I have legit been wanting to do this. I recently started praying the rosary. I’m on Day 21 and it has already changed my life for the better. I don’t have an amazing story or anything it’s just makes me feel good and I enjoy it. I’d like to make a prayer corner.
As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, yes we do have prayer corners! And prayer corners are highly suggested even if you guys are not Catholic or Orthodox. I have in my prayer corner an Icon of Christ, an Icon of Mother Mary (Theotokos) and my patron saint and a saint and saint John and a incense burner and vigil lamp and candles and a Prayer Rope!! I have about 15 icons.
I'm Orthodox so we have a family one in our dinning room. I then have one in my office, the kids have one in each of their rooms as well. We started having them praying in their corners to establish good habits. We all have icons, crosses, and a battery operated candle that stays on. Then at the family icon we have a vigil lamp that has olive oil in it and we fill it up daily as part of our worship to God. Then a sensor where we have our incense burning when we do morning and evening prayers as a family and of course candles we light up during those prayers. All of them face east as well. Oh we also had them all icons blessed like you mentioned when our Priest comes over during his yearly house blessings. If we get new ones during the year he blesses them during the service.
@@user-wq7mm1no1j Thats going to be part of your journey to find out. Both Churches come from the same original church so don't misguided into thinking that the Cathotolic Church is the only one. In the end it will come down to how original Church do you want to be part of? The EO isn't perfect but we don't change with what we have down for the last 2 thousand years. When we look at things its always through is this the right mindset and was this the intentintion that the early church wanted us to have? The West changes with the times and is always trying to find answers to things through their intellect. I started off looking at the west and then ended up in the EO because of the unchanging teachings. But I think if you keep an open mind and just look at both sides you will find the church right for you.
Was never disciplined with prayer, as that came to me naturally, worshipping God as we SHOULD, but my teacher did took the time to explain to myself and my peers WHY what we did was wrong, whatever our mistakes or misdeeds were, using examples and lessons from the Bible to elaborate on why we're wrong and how we can better ourselves. :D
Hi Amber!! can you make a video on your thoughts about studying theology? Like in a graduate level (ie Masters Program) for lay people... I've heard many people who are against it and so many people for it... The people for it have two things to be prepared, for utilization as a job, or simply for the "status" behind the degree. The people against it claim that some programs seem to be liberal and also portray in students a very specific view according to their programs not in an objective view, and that it can create a conflict spiritual because they might lose the spiritual aspect when studying theology. The reason why I ask is more personal, but if you can't make a video, then please let me know your thoughts! I want to do one to pursue education, learn more and better, and use it in my community whether that is to build programs, create resources, and teach people overall (mostly young adults), and write books and so on... thank you and I love your content! May God bless you always!!!
Wonderful video! Ask your priest to perform the enthronement ritual of the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in your home (or prayer corner). The Marian Catechist Apostolate has great info on this.
❤❤❤❤I'm not catholic but this still interests me i love the idea im making one that portable so it can travel with me wherever I go im hoping to make it precious moments theme like my bible great ideas this❤❤❤❤
I know you didn’t ask me, but the Baltimore catechism, or the Catechism of the Council of Trent are great. Both are truly, fully Catholic, not modern, liberal garbage.
"Have the priest over for dinner" tHe ImAgE I set up a space used for prayer and reading a month or two ago, inspired by your prayer corner I had seen in your vlogs! I put a bench and my bookshelves under my loft bed. I also put a blanket and pillows on the floor. I usually sit on the floor and use the bench as a kneeler when I'm moved to kneel while I'm praying. I have this empty wall that I would like to fill with sacred art, any suggestions on where to get art to print/prints of sacred art?
Love is not real because if it was we would not be trying to get someone to change or appying conditions to "love" someone. Im a trans girl and my mother is trynna force me to detransition, and that is not love, its narcissism because she wants me to be "her son" at the cost of my mental health and well being she only "loved" me because of what she thought i would be when i grew up. I am 23 next month and by now she thought i would be this "grad student who has a good job and engaged". That's why she "loved me" and that's wrong. We litterally try to emulate "love" the way it is in story books, TV shows, cartoons, movies and video games, but still we cant even get it right. Its just like trying to emulate a PS2 game on PCSX2 (PS2 Emulator) and still with the latest hardware cant get it to run well, so yeah basically "love" in real life is like this we love you under the condition that you are going to be how we want you to be, that's how it is like we cant emulate love just like how my Xbox Series S emulates an Xbox 360 game or an Original Xbox game with no problems at 1440p60.
I'm really sorry that you have to go through this with your mother and I understand how that could make you not believe in love. However, I feel like it would be a bit more beneficial for you to at least try to find real love in other places rather than denouncing its entire existence. Maybe you could find it through another person or maybe you could find it in God. Just my thoughts though! Also, on your thing about gaming consoles, love would have to have been found in some way originally or we would have nothing to attempt to emulate, thus making it real and that it can be found somewhere. Praying for you!
@@gloriadtrick So you know how they show love on movies and TV shows? So basically watching that makes my heart warm up especially in cartoons because the characters love each other no matter what he or she do and no matter how he or she is. That's love right there so if we as humans as a society can portray that kind of love then we could have a way better society ya know.
@@HeathenGranny Oh yeah, I totally agree with you on that, we definitely need more selfless love in our world. Cartoons are usually the best at showing this kind of love because they are created, usually, with a child-based audience in mind and tries to relate to their feelings so they understand. Children are usually the best at showing this love because they often don't have very high expectations towards people, they just love them and want to be loved in return.
Prayer is discouraged in school but encouraged in prison. Maybe if it were encouraged in school, there would be no need to go to prison.
That is an excellent thought. Makes sense to me!

I home schooled eight kids so every inch of the house was filled. Now they are gone and I love these ideas for filling up an empty space. Great video!
Can you do a video on all your rosaries, statues, crucifixes, sacramentals, paintings, icons, etc., and where you got them?
I’ve been a Catholic for over a year, and have been working quite a bit on having a prayer corner, even till now. Thanks for the video!

Great and very helpful video. I was really looking forward to you making a video about this.
Amber, what Catechism do you recommend? I want one that's not infiltrated with liberal ideals and is true to the Catholic church.
I know you didn’t ask me, but the Baltimore catechism, or the Catechism of the Council of Trent are great. Both are truly, fully Catholic, not modern, liberal garbage.
