    I spent way too much time looking for a way to make a tapered loft along a spline work, and finally learned about the flex tool through your video. Hopefully that will solve my problem. Thanks!

    The RAM makes a lot more sense now. I have a complicated part that I tried flexing in two directions and it made it impossible to even undo.

    I'm trying to create a cylindrical bicycle handlebar grip with a certain shape as relief on the surface. First I tried creating the grip and then adding the relief using 3D Texture and now I'm working on creating a flat version and bending it using Flex. Both options ask more from my pc than it can give and make the files unworkable.
    Is there a better way to do this?

    I'm sooo using this tool to produce an idea I had in mind. I believe this is a tool that should be used for a very limited amount of practical objects. But, it could be used to created unique parts. Be creative all the tools can be used and combined in various was if you are creative.

      careful! This tool is the last resort! you don't want to overuse it. It is heavy and complex to edit. just saying

    SHOULDN'T use. Hummmm smells like a clickbait video title to suck people into watching. I feel this way because Aryan gave no reasonable reason for not using this feature other than it takes a lot of computation time. Just one more channel to block from recommendations. I will stick with CAD channels that don't feel the need to use clickbait.

    • @with-Aryan

      How many other reasons do you need?

    • @paulmiller7078
      @paulmiller7078 Před rokem

      I have been told by several engineers to avoid the flex tool. I was not sure why and found this video by searching for why not to use the flex tool. I think there are more reasons than just compilation time, since you lose control of the way the geometry forms that you could retain if you use other features, but that's probably beyond most of the audience of the video. There's clickbait, and then there's a teacher genuinely conveying an industry trend to avoid a feature in Solidworks without going too in depth. Find something better to do than leaving unconstructive comments on youtube.

    • @bpetnoi1472
      @bpetnoi1472 Před rokem +2

      @@paulmiller7078 Paul I don't find Aryan's opinion as a valid reason for not using the flex command. I do however find the term "Shouldn't use" as clickbait as it is a term that draws people into investing a claim. If the video title was "The Flex command, it will slow down your work" I would not have felt this was clickbait. I guess we are down to what one considers misleading. So I think my opinion is as good as your negative one about mine being unconstructive. To put a finer point on the discussion the flex command is not all that a problem on a very robust machine with lots of RAM, high-end multicore CPU, and high-end graphic cards.
