This is great!! Please more 100 year old tech!!
a few more years and all my gear will be 100 yr old tech 😅
that was way cooler than i expected it to be! I love old vintage stuff like that. ESPECIALLY audio.
LOL, yeah knoptop, back in the day that was a novelty item for radio Amateur (ham radio) for what is known as CW (continuous wave) ie, Morse code. . if it was late at night they would hold that up to their ear so it wouldn't wake up the house. One hand holding the phone and the other hand working the keyer.
that microphone sounds better than some microphones sold in 2020
There is technically* no difference between a diaphragm to produce sound, and one to absorb it. The difference is in what you plug it in to. You can actually test this yourself by plugging a pair of headphones into the microphone input on your PC and speak into it. You'll need to record with a program like audacity though so you can amplify it a bit since it's not optimized for being used as a microphone, but it does work.
Yo that's sick. I love old equipment it looks so cool
Awesome! Thanks for checkin' out the vid!
Came here from TikTok, instantly subscribed ✌️
Sounds like an old radio broadcast. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Not only looks good but works too. Thanks for the video.

Cool find my dude! Has a very unique sound incoming and outgoing.
Well done sir!
At first, I thought the rattling was carbon granules, like they used to have in old telephone handsets.
Really too underrated channel...
That's cool, it does more like a mic though.

Those piezoelectric parts are very interesting to solder you got it to work with little research that’s big, I’m self taught in electronics for quite some time now and enjoy every bit of it, live my 100 year old head phones, the crystal radio it’s self is a very interesting device if anyone is curious!
I used to use my earphones as a mic.
Analog-digital converters all the same, lol. xD
Today I just gotten my Samson G-Track Pro.
Now that's legit!
That’s pretty awesome!
I love this device!
This was awesome!
And I thought I needed plugins to get that telephone audio sound! Ha! 😀😀😀
Knop of the Top of the Pops! Another great video, my friend. So cool. Wonder what it would take to turn that into a wireless mic and speaker? Heck, re-purpose it and call it The MagiWand. MagiWand! 1923's all new recordo-speaker. Wow family and neighbors with the MagiWand. Sold at all local Walgreens stores. $4.
Very nice
A piezo can be a speaker or a mic........... pretty versatile.

You need to speak in a transatlantic accent for old time authenticity. Old movie reel style.

I gotta say - DOOOD! Dat izzzz so stanking Awesome!!! I love seeing old ded stuff resurrected Dr. Frankenstein's Monster Style!!! Yessssss! But still, if there coulda been a way to fix it old school, capturing time and all that is more awesome. Oh well., sometimes we just gotta do whatever to make it do something. And that's cool. And I agree - I think its a Microphone.
