I would agree with more incentives for male humanities teachers, even affirmative action, as you suggest, in the form of scholarships. In addition, pay for all teachers generally is abysmal and needs to be raised to at minimum 68K minimum for such a highly trained and strategic profession. In addition to being better for boy learners, more men in teaching would leave a mark among faculty, which has achieved an over-feminized imbalance that is felt in hiring, curriculum, and policy decisions; and on the outside, it would enrich the whole conversation among men about education --it's value, purpose, the remedies for what ails it--because right now men see the field from the outside and don't seem to feel they have a stake. Consequently, what they do is doubt, and criticize, and minimize what they see is a failing endeavor.
