This game just proves the point that the 2019 tourney was one of the best in NCAA March Madness history..
One of the greatest games of all time
Most definitely the greatest performance I've watched at the collegiate level missing the how there is no tournament this year had to relive this
Virginia had maybe the most exciting tournament run I've ever seen. One amazing game after another.
gordons-alive I was at that game....it was so loud, you couldn’t hear yourself talk...
If you look back Virginia tipped the ball across the half court line so it should have been an over and back
Big Money Reaper a tip-out off a missed free throw doesn’t establish possession. Without possession, there’s no over and back.
Man this was a heavyweight fight, big shot after big shot both teams should consider themselves winners
The pass by Clark at the end of regulation is so underrated
In the words of Ty Jerome in the postgame press conference, Kihei made “the play of the century” with that pass, and only after looking off both him and Kyle Guy, who were screaming for the ball at midcourt.
One of the best college b-ball games all time. Great performance by both teams.

Not really it was the worst decision a coach ever made

As a Purdue fan this game still breaks my heart
Drew Gage it was a cheat game fosho
😔
If it helps, and I know it doesn’t, Virginia fans know all about tournament heartbreak, so we do know how you feel. It was an incredible game. You guys played your guts out and I got nothing but respect for your coach, players and program after. In the end, it was just our year, but for this performance-and because I know how heartbreaking it was having been on the other side of it more than once ourselves-I’ll happily root for Purdue in future tourneys if Virginia’s not playing.
@@abbyik7357 how was it a (cheat) game? I'll wait for you to present the facts to me on how, hurry up now!
Sad man… from a Purdue fan
Truly the best basketball game I've ever seen
NCAA March Madness saved the best game for last!
Honestly 1:30:47 is one of my favorite moments of this game (especially since there were soooooo many to choose from!!) ! I'm a Virginia alum but Carson BALLLLLLLLED out and was just insane all game. But you just gotta love the sportsmanship between the 2 here.
1:28:57 - I've never jumped out of a chair harder in my life
Timesink me too
I was already standing, but I still jumped up in the air!
It's been 51 weeks since. I'm attempting to watch for the 2nd time. It's still so serile for me. Great Game indeed.
It took me until now that I was emotionally ready to watch this game again. Great game.
2019 was the most epic Elite Eight since 2005.
Thinking about rewatching this is already giving me chills. My dad and I almost broke through the floor that night
I simply think us purdue fans loved virginia fans. This is the best college basketball game ever played. Purdue always has our “guy”. Sith surrounding cast. But carsen was different. I was here. Im a purdue fan. And i love virginia. Great friends. Great sportsmanship. I feel like us 2 programs have a respect. But also a rivalry. Its a friendly rivalry.
Ty jerome off the tip got away with the worst travel lf all time. Virginia “won”. But oh man. This game belonged to the boilers. Cavs were lucky, they won. And now its purdues time
Is the sound about a half second off for everyone else?
yea
Yes, even in the first half.
Ya
Yes.
Yes
I'm a Purdue fan and losing this game didn't hurt as much as other Purdue losses. They left it all on the court and had the win until a freak play got it to OT.
Chris: “Clark is such a good point guard he always keeps his team in the game”
Chris you have no idea how right you are
Game of the tournament and one of the most memorable games in UVA HISTORY!!
Truly was a classic. Rivals Duke/Kentucky 1992.
Carsen Edwards coming out party game
huh? dude, Edwards missed a shot late and threw a bad pass late in the game. two bad plays right there
He played great against Tennessee.
Yeah but he put up like 40 points
Everybody so special but Diakite showed up to save UVA. He was tremendous in the tournament.
You mean Hunter?
@@stonejackballer482 I did mean Diakite. Hunter was tremendous in the final but if you look at the whole journey to the championship game, Diakite upgraded his game tremendously. His playing time was increased during the tournament and his shot blocking ability was a weapon.
Kihei smiles so much I like that
Best Tournament Game EVER!!! and I really mean all time
Virginia always found a way to win
One of the clutchest mf teams of all time fr fr
this was and will be a great game
Am I the only one that thinks this deserves an episode of rewinder
I was rooting for purdue, but maybe it was a good thing that they lost cuz carsen edwards might have not come to us in second round. 🤔🤷♂️☘
He's too short to do much in the NBA - sorry. I said this before he was drafted and it remains true as he is doing nothing. He should be in the G League like Kyle Guy also too short)
He got traded to Memphis and then got released. Dude is not tall enough. Can't separate nearly as well as Steph. No role for him anywhere.
Yasssssss go hoos. Edwards a beast tho 👀
The real "beasts" for UVA were the guys in striped shirts.
@@offthebeatenpath3447 keep the salt to yourself buddy nobody wants it but you
@@offthebeatenpath3447 nah
Like if you’re putting UVA games in a playlist after the 2020 tournament is cancelled. And still....
Noob Master do you happen to know where i can watch the other games from 2019
They should all be on this channel
Noob Master Sadly they aren’t
Guilty....
Please let me know if anyone finds the other games from the 2018-2019 season!
Is the sound not synced for anyone else?
It's not synced for me either
I'm glad that little Filipino bloke the PG is the first one to win a ncaa tournament. Good player for a small bloke
Who?
@@jovidutful that little bloke. The starting point guard. Half Filo half white fella.
My goodness Carson Edwards 🔥🔥
Best March madness game right here🙏🏽🙏🏽
Va had no answer for C. Edwards. Ty and Kyle are a dynamic duo. Great game
Bit weird to say they had "no answer" when they won the game. They certainly had a hard time stopping him from scoring, though.
That guys reaction at 1:29:29 😂😂
Greatest March madness game of all time
2:03:29 of my life are about to be gone
The GREATEST college basketball game ever in my opinion 💯🤷🏾♂️
Such a good (and painful) game
Ah thank you!
Love this team Kyle Guy, Hunter and Ty Jerome
Strange, just re-watched the conclusion of this game only to learn that Ty Jerome's post game interview is dubbed over the visible Kyle Guy interview just after the final whistle. Anyone else notice this?
I was there
1:28:48 "Virginia has dominated the offensive glass, but when they needed a defensive rebound, it was Grady Eifert who secured it." Uh, hold your horses there...
14:45 that 3 that was taken away due to the shot clock violation proved to be huge.
28:59 should have been reviewed difference in the game going to OT! Ref standing right there getting over turned by a ref 75ft away???
Longtime KU fan.
Since 1988.
My top3 coaches I would want if God forbid, anything happened with Bill Self.///
1. Jay Wright
2. Tony Bennett
3. Jacque Vaughn
Purdue-Tennessee next please
Carson “legend” edwards… Kyle my guy… send it in Jerome!!! Diakite!!! Etc. this game was everything!!!
I actually went to the Purdue game where they beat Tennessee in OT in the round before this in 2019
I'm just curious what a "troney" (?) Is?
55:45 WHAT A SCREEN BY JACK
Clark's assists are not recognized for some reason. His no look was killing Purdue early on.
The elite 8 that year was the best of all time
go uva
The day after this game my Purdue English professor went on a 10 minute rant before class about those final seconds in regulation.
I still cringe.
Lol! Sounds like a dedicated fan.
One of the greatest sequences @1:29:00
I think Matt haarms hair looks like the new super fly movie he could be the white priest
Diakite!
Tracy Turner he was balling!!!
despite the horrible play-by-play announcer making a mistake with his call, Diakite was clutch. that is a difficult shot to make over a very tall defender. like Rafferty says, "onions"!!!
GO UVA!
how is the tip at the end our past half court not a backcourt?
Neither team had possession of the basketball so they tap is legal. A tap is not considered possession of the basketball.
Looking back at this, the south region of 2019 ncaa tournament will be forever known as the region of choke; and this game will be forever known as the choke bowl.
chris webber lol
Purdue wins this game if the coach doesn't make the decision to take the ball out of Edwards' hands to get some other players involved in OT. I'd have let Edwards shoot while laying on his back at half court and anyone else on that floor that shot the ball from beyond 3 feet would be immediately benched.
Edwards a straight baller
crazy how they doubled cline the entire game
5:56 (Good ball movement, in paint passing.)
Game starts at 1:03:10.
I still can't believe Edwards didn't pull that as soon as he realized he had gotten by his man.
That back tap was a backcourt violation
how so? there is no possession established until the ball is tracked down in the backcourt... a basketball rule known by most anyone that actually pays attention to how the game is played.
One of the best basketball games ever and way better than anything to come out of the NBA.
Carson is different dawg..
AY I LIVE THERE
Purdue fouling was the right play, but man, this still hurts
Can Virginia get any luckier
Or more talented? Or more motivated? They sure had a lot going for them that year!
yep...they were lucky to have 4 starters on that team that ended up in the NBA
I think this was the game the refs cheated Purdue
Purdue got extremely unlucky
It was our time.
RMT Studios that diakite shot was the luckiest shot I’ve ever seen you can’t say I’m wrong
@@kingconnor5414 it was destiny.
Not against Tennessee. #NoFoul
@@kingconnor5414 Bad sportsmanship to dismiss your opponent's wins as luck.
Start at 5:52 btw
1:27:04 the game is won at this point. literally in any other game, its over here.
Hooooossss
Who would down vote this game? It was epic!
the obvious Purdue fans lol
Purdue, Virginia Tech and Auburn fan.
those Purdue fans who celebrated before the game was actually over, LOL
Man uva had luck on there side that tourney
Bolier Up bay bay!! still stings.. why am i putting myself through this again by watching? Cant help it.. smh..
Your doing it bc cedwards is gonna be a star for Boston, so glad he slipped lol ☘☘

Purdue has never recovered from this loss
Like ain’t no way this dude Edwards shouldn’t be getting time for a team In the league with the he consistently hit three after three for multiple games.Like this dude college run was crazy.
5:45 tip-off
Man Virginia had a few games where they could of easily lost
Ryan Kline...
1:29:07 sound before light
Pur choked!
Plain & Simple.
Had a 70-67 lead 18secs left gm & ball. Elite8? U GOTTA come away with W in that situation.
If he wouldve made that attmept at 1:02:15!!!!!!!!
game was lost on the matt painter on-purpose foul with 5.9 seconds, why not bleed the clock more, or force a tough shot from 3, they had no choice but to hit a very improbable game-tying shot. bad coaching 101
42:06 1:29:45 1:10 1:06:01
One of the biggest phantom foul call I've ever seen at 58:24
hard to see i agree but smacked his arm
They should not have fouled at the end
I agree gotta make them make a tough 3 but that guy missed the free throw to put them up 4 right before that
40:46
Carson Edwards world b free
No disrespect, but this was definitely THE LUCKIEST run I’ve seen by a championship winning team. Their skill didn’t compare to some of the other teams that were in this year’s tournament. But I can’t deny that luck makes up a huge part to LIFE, not just sports. 🤷♂️😴
I'll take a lucky win over a skillful loss
this was such a terrible call by webber and whoever homeboy is. jesus.
Pur fans celebrated too early
