Pattern for those who find it helpful:
Tie yarn onto hair tie, ch 1
R1: sc around hair tie (36-45), sl into 1st sc
R2: ch 3, 3 tr in every sc around, sl into 1st tr
FO, weave in ends
US abbreviations used: (sc - single crochet, tr - treble crochet, ch - chain, FO - fasten off, sl - slip stitch)

I would recommend for people who are beginners, or if you (like myself) are visually impaired, to use a stitch marker on the 1st single crochet and treble crochet so its a bit easier to see where everything starts

Those pony tails bands dont last in tropical heat. So im going to try normal elastic. I used to make these for my own daughter 20 yrs ago for her dance buns. . The chenille yarn i can get in Australia might look cute.
I'm ngl, but, I was quite intimidated by looking at the scrunchie in the beginning.
1) You crochet really fast in other videos. 2) I don't have a great experience with velvet yarn. It ended up turning out sooo well. I was not expecting it to be only 2 stitches!🤣 Thank you for this tutorial. ❤❤❤

Hi Kelsie, I love your videos! I was wondering how you do them with the outline of a different colour?
By the looks of most of them from her blogs she does the first sc in one colour and the trebbles in the other colour
I made one and it’s so cute! But my a run goes after adding even just 20 sc stop shrinking fully back to size, they wind up not quite as stretchy as a result. Are my sc stitches too tight perhaps?

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but are these scrunchies meant to be twisted like regular hair ties? Or do they just stay on without falling off because of the ruffles?

Possibly try to fit more sc around the hair tie, should be around 30+ then when you are doing the trebles make sure you aren’t skipping any stitches since they are so close together they’re easy to miss :)

Go under the band(same as going through a stitch) yarn over, pull through the band, yarn over again, pull through to do a sc

What brand are your ponytail holders. The ones that I'm using are not stretchy at ALL, so my scrunchies come out too tight for the hair, only usable for tiny wrist accessories.
