  • Welcome the Canadian Farm Progress Show here in Regina, SK. Unfortunately the show is very empty and quite poor but we ll try to make the best out of it! I hear they have Minni Donuts! 😆
    ** For more fun, weekly polls, pictures, flash backs, Ashtyn & Chapel, and more interactive content check our Patreon Account! 🙂
    www.patreon.co...
    ** Also check out our website to learn a little more about our family farm.
    The new merchandise thing has really been cramping our style due to time... But it's all in and I do believe it's all up on the website now, be sure to check it out!
    We have some other things planned for ya but are running out of hours in a day. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience. 🙂
    Ps: Mike models when Ashtyn brings out food and Chapel for tractor rides 🤷‍♂️😂🤦🏻‍♂️

    The big "mother bin" they're referred to, is parked on the edge of the field usually, your grain carts empty the combines and dump into the mother bin, and your semis can load from the mother bin while everything else is in motion to cut down on delays. Big stuff out in Australia and loads of these giant mother bins. You guys could benefit from them too I'm sure.
    Glad to see everyone is doing well.

  • @norlag
    @norlag Před 2 lety +66

    That big bin on wheels are quite common down under. Call them a mother bin. Like you said put them in your field, chaser unloads into the mother bin, truck loads out of the motherbin

    • @JLittleVegemite
      @JLittleVegemite Před 2 lety

      The Coolamon bins are 200 tonnes. That seems like a lot, but you can always use more.

    • @JLittleVegemite
      @JLittleVegemite Před 2 lety +3

      Mother bins are for efficiency in grain handling not storage. Quite common here in Oz especially where distance is an issue. It still won’t solve mikes bin shortage problems.

    • @nikphoenix
      @nikphoenix Před 2 lety +1

      Do most of them use a attached engine or do you use a tractor? I know of several farms in western Kansas/Eastern Colorado that use them that way.

    • @JLittleVegemite
      @JLittleVegemite Před 2 lety

      I have only ever seen them with a tractor for power.
      You need the tractor to move the mother bin and it may move often to maximise efficiency.

    Word is the row unit on that seedMaster Is still bouncing side to side as we speak

    • @ke6gwf
      @ke6gwf Před 2 lety

      You are wrong. The constant stress of bouncing from side to side led to fatigue failure and it's currently broken off and lying on the floor.
      Interestingly enough, the bouncing row unit started the whole machine vibrating, and the sudden shock as the metal snapped led to several other parts falling off the machine, and it's currently dancing around like a badly loaded washing machine.
