Leave any questions down below! This is my first time making a video so I apologize if anything was confusing!

Hey doods! Thanks for the feedback! Didn’t expect this to be so helpful to people. I haven’t really checked this video in months so I came back and was surprised by the number of views lol. Let me know if there’s other drawing things you’d like videos on and I may make some! I never intended to be a youtuber or anything, but if these videos are wanted, I may continue with youtube.
Also, as far as the comic in this video goes, I discontinued it. I didn’t have the time since I am in college at the same time, and have had some pains in my hands from overworking. But you can still see my art on my instagram @duckwafer !!
HI
can you only upload 1 panel per page or can you do multiple panels on a single page also is it possible to upload double page spreads?
Now I'm gonna start making a series about my "magnificent" dreams...
I mean, they are great idea's
At least, I think-
Edit: but I usually go too over board with stories because I want all of these little details in...
You might not see this but, I use an IPad to draw and read webtoons, do you think you can make a tutorial for IPad users please?

People I just wanted to give everyone a tip. When you start taking a series very serious I highly recommend posting 3-10 chapters to start off. This will take time but if you struggle to grab attention from the first chapter no one will go back to it a month or week later. So when you are launching your first series post more than 1 chapter so people get the general idea of the story. If you don’t do this just make the first chapter very detailed and eye grabbing. But just enjoy making it and take your time.
Another reason this tip is great is that if the reader reads 3 or more chapters of your comic in a row, they get prompted by Webtoons asking if they want to subscribe to the series, and it makes it a lot more likely for them to do so.
Yeah. Apparently this is called retention and its usually in buisnesses, but it means that no matter how big your company is, if your customers dont come back, youre done.
Yeah, just like with youtube channels. You're gonna want to upload like 3-5 videos at first or something.
Is it better to draw in a high resolution then crop it or 800?
I can draw a character just fine but I can't keep the consistency.... One panel the art style is like this, and the next become a whole new artstyle TvT
Maybe you could pay more attention to character proportions? Or maybe making characters with signature things on their facial structures? I dunno hope this helps
I relate to this on a whole spiritual level ;-;
That's my case as well
@MilaMirai Sarada I have this problem too actually XD
Low notes? ok
Medium notes? Not bad
High notes? I'm dead, you're dead
try simplifying your characters into shapes before you draw them so you can get a hang of consistency and their shapely proportions. keep redrawing their features until you find something you can confidently copy over and over again.

“Simplify your style, because it will be harder to put lots of shading and rendering unless you have a team of at least like.. five people”

Lol I’m the exact opposite. I’m currently not doing any shading whatsoever XD

4:30 it is totally valid to draw on paper then color it in digitally. The author of Spirit Fingers and Our Beloved Summer also do the same thing! The difference is they would draw on hard pressed paper so when they scan the line art, the paper texture would show up. That's why their webtoons has an organic feel to it!

so many webtoons have amazing art for the first few chapters before slowly dropping in quality as the artist realizes that the time and effort required for such amazing artwork is not sustainable.
Exactly 😂 its the webtoon tragedy
I realize how horrible it would be to expect uploads a week but having to draw that much for only week..how much sleep would you have?? Rarely I think. 😔 I want to make a webtoon, but I first want to take my time with it and work on it for a year before uploading it so I'll have well enough episodes so that I don't have to worry about scrambling for the next update.

Hey !
I don't if people will see this but if some of you are wondering what's the difference between JPEG and PNG :
- JPEG is the most "common" one and your files will be really light but you tend to lose quality on your photo/art
-PNG has a better quality but is waaaaay heavier ! Also, if I remember correctly my college classes, it's more accurate for internet use ^^ (and it allows you to put a transparent background which is great when you draw a lot of stickers like me and that you wanna see how the shape turns out :3)
Thanks!
Ive always thought it was the other way round
Thank you!
Hmm, maybe instead of me losing my vision the artist of that one webtoon just switched to jpeg...

Y'all need to know, I'm pretty sure True Beauty's Author has a secretary or a helper or maybe even more. I wanted you guys to know that because when I tried to make a comic, her style was my standard and I gave up so fast. Fast forward to months later and I see her working with another person on the comic on her insta story and I was like "no wonder even her not so special panels look so damn good".
I think what they do is get other artists to assist with backgrounds and coloring stuff, so she can focus on certain aspects of drawing
I'm a great shader (Don't use my pfp as an example) so if you need help I can color stuff. :) ?
@@marianmeciar3385 When artists accept the offer to have their comic become an original series, they get offered other artists and sometimes get introduced to other creators (ex. Kenny for bg music) to accommodate whatever they need. Most of the time the artists that become part of the creator's "team" are colorists, storyboard artists, or character design experts. They help relieve some of the load off the creator and help improve the comic.
Only downside is that at times they follow their own agenda, as the marketing team is catered towards a certain type of trope or style when it comes to your comic that would appeal more to a larger audience. You lose a bit of autonomy when that happens.

that moment when you've always been a traditional artist and you're still confused on how to use layers correctly t-t
Oh what are your questions?
Ask some questions and we might be able to answer some🙃
My question is why are the layers necessary??
@@i_dont_know_who_i_am_93 they aren’t necessary but are extremely useful.
1. If you are unsure about how something would look with the whole thing you could use a separate layer. And if you didn’t like it just delete it
2. Blending modes can really cool to play around with.
ones I use the most:
Add- make whatever color under lighter with your selected color
Multiply- make whatever color under darker with your selected color
Overlay- adds a tent to colors underneath with your selected colors
^those are just the bare minimum in any of my art.^
3. If you’re unsure about how to shade a specific drawing you can use the layers to test stuff out. Meaning you can shade the same drawing in as many ways as possible and just find the one you like most.
Idk. There is a simple explanation I guess lol
I’ve been struggling to when I started digital art. But for a few weeks, it’ll eventually be easy to use.

i really appreciate the timestamps, being able to go to specific parts is helpful. the Big Win that kept me for the entire rest of it was the mdei/krita promo. dont know medi myself but krita is my preferred app. i did buy a license for csp for 2 major things no other program offers. 1st the native posable 3d maquettes and 2nd the vector layer which, as far as i can tell, flat out beats all the rest for use as an inking tool. iv used most of the big name art apps and never liked the results i got from the tedious methods for inking but csp finally developed a tool that lets you throw down a line, reshape it and give it a more organic feel without the draw/erase/undo/redo roundabout. im new to the whole webtoon thing but the scroll paging really works for me especially some of the entertaining options it opens up in story telling, multilayered concurrent story telling ... gonna be a fun challenge
i can't believe everything i need is in one compact video TvT, TYSM!!
I really loved this, it helped me a lot thanks :)

Thank you! I have these idea in my head for over 1 year and I actually want to try to draw a webtoon but never sure if I can't make it in the right way.
This is very helpful, thanks again :)!!
Yooooo!!! Genius idea of taking a pic and then tracing it over on digital!! I never thought of that, and it's so cool Fishball does that too, awesome! I always felt better drawing on paper then on digital. Great video- super informative😁✨
I don't want to, have never wanted to, never plan to, and don't even read webtoons, I just wanted to learn something and did! I really appreciate how informative you are!
