    Excellent vlog. It's great to see a young bloke doing well. The brickwork looks great, full credit to you. Have you ever watched Chalie Collison a bricklayer from England he's a master bricklayer and he gives so many tips on CZcams to other bricklayers. Well worth watching. Have a great day.

    Get yourself a pressure washer for your mixer. Just the cheapest from bunnings. Makes the mixer nice and clean

    get a sawdust shovel with a long handle, 2.5 meters or more, they can swing mud up easily with that, tell them not to fill the sawdust shovel.

    in Sydney at the moment a bricklayer is earning between $400 or $350 commercial sites $300 a day.. labourers get $250 or $300 a day for a single story’s a $1:40 Per brick for a double story $1:60 per brick with some places with the mud board you try and make people life easy if you help the bricklayer … the bricklayer will help you in favour cheers 🍻

      I thought there's brick rate may be higher in sydeny, 2.5$ for redered wall 3$ for face wall in perth. But here midland maxi special bricks used and we build double brick house

Such as maxi brick 190, solid or cored and what ‘s difference of them about value, compression capacity and bending capacity, and cost between type of brick, so great video, hope we are keep touch for design in the office and built house on site.

    I work in the Eastern Suburbs $77+ per hour. If you want to make some serious money get away from the volume home builders.

      Couldn’t agree more. It’s not all about how many bricks a day. Specialised skilful tradesmen are hard to find and can command big bucks in private domestic work.

    Another great video.
    What about footings, would you do them?
    We have done a lot here in Ireland with the bloody heavy blocks .😅 Last year before the Winter we were doing only footings for 2 months. (the Builders wanted to get it done before the wet and cold.) It was back braking.

      Hey there János! The brickwork here is different, or to my experience at the moment. We lay veneer brickwork to slab on ground. If I ever do footings, I'll have to get it on camera! Thanks for watching our videos!

      And Ty, do you need to use a steel-mesh or something to attached to the concrete where is the cavity?

      Yes! Steel mesh for the concrete, and the cavity for veneer brickwork is a 40mm cavity between the brickwork and the stud frame

About the price, when you say for example 1.30 per brick is that labor, mortar, bricks, sand all included? Just curious what the rate is for just the actual labor if you don't mind my asking.       Hey there! Thanks for that! So the rates I said usually include supply and lay, however not all builders are the same and sometimes may have a higher rate but not supply anything!

    Put a milk crate under the muddy and get the apprentice a longer shovel lol its not harder from a laboring perspective its just part of the job lol each to their own but 🤙

      You just take the blueprints and do the math. Take the whole square footage and then subtract all the openings. There ya go

    i had to stand on the wheel barrow to hit mud boards 14ft high thats 10 years ago. Milk crate makes your life easier labour makes your life easier. Milk crate is a cheap labourer

      Are those the clay blocks or actual 230 x 110 x 86 bricks? It can't be that high for a normal brick,must be those blocks

      It's the going rate most homes in w.a are built with maxi bricks . Standard bricks are rare , Also double skin walls here as well . Few years back it was 80c a brick .

    Most people think it's just laying a brick U have to build the whole house they have absolutely no idea how much is involved. $10 a brick should be the going rate.all the builders and sellers are making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Stop working let them build all there houses .80 cents a brick is for free. Now all of a sudden gone up a little even a $160 is crap

    Its pretty unheard for a bricklayer to be making 35- even 40’s in sydney.
    Labourers get paid 30-40
    It starts at 45-60 for residential and goes up till like 80 for the union sites including allowances
