I’m going to try these. Based on the 1/4 inch elastic, 3 inches long, I’m thinking the fabric is 6 inches long (on the fold), 1 1/2 inches down each side, and 2 inches in the center. I will try and let you know!

I made it for my newborn.
I took a 9 inch long piece of fabric and 8 inch wide (fold it in half so the width is 4 inch)
9× (double fold) 4 gives 3.5 inch booties, that fit perfectly on my newborn.
I also found a way to make them seamless. They turned out to be the most adorable little things.
