      Didn't a US Senator get his luggage stolen from a parking garage? A few news crews were robbed out on the streets once while filming a news segment. The police chief tells the people he's sworn to protect " just leave your car doors unlocked so the car thieves won't break your windows. But hey people have varying degrees on what's the definition of " safe"

    • @livinginsanfranciscoca
      @livinginsanfranciscoca  Před měsícem +7

      If you leave valuables in open view in any large city in the world- your car is going to get broken into. I think there is a big difference between being safe and having your car broken into. Is it annoying, YES! Has it happened to me, YES! Do I wish it wasn't the case, Absolutely! Would it make me not move to SF or move out, no. It's all about weighing the pros and the cons and that list will be different for everyone!

    Most these people have properties in other areas including Silicone Valley. At least an apartment condominium for business purposes. Some people are able to live their life as business expense write off. Most realtors pay close attention to the smaller properties in those neighborhoods. Shorter buying cycle and better indicator of SF market. I have new condos sit on Van Heights or be delisted and a flat with questionable parking sell near the Pacific Campus 3 blocks away. 2 blocks from there a place over priced was delisted. It was a house though. Russian Heights as a I call it heats up when city business M&A picks up.

      X leaving is a blow for sure, but not a surprise. Elon has never gotten along well with SF.
      I love him but I knew when he took over, I knew they would leave. Google is just consolidating offices. They still have a ton of real estate in SF and they are not leaving. As for office spaces yes, they are on sale but this is due to the change in work from home. Many companies like open AI are taking advantage of getting into these offices for good prices.

    • @oos232
      @oos232 Před 29 dny

      @@livinginsanfranciscoca The problem is not office space, it is a result of city policies. The city government is a huge problem, and crazy corporate taxes are being spent on the marginalized and the homeless (on drugs, etc.) instead of improving the city and the lives of city residents. But these citizens voted for it, which means they deserve it. SF is dying and will die if nothing changes. Market str is already dead.
