Welcome to my hood :)
DNF again, did you get stabbed?
I’d me more worried about the r@pe. A national sport in SA.
💀
Stabbed? For someone who is clearly trying to build a social media following disrespecting the place you have chosen to visit and race in seems an odd decision. This isn’t the first time either, remember you slagging Wales off in a previous video. All sounds a bit posh boy in the hood!
South Africa is way safer than London - so I have always found
Start your video with jokes about not being stabbed? Way to show appreciation to the locals who’ve shown you the warmest hospitality and train on those roads every day without issue.
Classic Harry Palmer, DNF.
go sit on a pole bro
South Africa is not that unsafe man. Port Elizabeth is one of the most safest towns in South Africa. It feels like you have been speaking to the wrong people here who gave you the wrong impression of this city.
”South Africa has notably high rates of violent crime and has a reputation for consistently having one of the highest murder rates in the world” from ”Crime in South Africa” on wiki
@vozzen don't believe everything you read, my friend. I have lived here my whole life. And yes, there is crime, but those statistics only happen in rural areas. If you don't go to these areas, you are completely safe.
@@jjpmoolman58 There is probably a reason why you have a lot of gated communities? Looking at Reddit posts for some more personal opinions from people living there, this was the top comment I found: ”I was hanging out with a person from SA one night. He told us it's not as dangerous as the media portrays and that it's a beautiful country and we should visit. Later in the night, after a few beers, he showed us his scars from the two times he had been stabbed.”
There seems to be a general interests from some residents to portray it as safer than it really is
I'm from Somerset West, and whenever PE is mentioned people freak out...
Most of South Africa is rural
So your a pro triathlete, spent months training for an event and not sure you have the right gearing, 2 days before a race. Mmmmmm
Well, the hills seemed steeper than he expected, so he tested and actually was ok on 58*30. Not sure your point..
@@ironmantooltimeEven seasoned pros like Sam Long can be found short: he had to borrow a 2-by for Singapore; which is far more odd than Harry’s dilemma given that Sam actually did Singapore last year … personally, I don’t know why the pros don’t start running that ‘virtual’ 2-by set up that Ruth Astle and Kyle Smith use with their ‘one-by’ set up.
@@andrewmetcalfe9898 sam did alpe dhuez long course on a one by in 2022. By the time he got to the top of the alpe he passed out and couldn't start the run, so he's got form 🤣
Looks like you didn't make the run. Hopefully not nutrition / gastro / dropped gels bottle again 🤢
Good luck Harry
