This is not a "fix" as others have accurately stated. It simply shows another way of starting the car, which can even be found in the manual. I am having this issue with my Audi key fob, and while this "solves" the problem to make the car usable, I am looking at actually fixing the issue with the keyless start.
Its helped several thousands of people out, I believe it is a great fix!

@@highmay3590 correct. it got my car started BUT I had to take my stupid key fob in to the dealer to get it reprogrammed to sync again. my S8 manual says, in this circumstance, "to see a dealer"! WTF.? So what does the dealer do for $120?? Does anyone know the secret? BS.
@@dadwhitsett Bump on this, would really love to know what they're charging $200 for. I can replace the battery myself but anything more than that - $200 down the drain. Seems a little crazy for something that is essential to the entire car working.

Thank you so much! My key fob would not show a red light when I pressed it and so it clearly did not communicate with the car. After putting the fob next to the start button for a few seconds, the red light started to work again when I pressed it!!!! Once again, thank you
That is not a fix. The key fob is still not working. you just used another way to turn on the car.

So my key fob works to lock and unlock and the trunk, what doesn’t work is the remote lock and unlock with proximity to the doors. Do you have a fix for this?

I know this was not the solution for some people. Either buy a new key battery or try to flip the battery in your car keys. This worked for me.

With all due respect, how is this titled a "fix"? The car's cluster screen already tells you where you hold your key to get the car started when the key fob is not recognized. It exactly displays what you are explaining here in this video. So this is not a fix by you, Audi already designed for this. Thanks!

All I am saying is what you are describing in your video is already being described and visually shown to you by your car, and very specific. TO answer your other question, I stumbled on this video while I was searching for a similar issue with my key-fob even after I have changed batteries. So...again... because you have titled your video (FIX!) which is misleading to say the least, your video showed up on my search and I thought someone probably came up with a solution! but no, it is what I already know. There is no reason to attack or get defensive when someone points something out to you. It is either called feedback, constructive criticism or correction. You have enabled these already on your video. I did say with All due respect, but it sounds like my comment may have rubbed you the wrong way because you know I am right and everything I said wasn't wrong. Thank you again for the video, but I stand by what I said, your video is not a fix, the title is misleading to more advanced Audi owners like myself and thousands more when we look for specific things. Selecting the right title and keywords for your videos matter otherwise our searches won't return accurate results. Much respect to you as a person and I don't mean to cause you harm or anything.
Well, that’s a shitty ass attitude to revert to as soon as someone gives you perfectly sound criticism. The car displays word for word what you are describing on the dash. My 5 year old niece could figure it out. Plus your first response is “you people are ungrateful for educational video that has helped thousands, I didn’t even make a buck on it”. Fucking really mate? I practice quite the restraint when it comes to commenting on useless CZcams videos. But this made the mark. Talk about Dunning-Kruger effect.
@@MrCARman you need to change the title from, "fix" to "a reminder that Audi has already built this into the car as an additional feature".... your "fix" isn't really a fix... that's like saying that my trunk isn't opening from the key fob so in order to "fix" it, I just press the switch below the 4 rings on my trunk and "VOILA! ITS NOW FIXED!!" No, it's not bc I still cannot open my trunk via remote- as it should.

I have a 2012 Audi A6. One of the key FOBs works fine but the other I had not used for some years. When I tried it recently it didn't work, so I replaced battery but still didn't work.
I tried the manual lock unlock door and then try, still didn't work.
Then tried placing FOB near the dashboard which shows key sign, and still nothing.
Has the key got desynced from the car. What else can I try?

I live an hour 1/2 away from an Audi dealership I need to know how to resync my key fob at home 😭😭😭 I let it go to longer before replacing battery. I’ve tried everything google says and nothing works.
You say " pedal"...there's 2 pedals. Anyway the dash told me push brake pedal to start engine but it didn't work. That's my style of FOB but nothing in any video is working. I checked voltage of my battery and it's fine.

2012 Audi A6
The head up display does not work. The mmi and radio, seats , locks work. The key fob does not work. What do you think could be wrong it happened right after I got home from the car wash
mine is 2017. After I installed the car camera, the remote is not functioning properly. Sometimes work sometimes doesnt. But the convenience key is fine to unlock/lock door and start engine. Seem the remote has the quota to unlock/lock, once I use up and the remote is not working...any ideas? Thanks
But how do you Actually fix the problem
My OEM key fob for Audi 2015 A4 will not start the Engine car remotely but the fob Locks, unlocks the doors and truck, it starts the car when it is inserted in dashboard, any suggestions what could be the problem.
My best guess is that your Audi does not have keyless push start. In those you have to insert the key and then push start

@@MrCARman I changed the battery & that solved most of the problem. But sometimes when I'm in the car and/or driving, the dash will alert me that if they keyfob is within range. Or it will alert me that the key isn't recognized 🤦🏻♂️

After replacing it's battery and still not working I found this video looking for other things I could try. The suggestions here did not help.

This is for a key that is programmed to the car, not for one that isn't. So if your spare is not programmed, then its off to Audi I'm afraid.

You need to buy the right battery for the key fob, meaning the correct voltage, I believe it will properly function if the battery output is 3.0 - 3.2 volts, anything less will give you issues. Also, name brands matter as well. For example Duracell works great while some other name brands don't. If with a new battery the key fob does not respond, meaning the red light on the fob itself is not turning on or flashing when pressing buttons on the fob, then you may have a defective key. You can also go into your car options in the MMI screen, and look at Registered Key Fobs with the vehicle. If you only see one, then it means you may either need to register the second one, or need a replacement. Hope this helps.
@@zheerrostam8108 thank you for detailed reply. I don't know how to check the key option in MMI screen. Will check. But battery is not the issue as red light turns on. Also I swapped batteries between the FOBS and one works, other doesn't.
@@mustajabrizvi so after I took my car to Audi and I used VCDS to perform a diag, it shows there is an antenna problem in the car. This antenna gets signal from the key when the key is inside the vehicle, so it can recognize a programmed key then the push-start button creates that connection, ultimately starting the car. From what I understand the antenna in in either one of the doors or the trunk, it is a module, so either the module needs to be changed or the wires, or it is possible dust or water, or even age has deteriorated this wire or the connection tip. So it will either be something cheap or expensive to fix. you Audi techs should be able to determine the absolute cause after they run the diag, then solve for those components one at a time until the issue is resolved. Hope this helps 🙂

it will tell you how many keys are programmed
unfortunately it wont tell you which ones or serial numbers. Audi software a your dealer can or in my case, I invested $400 in VCDS and the RossTech cabe to be able to diagnose my own car when I hear or fell a problem as every time I take it to the dealer, diag fee is $185 where I live in NOVA
