I’ve been a goth / metalhead since I was at least 13 years old, and I’m now 33. Suffice to say it isn’t a phase for some of us.
It's definitely not a phase. Once a goth always a goth. I'm 50 and it's still with me.

I've been accused of being goth since the mid 90s. Maybe there's something to what people keep telling me, if only I cared.
I've never refuted it, so there's that I guess.

I'm not goth but I think goth culture is cool because the people do not care bout trying to fit into the norm that other people think is normal. They do their own thing and r enjoying life

Daniela Monti I think that if you dresses neatly for your own self, that also shines on you and people will notice. Caring about how you look isnt necessarily something you do just to get approval, but it can show that you take care of yourself.
I'm a goth at heart but a lot of the stuff is expensive.. only thing i have is new rocks, CDs and a bunch of bits n bobs ornament-wise

They are a Goth version of The Cult. Jyrki is one of those personalities you are not going to forget when you meet him. My ex-room mate passed my first book to Jyrki in 2006 when she was in California, and when he played House of Blues in February of 2007. I commented to him about looking at his comic book. Jyrki said he was reading this book and seen the author photo, "Who is this guy? I have to meet him."

Why have I never seen a 35 year old gothic girl? Except on f***ing TV! I had 2 Goth girlfriends in the 90's but since then it has become commercialised, like all Fashion Nation an s**t. Goth dance clubs have all but dried up, have you ever seen a hot goth girl dance? It is the most wildly stimulating experience you can have without touching! I LOVE goths, I'm not one, but I LOVE the attitudes and the style and they really turn a brutha on. Always have, always will! Where the hell are you?

We have youtube channels, now, so it's all the more easy for us to communicate with one another, and/or give people who wish to become like us some degree of inspiration for themselves.
+Kevin Martin I wanted to give another option. Black Skull is totally right. Search youtube. I recommend itsblackfriday and toxictears as two options of goth youtubers. Another thing is many have gone quiet. I refer to it as 'going to sleep'. I am still Goth at heart and will dress accordingly when I can, but it is too expensive a life style for me to embrace fully anymore. A good white foundation can cost over $50 and just a pair of shoes can go for several hundred, black lipstick just isn't made the same anymore. It's not practical for someone broke like myself. I do what I can but its not the same.
