    Nice to hear the back story about the '83s. I remember one of our neighbors bought a new white C4, either an '84 or '85 model. The owner was out in the driveway cleaning it one day as my dad & I drove by. My dad rolled the window down & said to the owner - "My son will get his driver's license soon. Can he come over & ask to borrow your Corvette when he gets it?" The C4 owner said - "He can but I will politely tell him no." We all had a good laugh.

    Interesting info Rick, My Father as well purchased a early 1984 Corvette.
    It had so many issues that GM took it back for inspection we think. My father had a total of 54 Corvette's throughout his life.
    He Raced them, drove them, crashed a few of them but none of them gave him so much trouble like that 84. Dad many years later purchased a ZR1 a late 90's im pretty sure. and Wow was that a car. Thats when I really fell in love with Corvette.
    Thanks for the memories Rick.
    This was a real cool walk through time.

    great Vlog, I remember those days, I wanted a C-4. funny thing is 25 grand for a C-4 seemed like way more than 80 grand does today for a C-8 today, interest rate's at the time where above 10 percent. If I remember correctly the first C-4 are not known for reliability, GM was struggling with the emissions, CAD was just coming around, Widows 95 had not been released yet, how many folks worked with Windows 3.0, We have come along ways.

    Hey Rick, I bought a new 84 in march of 84. This was quite a change from my 81 C3. It got a lot of the looks people are getting with the C8s. It was not fast at all compared to the newer models but, It was a unique experience for me. I was fond of that car and in 2011 I purchased a used 84 and completely restored it. Corvette has been a big part of my life and I really appreciate your VLOGS.
    Thanks for your time. Stay safe Vincent

    I had 1954 and 1956 Chevrolets with many of the components that let Chevrolet turn the 1953 Corvette Show car into a production car. Chevrolet was selling more Cars in America then any other manufacturer. And the components were reliable enough to make the C1 Corvette a good car! But Dealers got Corvettes and people were not excited about spending the price of a Buick Road Master for a two seat sports car. It is a miracle the car has survived until now!

    I had a 1993 Corvette and letting the engineers design and build the Corvette was good then and with the C8 introduction is very very good now! I took delivery on my new C8 Sting Ray at 6 pm on 8-6-2920 and Ran the first 500 miles in by about midday on the 7th it is what any Automobile should be! The C8 is a base 2LT and the interior design people insisted I pay $590.00 extra for a Red Interior in a Elkhart Lake Blue Stingray.. I had gray seats in my 1993 and I the interior people were a little older might remember the 1953 had a red interior. So GM if you are listening I want the $590.00 back for Sears that should have been free in any C8!

    The Competition Seats. Are for competition and unless Corvette wants to pay you to race the Car should be there. Like the Z51 option They don’t make the Car faster then a Stingray they are just there to looks good. All show no go!

    I bought a brand new 1984 Corvette within a few months of their being offered for sale by dealers. I remember it was painted (from the factory) a two tone bronze - light bronze and dark bronze. I don't know of any year other than 1984 that Corvettes were offered for sale as two tone models. If anybody knows differently please post a comment with details. I enjoyed the car but when the much improved 1985 model was released I traded in my two tone '84 at the dealer for a solid bright red '85 model. I really enjoyed that red '85 and kept it for many years. It was quite a "looker".

    the C8 is millennial trash better suited for GTA or other video games, so who cares about the seat;
    i wouldn’t take one as a gift;
    a car with an automatic transmission is just a taxi..it will NEVER be a sports car;
    and if i wanted a battery operated RC car i’d get a Tesla;
    sorry, but i’m not a millennial nor am i George Jetson;
