. Throughout her time as a Robotics Master’s student, Jasleen achieved such feats as joining forces with other ROBO students to compete in a national challenge to create new applications for sensor technology and deploying autonomous boats in the Schuylkill River.
