The adidas sl is a pretty good daily trainer in my opinion
I love mine now they have finally broken in. I hear the updated version coming next year is a lot better too which is quite exciting
Can I ask is the Adidas Supernova Rise suitable to put a orthotic in them and do you have to size up?
Really enjoying your content! Recently got these and I like them so far but considering the Boston 12 also. Running easy miles at approx 6min/km after injury, do you think this is too slow for Boston 12 as a daily?
Nah the Boston works on all paces really well tbh and thanks for the kind words
@@FordyRuns appreciate the reply and sounds good! As an adidas fan I love the Adios 8 and wanted a decent daily. Can pick up the Boston through start fitness for cheaper than supernova rise so may have to do a switch! Cheers 👍🏼
Ive ordered these and the ride 17 need to decide on one. What would be your pick? 👍
I haven't tried the new Ride 17 yet but Triumph 20/21 has better bounce and energy return than these. Ride 17 is now getting the same midsole foam (PWRRUN+) of Triumph so I expect the ride will be similar. Meanwhile Triumph 22 will be upgraded to PWRRUN PB. I would wait for Triumph 22.
Hi Fordy, I am looking for replacement for Glideride 3 for easy to steady runs. Would that be a good alternative as getting Glideride 3 is almost impossible now?
How does compare to the Mach 5 (not 4)? Or Clifton? Interested in the Supernova Prima because I think it’s got more stack and lower drop. I got from this review that’s it surprisingly good because it’s an adidas daily trainer, but not really awesome, comparatively speaking.
With that much weight I disagree that it is comparable to Mach 5 or PEBA based Mach X. I ran in these (demo shoe) and I would pick Mach X over this. I expected more energy return for being PEBA based foam and I didn't get it. Get PUMA Deviate Nitro 2 instead. It is a better value.
If you had to buy only 1 shoe would it be the Super Nova rise or the Boston 12 as a daily trainer
just bought Puma Forever Run Nitro with FordyRuns discount at Start Fitness for £80! I looked at the SuperNova because I am an Adidas fan - ran Comrades 1991 in a Adidas Torsion low stack minimalist shoe 9 hours and a bit - hold a Strava Segment Record Age 62 since 2020 - 5000 attempts 369 people with an Adidas Boston boost. So I love ADIDAS but the SuperNova £130 versus £80 Puma Forever?
Room for doubt.
Good Review Thanks
@@FordyRuns just a thought . I got an amazing deal from Start Fitness with the Puma and BTW i got a similar deal for the Adios 8! Fordy discount on fantastic Strat Fitness Discount!
Why dont you do a shoot that evaluates in Dec the best value you can get from Start Fitness discount with a Fordy discount! I was so impressed that Start Fitness - honoured the Fordy discount on an already impressive Start discount.
In contrast - I am at the top level pf Adidas Points Levl 4 but they dont let me cash them points in! -you can only buy shit with their points and the system is impossible to understand, I phoned up Customer Service to find out how i can use these points. After 30 minutes - she asked for time to work it out - the phone times out; cuts me off; no call back - i gave up!
Chris, I generally agree with your views but I am feeling that this shoe is being hyped by shoetubers overall but my personal experience has been different. Given the weight of the shoe and thick and plush upper I am having hard time your comparison with Mach 5. I ran in a pair of Adidas Supernova Rise at a Adidas event during TRE-2023. It was a short few miles but I am personally disappointed with performance. The Dreamstrike+ foam in these shoes is dull compared to other PEBA based foam shoes such as Endorphin Speed series, Mach X and PUMA Deviate Nitro 2. I am not sure Dreamstrike is pure PEBA or a blend of PEBA with something else (EVA?). The EVA rods is also nerfing the shoe.
I went to the event all excited with my 2017 Adidas Supernova "Boost" (before the Supernova brand was sidelined) which I ran my first marathon and even those old shoes felt more bouncy and lighter on the feet. Perhaps you can understand my disappointment. That said, the shoe does look cool and I might still get them when they are 30-40% discounted for causal or gym use.
I am still hoping that Adidas come up with a full Lightstrike PRO based performance daily trainer. Start with Takumi Sen 8/9/10 midsole. Remove the rods. Add decent but not excessively thick upper and heel counter, put an soutsole like Adios 8. That's it! Meanwhile unless you are a diehard Adidas fan, there are better options from other manufacturers.
I’m more pleased that they are moving in the right direction that’s the stand out for me
Do you think it can match the Puma deviate Nitro 2? It takes some beating!
I ran in both and unfortunately Supernova Rise didn't deliver the same performance as Puma Deviate Nitro 2.
Finally a midsole from Adidas made of PEBA foam!!!
I am not sure if it is pure PEBA or a blend. During my short run in these (demo shoes) I didn't get the typical PEBA foam bounce or energy return. I am personally a bit disappointed. Upper is too plush and heavy. I think those EVA rods are dulling the performance. I would pick PUMA Deviate Nitro 2 or Endorphin Speed over these. Oncoming Triumph 22 will be PWRRUN PB (PEBA) foam and will probably deliver better performance than these, Even current Triumph 21 is better energy return. This is even more dull ride than Hoka Mach X.
@@TolunayOrkunTalking about Adidas, I guess the fact they started to use PEBA, it's already an achievement. 😂
@@gpersonaltrainer Again I am not 100% sure Dreamstrike+ is a PEBA foam or PEBA blend. It doesn't have the feel of a typical PEBA foam. The PEBA is a claim made by shoetubers, not sure if it is confirmed by Adidas officially anywhere.
Im in the market for a new daily. Just can't decide between this and the Novablast 4! Thanks for the review Fordy.
Hmmm both very good depends on if you prefer a more stacked shoe
