Bob Iger is just trying to save his own ass. He doesn't want to admit The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy's leadership was a misstake.
He has to face the board and stockholders.
In a way he has chosen to continue the lies Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson has been telling media since The Last Jedi, that the criticism comes from racists and women haters. Kathleen Kennedy has also come up with some really bad excuses why the SOLO movie bombed cause it was released in the wrong season, to close to The Last Jedi and at the same time as other big films. These are just orchestrated so called damage limitations.
We all know that all the STAR WARS communities was filled with "campaigns" from passionate fans urging everyone to boycott the next STAR WARS film to show Disney our disappointed with The Last Jedi.
Now I urge all STAR WARS fans to keep on affecting Disney. We are the reason why SOLO bombed.
Our boycott was very successful, but Disney chose to ignore and try to give all other reasons to media and the big crowd why SOLO didn't sell.
We need to convince Disney that it's not about quantity it's all about the quality. We want more big screen STAR WARS films.
Furthermore, we shouldn't rant about everything. The Force Awakens was for sure not creative and pretty much a copy of A New Hope, but we must remember that the average viewer doesn't have all the STAR WARS films in fresh memory. When The Force Awakens was released it had gone such a long time since the prequels.
The Force Awakens had to attract new generations, younger viewers that had grown up with the prequels and please the old fans. At the same time JJ had to introduce the new characters side by side with Han, Leia and Chewie which can't have been an easy task.
To be the first episode of a trilogy The Force Awakens was actually really good. JJ's cliffhangers are maybe the best we've seen in filmmaking history.
The Force Awakens could've been a good start of the trilogy if it wasn't for the big failure of The Last Jedi.
It's actually The Last Jedi and Rian Johnson's failure to continue with the second film that has made the first episode look worse.
To retroactively make an earlier episode of a trilogy look worse is quite an accomplishment : )
Only Rian Johnson can have that impact of a trilogy!
The Last Jedi was a disaster.
The SOLO movie was pretty good. It didn't really feel like a STAR WARS film, but was interesting and very entertaining. And who doesn't want to know more about Qi'ra's connection to Darth Maul?
Rouge One is considered one of the better STAR WARS film ever.
So to be trustworthy we can't just bash everything. We have to keep convincing Disney and the world it's all about The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy's leadership.
Speaking for many of us, we want more big screen STAR WARS films.
The pace with a film every two years is not to much. And a spin-off stand alone now and then is not a problem if done in a good way.
Every film doesn't need to be a masterpiece. The world are let to believe that Star Wars fans are picky and impossible to please by people like Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy. It's just their way of defending them self for their own failure. They can't handle constructive criticism.
It's not hard to understand that you can't mistreat the biggest hero in modern filmmaking history the way Rian Johnson did.
    Why the humiliation of Luke?
Why the need to insult the biggest hero of the franchise?
What was necessary to bring the story forward?
If you treat a beloved character like Luke Skywalker the way Rian Johnson did, then it's not surprising that we have got the biggest backlash ever witnessed in filmmaking history.
Bob Iger should make a statement that The Last Jedi was a disaster and that Rian Johnson is not going to be involved in STAR WARS ever.
Bob Iger should've done this a long time ago.
If Bob Iger does that, then he will see the backlash decrease and Disney can reset and start fresh.
    That's how you take responsibility.
And I'm convinced that the board and stockholders would rather have an honest confession from their CEO than a coward copying all the lies and bad excuses we have seen from Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson even attacking their own fanbase.
Which company, big or small, would attack and accuse their own customers?
    Bob Iger do right!!!
