    Join me and my four Lovebirds; Alice Grace, Feathers, Violet, and Sebastian, in setting up their 30 x 18 large flight cage with a lot of perches, toys, a swing, and their food and water bowls. I used multiple rope perches, a natural rope perch, a nice swing with two bells, a wood perch, and multiple toys and shreddie items. I also put in a cuddle bone, a mineral block, and I used corn cob bedding at the bottom of the cage.
    The things I used in this video were shown in my haul in the previous video I filmed which I will link here:
    I also give advice on the size dimensions of a cage needed for Lovebirds and other small species of birds. The cage and diet are two of the most important things you can provide with your bird along with love and playtime. You need to get the biggest cage you can afford and I always recommend a flight cage for the smaller species of birds, canaries, finches, lovebirds, english budgies, parrotlets, parakeets, bourke parakeets, beebee parakeets, linnies, and more!

    Update: They have been upgraded to a large flight cage that suits them well. In this video they were all still young but with age they constantly were getting upgraded to larger cages. (The cage they are in now is their 3rd cage) czcams.com/video/tMdtWb3vp1k/video.html

    That cage is a good size for one lovebird I'd say two at most... that many seems a bit much on the crowded side. I kept my 3 budgies in a 36x24x40" cage and even that seemed crowded. I'd say something more double the space... would be better.

      Thanks for the suggestion, since they are all siblings they like to be close to each other 24/7 but they still have room to fly in! They also get daily exercise outside their cage as well (:

      Hi, great set up, I am pretty sure your love birds are going to love their new soace, toys, and perches. I have a rope perch (and a petty perch) on the outside of our conures cage which also has a plan top. Yours has a nice big flat top, and you could also set up a plan area with ladders, perhaps one of your dowel perches sanded, etc. To make it a bit uneven? And a couple of toys, water dish, etc? But you already have a great home for your birds...these are just a few suggestions as time goes on...:) ♡

      it is not difficult, use wood, make the cage as long as possible, that gives the lovebirds distance to fly, put natural branches in the cage, but be careful, what kind of tree you chose. The following site seems to be useful. Kind regards.

  • @choronzon.333
    @choronzon.333 Před 6 lety +1

    Super cute lovebirds BTW, I love the blues!!!!! I have a pair also, my female is peach face and the male is the sea green. I got them as "retired" breeders but since I've had them in a nice big pretty cage with all the things they could ever wish for, compared to the bare min blank cage in the basement the former owner had them in, it think she's feeling hormonal again. A sunny window and a brand new house has her mating and nesting....so maybe there will be babies! I don't want to breed but if at her age (5-6) she wants to give it one more go I'll let her, I'll help her too, if she let's me!

    • @BrighterDaysAviary
      @BrighterDaysAviary  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi! I am so glad you decided to adopt retired breeders. (: I would recommend NOT letting them breed though. I am sure she is retired for a reason. There are so many complications that can happen when she is egg laying, feeding chicks, etc. She can get egg bound, which is the egg getting stuck inside her and that is fatal. Also she may abandon or pick on the babies for whatever reason and you will need to step in and start handfeeding. Babies who are 0-1 weeks old will need to be fed every 1-2 hours, around the clock, even at night with a dropper. Can you do this? Do you have a brooder and handfeeding formula and experience with handfeeding? Handfeeding is very very complicated and very very risky. So may things can go wrong like aspirating the formula, crop infections, crop injury, and so much more. Please reconsider letting her lay eggs.

      They are actually all siblings and they all sleep cuddled into one another lol, sometimes the two girls don't agree on certain things and they get into arguments and small squabbles but they make amends with each other like a few hours later lol! Don't worry my babies are spoiled. And that is a flight cage.

      Lin Framauro siblings can kill each other. It doesn't matter if their siblings when the hormones start raging. You have too many in that cage. I have a cage bigger than this and I have 2 in it. 2 lovebirds are supposed to have at least a 24x24 cage. Way too many. Seriously

      Thanks for your concern. My babies are spoiled and loved greatly. They are also always getting cage upgrades and they fly around daily in my huge screened in porch. The small clip you see here is not a representation of their whole life nor of what they do everyday. They have all passed sexual maturity and they are doing great together and they love each other very much. (:

      Brighter Days Aviary why do you keep saying there spoiled? and frankly i dont think you should wait for something bad to happen and hope it doesnt i think you should take action so that none of your birds get hurt

    More like double cage. A proper flight cage is 24"x24"x48"

      You would be pleased to see their new cage now! They were still young in that video but throughout their life have constantly been getting upgraded to a larger cage.

    Colorful pallets and seeds are not good for any birds

  • @notusingthisaccanymore4819

    your cage needs more toys and instead of those smooth sticks use natural ones because it bad for your birds feet

    I see that your birds get colored pellets. They are unhealthy. Seeds are unhealthy too. Both of them can cause your bird to have fatty liver disease.

    Please don’t use mirror toys in your bird cage they can become obsessed with their own image and that can cause hormonal unbalances and lead to starvation

    • @sherissaelise4879

      Blueberry Dreamz there is more than one bird so it’s okay but if she only has one bird than it’s bad because it will definitely want to like the bird reflection and also the mirror is only big enough to see the head so they can’t see a while bird in it

    Im sorry i am devastated by how small that cage is. My ONE lovebirds cage is four times that size. Please at least double the space and do ur research

    Take that mirror toy out! Mirrors can cause birds to become hormanal and aggresive.
