I love the determination and skill of this sport! I aslo do it but definitely at MUCH lower level than this! I would not be that courageous and jump then massive jumps! Well done to all the people who jumped there!!
@@ninamatthews8747 1) No, I don't. 2) The same reason any other sport is a sport - because someone started it. 3) Probably someone in Finland who had the guts to do it publicly. People have been doing this privately for a very long time.
It’s honestly my dream to go to the Finnish hobby horse championships I hope one day i will go but I need lots of training and also I live in the USA so I would have to travel there and traveling on airplanes are one of my biggest fears but also when your tall you kinda have a little advantage in these shows
As a hobby horse showjumper you have to train so much of your stamina for the shows and train yourself with high jumps you can roll your ankle on and i have done that before rolling your ankle on a pole is not fun-
Ok This is awesome don’t get me wrong, I do it too, but I don’t think is qualifies as a sport. It is rlly amazing.. but I think the real sport is riding a real horse.
I think what they mean is the amount of jumps there is and how much stamina you would need to be able to jump around 10-15 (maybe even 10-20) jumps of that height
@@harlsroloYeah! And with all of the combos and turns added into that. You can't just flow. There's a lot of slowing down and jumping from almost no momentum!
Riding real horses is not the same as hurdling. While both, horse-back riding and hobbyhorsing are though sports, hobbyhorsing and horse-back riding both are very different from eachother. They both use different types of muscle-strentgh. And theres also people like me, who just do not want to ride real horses :). I do hobbyhorsing for the athletics and the roleplay-part.
Riding real horses is expensive and not as affordable for many. Also nowadays some people don't want to force animals over jumps they might avoid otherwise. Probably this sport was created from kids' playing, but it became a rather challenging and serious issue - at least on that level.
is it scientifically proved its a healthy sport? is the technique used in those jumps verified by professional trainers? i understand it could be a hobby but if its taken to the point of competition and constant training, now thats a serious deal, because it can cause accidental injuries @@M54sBurrow
This is the most ridiculous sport ever! It’s like they were to scared to get on a real horse so they do this! It dose look fun but the fact that it’s a sport😂!
Are there no boys who do this, as they always seem to be girls? While I must give recognition to, and great admiration for their amazing athletism, real horses simply look far more graceful jumping. These competitors just IMO always look awkward to watch. 🫤
My stamina would DIE LMAO
This looks so tough!! Having MONTHS of training makes sense! One day I hope to be able to do something like this XD
Those jumps are basically 2 times taller than me-

Go there by seahorse perhaps?
What is that? A sport? What do they need the horse toy for?
the last girl did it as if the jumps were 10cm not 110- i could never, im only jumping 80cm rn D:
if i did that i would fall flat on my face
what the hell, this is amazing, why have I never heard of this?!
That's exactly what I was thinking when I found out about it a few years ago, lol.
And people still refuse to call real horse riding a sport, but we’re supposed to call this a sport. Miss me with that.
It's much better when all the sane people leave the room. Loved it.
I can barley jump 60 cm with a hobby horse
Being tall certainly is an advantage

There are some horses that can’t even do this… wow
The 5th girl tho❤❤❤❤
The horses show predictable behaviour.
Im way shorter than the jumps..
Sie würde bestimmt leichter drüberkommen, wenn sie das Plüschtier weglassen würde. Jemand sollte ihr einen Tipp geben.
