You are forgetting a very important point: The boot picker timeout is set o 5 seconds by default. You can either reduce it to 0 sec, or click Return to boot instantly. Booting is therefore faster with OCLP.
thnx for the comparison. I previously tried a sonoma OCLP upgrade on a 2010 13" MBP with 8 gb, which was not a success. It is aways nice if someone tested sonmething before👍. Will try on the same laptop you showed
Thanks for share this comparison I am thinking about moving to Sonoma but going to wait out a wile for now so if any or all bugs are fixed :)

Thank you bro! I’m installed Sonoma on the same Mac and i think that it work worth then Ventura and Monterey. Thought about downgrading, but now I prefer Sonoma))
I was waiting that video on CZcams)
It work´s fine but i noticed that fans run more often after the update.
Has there been any change in battery usage time?
This video encouraged me to used OCLP to upgrade me 2015 MBP 13 with 8GB Ram and I have been using it for the last couple of days. It definitely seems to work well and while some load times might be slightly longer, the overall the general UI seems just as smooth or maybe even smoother. However, one thing I am having issues with is running old mpeg videos - quick time no longer runs it and I have to use VLC and every now and then it does lag a little bit. On Monterey I didn't have any issues with this.
is it smoother on Sonoma than on Monterey?
I've been using it daily as my main computer for about 3 weeks now and I don't really think there is any noticeable difference. Sonoma might be slightly smoother in interface and animations but load times might be slightly longer if that makes sense. Obviously these MBP are getting pretty old now and they aren't going to be super smooth especially with 8GB Ram but I find it perfectly usable for my needs for now until I get enough money to upgrade. @@jerryx2000
so then what is the point of upgrading? I have a 2015 MBP running Monterey @@arjunprema2486
подскажите, температура выросла или нет?
@@user-ci8gd4lu6v почти уверен что нет, просто нужно хорошенько обслужить его
keep it up , i would you to make a video on sonoma dynamic wallpaper, and live screen on macbook pro 2015 and see the speed < with either i5 or i7 processors
Will the automatic upgrade to a minor version of Sonoma (e.g., 14.0 -> 14.0.1) work seamlessly, or does it necessitate manual intervention?
You can update normally and after installing you have to apply patches again via OCPL.
Thank you for the comparison have you noticed any usability issues on sanoma? And can you do a video on Sanoma only running xcode and different heavy apps
Iam sorry but I cant help you with xcode (I never used it). I did not notice any spikes in performance in basic tasks. Everythink was smooth as far as I can tell
I'm running ventura on OCLP; should you do a fresh install of sonoma can you get away with an update install and keep the files?
please run online javascript benchmark test Octane 2.0 , and basemark web 3.0 test on browsers, safari and chrome on both systems
Sonoma with OCLP works fine in MBA mid 2013 I7 8Gb
You can disable the OCLP Boot Menu in the Settings.
Cómo se le quita eso
@@bachi-vlogs8295 inicia oclp y luego presiona configuración y hay una opción para deshabilitar el gestor de arranque. Luego tienes que "Construir e instalar Opencore" nuevamente.
Thank you man!
You can select skip boot picker in open core
What about filevault2 and SIP? Is it working?
Is battery life is still good?
Can you please make a comparison video between MACBOOK AIR M1- Montery VS Ventura VS Sonoma
it is the same but Mac OS venture and Sonoma create a significative performance gain because apple optimise and upgrade metal 3
no need, that thing is powerful enough to run macos updates for another 10 years lol
Updated my MBP 2015 simialrly from Monterey to Sonoma. Apart from a few minor bugs, the machine is actually running smoother than on Monterey.
wait how is it supported

everything work great on 2014 macmini i7 16gigs of ram but for me it just does not seem usable for anything with out maxing out the cpu, but i been using fedora for a while and the mac seems great. just linux is not cutting it for some of the stuff i do. so thank you for this video. is there anyways i can make a macmini 2014 i7 any faster. i done all the upgrades that i can
It only has 2 cores, that is probably why it isn't performing as well as you want it to.

Wish you were using 16 gb MacBook pros.
How is the battery life? Same on both?
Yeah I'm wondering the same.
Does 2015 MacBook Pro supports Mac OS Sonoma?
No, it does not. In order to get macOS Sonoma on a 2015 MacBook Pro, you use OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
LOL, me, I installed Windows 11 instead of Ventura or Sonoma on my Macbook Pro 2015, and it works great for me being a Windows user for decades. I find the File and Storage Management System in Mac too cumbersome.
Im Stickin with monteray cause im getting that cheese
what do you think if it's Macbook Pro 2014? would it be the same or ...?
If its with addition gpu ist will be even faster
Depends on the RAM. 2014 with 16gb will be better. From what I see on activity monitor, Sonoma routinely uses more than 8 gb of RAM.
every retina macbook from 2013 to 2015 have exactly the same performance and design, so yes
can you get imovie to work on montery? I'm unable to...
Same bro
went back down to catalina. works perfect @@avjoyboi3750
Thanks
I installed sonoma on a late 2015 Mac and it got very hot. Also it didn't work that fast. Accept reality guys. It's nice to see your computer flying with a supported operating system.
There are only: Early 2015 and Mid 2015.
@@andriidorohov2044actually, there is a Late 2015 iMac
I'm using sonoma on my mbp 13 i5 16gb mid 2012 since 3 weeks. Of course is a little slower than monterey and even than ventura, but i think it's worth it because you can use again all the apps.......then U have no choise or at least the choise is to buy a brad new mac .
Its worth the update? Camera and all stuffs works? Thank you!
I think I tried everything and I didn't notice any issues during use

Would you guys recommend to update my macbook air of 4 GB from monterrey to sonoma? Thanks :)
Only if you can update to 8 GB.
@@DrNova-hj6co Nah it cannot. It's soldered to the motherboard. It is possible of course, but pretty hard
sonoma uses 4 gb ram on macbooks with 8 gb so i think u will have performance issues
Does widgets works ?
Yup
I'm still very happy with my MacBook Pro from early 2015 and it already hurts me to know it wont get security updates anymore from the end of 2024 on. Sure, I could run Sonoma with OCLP but it wont be the official support from Apple. I don't want a new MacBook because the one I have still has a fantastic Display, Keyboard, Trackpad, good performance, the style of the old MacBooks and last but not least a 1 TB NVME which would cost a fortune in the new MacBooks...
