    I had a lift (breastfeeding deflated my poor boobs!) and smaller under the muscle silicone implants and couldn't be happier. Over the muscle is much heavier on your breast tissue and skin and can stretch it out over time, particularly if one has a larger implant. Plus, with OTM, it's easier for the implant to "bottom out" (once again due to the skin having to support the implant where as the pec muscle offers support that can't be matched) AND capsular contracture where scar tissue forms around the implant making it really hard and unnatural looking is much more common with OTM. My under the muscle implants feel soft and natural and are even jiggly. It was no question for me to chose that placement.

    I explanted this year and can’t be happier. Nobody will convince that implants are safe. My chronic back pain and headaches went away right away. Ladies please really, deeply think before you get implants. Do your research. I had them for 13 years. My breast looked perfect but they never felt “mine” plus caused me chronic pains.

      When did your back pain begin? Was your implant over the muscle?

    Very informative video but the sound is horrible, the eco effect is annoying, and on top of that we have that distracting music. Please correct. Good info thou

      I will take that feedback on board for the future - thanks. It's not been an issue others have raised though, it may be your speakers but I note the feedback regardless. Thank you.

    Sure, most of woman in Cadada,, since 1985 are agree to have something under pectoral muscle, by just said yes front of surgical rep, or by not really undersand everything, and that compexity .. So 8 negative sides by under-muscles, to against 2 négatives at only 5% of possibility. At the breast base.. ( text translate from french

      Its definitely something to assess and discuss with each patient on an individual basis. Its a bespoke decision.

      I go into that on the video. The answer is - "it depends" on the situation, anatomy, preferences, lifestyle.

      I say under muscle 100%. You don't see or feel the edge of implant like with over the muscle implants. I had over the muscle 20 years ago and they get droopier and droopier. My one implant rotated completely. Had them redone with a lift under the muscle and they look and feel so natural and have stayed firm and perky.

      Potentially, you need to have a consultation and discuss your goals and be examined by a Plastic Surgeon.

      You can place silicone implants under the muscle or over the muscle for a breast augmentation.

    Can you ride horses with breast implants?

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes you can with a supportive bra like a sports bra once you are fully healed and recovered. I would not recommend doing it before at least 2 months post-op. Speak with your surgeon and every patient's circumstance is slightly different. Start slowly of course and gradually build up activity.

    Could the constant 'pressing' of the muscle down on the implant be what reduces the risk of capsular contracture on under the muscle implants? (I understand that even if people don't do weights to work their chest, everyday subtle movements still involve contraction and relaxation of the chest muscles) Could regular massage for over the muscle implants reduce the risk in that case?

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  Před 2 lety +3

      Massage has not been proven to change capsular contracture rates. The texture/implant characteristics, the plane, infection have been linked.

      it mainly depends on how much breast tissue you have.

      To some extent, I agree with you, they could say e.g. in an absolute no difference condition, when both ways work for a patient, which one is Idea. I guess the above muscle is ideal, as they say if there is not enough tissue, etc. etc. Then we have to do) under muscle, which means if those conditions were not available,then over it!
