Grounding is a valid technique and something in our digital age that a lot of people are short on @@nat7891I personally appreciate vitamin and supplement advice, tips my Dr or care team use or are science based (like grounding), physical therapy or an exercise plan, ETC. not everyone wants a medication, or test result and hard diagnosis, nor is that what every patient needs- but I think your really probably a difficult patient to work with bc what you may consider "practicing medicine" might be a really narrow group of actions (prescribing meds, tests, etc)

That's so true I had pcos I went for gyno constantly cuz my periods were so bad and less and not even getting my periods until 6 months when I was 16-17. I had done sonography but nothing was found but later when I went into my adulthood I was suddenly diagnosed with pcos and then I took medical help to conceive now I'm pregnant with my first ❤
That’s what they do cause they will never tell you they don’t know what’s wrong, it’s better for their self esteem and ego to tell you nothing is wrong

Hearing her share her experience with endometriosis and thinking to myself “oh my god, is that what’s wrong with me?” They just described every symptom I’ve experienced (even the “my mom and all my aunts have heavy periods”) and I’m feeling so heard…
Go get diagnosed! Don’t allow them to just do ultrasounds and dismiss you when they don’t see it. You NEED to get the laparoscopic procedure (exploratory surgery) to actually see it in most cases. Don’t allow anyone to tell you no. I was told no from my first doctor and she just wanted to stick me on birth control and pretend that would solve it. I found a new doctor and told them that I will NOT bother trying birth control or anything until I got that procedure done, he agreed and I have now had 2 of them (which the second one helped more than the first, so don’t be deterred if the first time doesn’t seem to do too much) and I’ve never felt better! Will actually be scheduling a 3rd soon more than likely. Which do not worry that you’ll always have to have them cause it’s not the case for everyone, it could be a one and done or multiple. I’m good every 2-3 years but I also get it on my bladder, so it does change the frequency for me. But please, go and advocate for yourself and have it looked at! Best decision of my life and I’ve even been blessed to have a baby through it all. ❤

Nobody in my family had it aside from aunts who aren't blood related. My grandmother & aunt both had tumors or fibroids which can be related to endo, but I'm the first of my blood line with endo. It's wild, but, you go many many years being brushed off with "that's a normal period" 😢 When it's really not

I had both an external and internal ultrasound done and they were like “nope can’t see it, you don’t have it.” Like 90% of the time you CANNOT see it that way, only times you can is if it is so bad and thick that it overpowers everything. You need to get the exploratory procedure done. It’s very simple: a cut in the belly button, a cut above the pubic area (generally at the c-section area, and if they need to get a look around or there is more in other areas they will make 1 more (or more if it’s severe) by your hip area. They are no bigger than an inch and recovery was fine both times. Only issue I had was not even with the cuts, I had air trapped in my chest the first time which hurt.
yeah, I totally relate to the "playing doctor" because as a person with chronic illnesses who's constantly dismissed by doctors, I ended up turning to the internet to try to find out what my symptoms were matching to, and learned about alot of other conditions on the way ❤

Same for the longest time that was my fav performance of hers because tween me loved the raw emotion in her voice and there was just something so different about it, I remember reading her interview where she shared what happened that night and I don’t think I’ve seen that performance since tbh. As someone who is also chronically ill, Halsey is such an inspiration. Being completely honest and still being so strong really makes a big difference. I love Halsey for always being true to herself and opening up about this!
This was such a gift to me hearing someone else talk about all of this by… I have SLE, EDS, POTS, MCAS, Sjogrens, stage 4 Endometriosis, IBS. I feel like NO ONE understands what my existence is truly like. My IUD that I got because of undiagnosed endo, perforated. I was gaslit about that for weeks seeking treatment. I was sent home from the er over and over while I had a ruptured aneurysm. I worked EMS through a miscarriage, came home sat in the bathtub overnight because there was just too much blood, worked the next day… Side note: My experience of pregnancy was different after my second trimester- felt great the first part- end of the second trimester I went into Lupus Nephritis but wasn’t diagnosed yet. It was terrible and scary. I was diagnosed with Lupus a full 8 years later. I love my doctors I have found now, but that said, I have so much contempt for all of the ones that gaslit me for years.

I was diagnosed with lupus at 15. Got pregnant when I was 25 and my lupus went into remission. I felt amazing. It lasted till my son was around 7. Then it hit again, with a vengeance. It was insane how sick I got. And the pain was unbearable
Halsey's If I can't have love, I want power album helped me to cope with my emotions, my extremely hard breakup and tuberculosis treatment. And seeing them talking openly about their health issues made me respect Ash even more than I already did. We need more people to talk about their medical journeys, and bring this subject and speak out bc medical trauma and gaslighting is no joke. Esp for women, poc and queer people. Lots of love and hugs to you, Ash. You're a real fighter.

Chronic illness is so difficult to deal with, and it breaks my heart Ashley has gone through this. I appreciate them bringing awareness to these issues. It can be helpful to see other people surviving chronic illness and feeling better.

A page like this give me faith towards women’s health education! It’s been hell trying to figure out all of my chronic issues and so many doctors just write it off as “Oh, you’re young. It’s gotta be this super common thing.” And when you try to stand up for yourself to tell them: “This isn’t normal.”they don’t believe you.
I hope to find a decent doctor one day so I don’t have to figure it all out on my own.

I really feel like the Halsey's music coincides with whatever my life dealt me at the time. This year I've had two breast biopsies which were negative, however breast cancer runs in my family. My aunt was diagnosed last year even though she tested negative for the BRCA gene. So this weekend I'm getting an MRI and later this year I'm getting a lumpectomy. When "The End" came out I couldn't stop crying because I felt so seen.
Same. I got my official endometriosis diagnosis in October 2023. And then recently in April 2024 I had tests for ovarian cancer (tested negative but got asked to start planning a family soon because my endo got bad) & she came out with ‘The End’ right after. It feels like she’s my soul singer.
Same experience with my IUD. Was treated like I was new to periods and not used to cramps. Come to find out it was turning sideways and perforating my uterus. That gyno still wont acknowledge that it actually perforated. So glad I changed doctors. They need to do better.
as someone with dysautonomia conditions, including endo, sjogrens, and eds, having halsey speak about and raise awareness for these conditions is incredible and so appreciated!!! the medical gaslighting and neglect we all experience is truly traumatic and worsens our health. i have ptsd bc my doctors never helped me, and i was a kid too. nobody’s safe lol

I have Lyme disease, brain damage, seizures, Tourette syndrome, and a lack of an immune system. I’ve been sick since the day I was born, and I’ve been looking for a doctor like Dr. A for so long. I’m so so glad my idol found her and is getting better! So happy for you Ash! don’t ever stop advocating for yourself and I won’t either.

I wish I had this doctor. I have been unwell for quite some time. I also have a toddler to look after which i am unable to do. That is the most heartbreaking thing for me. I want to be healthy so i can play with my son. I have been looking for answers but the doctors i have been seeing are not that educated. You are really lucky if you have the wealth to see these doctors.

I've had panic attacks, numbness on left side of the face, tingling left eye, pulpitating left temple nerve and just generally unwell... I'm not working and a single parent😢... You are not ALONE.

Why would you need wealth to treat autoimmune or other probs? All Dr's should warn ppl to remove dairy. I'm in remission from IBD. I've known about dangers of dairy since I was 16! I blame it for causing many problems in western society. Healing can start in the kitchen. Can you tolerate organic legumes? Look at the cookbook Meals that Heal by Carolyn Williams. I'm Middle class and very much mad how expensive it is to find healthy alternatives. PS We all evolved on meat. Don't fall for Hollyweird plant based crap

I have just NOW AT MY ALMOST 29 YO been possibly diagnosed with ENDOMETRIOSIS cause none of the other gynecology related conditions matches with all my symptoms....
Hearing Ash talking about her IUD make me realize how much pain I went through at my 25s when I had one placed for 15 days and gave me one of the worsts pains of my life... Now I see it.

Love hearing Halsey's story! I have chronic illnesses/pain and can relate to so much of this. However, is anyone else annoyed by the interviewer cutting her off by asking a follow-up question? Like, just let her talk - she'll probably answer the question you're wanting to ask, anyway.
I have sjogrens, lupus, Adenomyosis, IBS and Hashimoto’s. Getting diagnosed was a nightmare for everyone.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis 2 years ago, like 2 months before my 30th birthday and the part were the doctor said it can be a 10 years late diagnosis hit me. I've been spending all my fertile life with issues and terrible pain, even before getting my period for the first time, so I do get it.

Ash is easily, hands down the kindest and most personable human I’ve met (aside from my own mom and aunt). I met Halsey at a cd signing for the Room 93 ep and I think first show in Houston. This was right after I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out lmao I got the procedure done and picked up my Vicodin so I could stand in line for the meetup. Ash noticed the ice packs on my face and made me feel so special and comfortable. So much more to say just about that moment but God bless this person. I’ve got soooo much love and respect.
I'm so greatful for this interview. I am not only a huge Halsey fan, but I have spent the last 6 years going through an organ transplant, battling ulcerative Colitis flare ups and now I'm currently being diagnosed with endometriosis at age 35. I have followed Halsey's advocacy for endometriosis and women's health and women's rights, and most of all I am truly touched by her recent songs The End of the World, and Lucky... there just aren't many songs that truly express wjat it's like to be sick. Chronic illness is so hard and I just really appreciate hearing about the experiences of someone I already respect. I truly hope she continues to get the help she needs and wish her all the health and love in the world.

Colitis can start with a virus. I began to cure chronic SIBO finally after 3 years with Oil oregano. Now I use soil based PRO Biotics. I know someone always sick can't absorb their food with terrible medications from Colitis. They don't eat normally, then got worse coughs.. it is always negative gram bacteria. Research it.
I've been grilled by my doctor too about my low weight and whether it's because of an eating disorder. I even started to wonder if I really did and was just in denial. I'm also an East Asian woman and there's the stereotype about us being small. turns out, I had a congenital heart condition and needed surgery. I'm so glad to hear others talk about their health problems as well. we all have some kind of health problems at some point in life and I think it would be helpful to actually talk about it more.
God I love Halsey so much. Even them talking about how she offered the IVF to someone else instead of taking it. The fans know who she is. We've seen what she's done over the years and how selfless she can be. I wish her nothing but the best, even if there comes a day where we, as fans, cannot be a part of her life anymore. I want her to live fully and happily because god damn does she deserve it.

I wish POTS was discussed but at the end of the day it def is like a pendulum. I became disabled with it at 14 and worry about my existence every day. I’m grateful she’s talking about health issues that are very much ignored

As a guy, I found his fascinating. First we almost don't understand the true magnitude of the illnesses women deal with and how they actually affect their day to day life. Also as someone that's been dealing with health issues for the last couple years with doctors telling me it's all in my head, it is nice to see doctors that listen and show up for their patients and find solutions.

Halsey is so amazing!!! I was diagnosed with lupus when my daughter was 9. I have so much guilt to this day. She became my caretaker at that age because I didn't have proper support. No joke, I slept 20-22 hrs a day. Lupus is absolutely horrible.

Love Halsey for her music but love her more for being relatable and speaking up about her experiences. Having autoimmune disease is hard! As a person with Sjrogrens, RA and fibromyalgia, plus several family members with Lupus I feel so seen!! Nothing means more to someone battling their body daily than someone who understands the struggle!
I've been diagnosed with hashimoto's for 4 years, and what Halsey said made me realize my face skin issues are because of hashimoto's. I know my dry and sensistive skin all over my body was from that, but i didn't know my "rosacea" and "acne" flareups were hashimoto's flares.
The only two doctors to take my issues seriously were gynecologists. Other doctors had all said my labs were in range and we'd monitor, but the one gyno said even if it's in the range, it's not where a 20 year old should be. She also pointed out that many of the issues i had then (acne and rosacea, endometriosis, allergies, ibs, etc) were all inflamatory conditions and that something had to be causing the inflammation. A gynecologist obviously diagnosed my endometriosis and the same one years later found my pituitary brain tumors. My male endocrinologist had dismissed my concerns about breast discharge, but she took me seriously.
Struggling now with getting doctors to take my joint pain seriously, but still coming up against the "your labs are in range"
i absolutely love ashley. i am terrified that it's too late for me to be a mother. i have had issues with my periods since i was 16 and started getting them. i've lost them for a year here, lost them for a year there and not due to anything other than stress from being in an abusive marriage and the c()vid shots. it breaks my heart that people who yearn to be a great mother can't afford the treatments. how wonderful of her to pass along that gift. i hope she continues to get healthy and have as many kids as she desires. i hope someday i can be a great mom too. i'm glad she's talking so openly and honestly. i am interested in the ketamine therapy. i suffer with severe depression and the rock bottoms are some of the worst ....i've been too scared to find out if this could be beneficial for me though. thanks for the open discussion. truly appreciate it.

@SmokeEhouseofmusic the only reason I'm still here after attempting to end my own life is I promised a friend I'd never attempt again. And after losing my brother to addiction and him ending his own life on Sept of 2023, I know that I can't put my family through that again but damn. It gets dark and hard sometimes. And there's not even a why, really. Mental health issues suck. Hugs your way . We got this. 💜✨️

To everyone involved in making this, I sincerely can’t thank you enough. Especially to Halsey for sharing such a difficult experience publicly. I was diagnosed with lupus in April and started treatment in May. I’ve been fighting through a really rough bout of fatigue this past month, and other un-fun symptoms the past few days. Anywho, I was feeling down on myself and this just really helped to watch for some reason. I’m so appreciative of the work Halsey’s doing for lupus awareness and research 💜
Ash’s story means so much to me as someone who has been misdiagnosed for 10 years. Less than a week ago I was diagnosed with chiari malformation, my cerebellum has grown into my spinal column. I have had headaches for 10 years, was told by a pediatric neurologist at 11 that it was psychological, (this doctor also put me on over 10 medications within a few month period. Never giving them enough time to work. Even amatriptaline (powerful antipsychotic) that gave me bloody nightmares) I’ve been misdiagnosed multiple times. Since it’s been a decade I was so hard on myself why I couldn’t do so many things without getting a headache and my body feeling weak. I thought “wow am I really this sensitive as a person? Am I that out of shape” it’s so reassuring to know that I really do have something wrong with me because I knew something was wrong. My headaches have almost always been brushed off as stress related, and I’m sure that plays a part, but I’m glad finally a doctor decided to look at my cervical spine along with my brain which showed chiari on the mri. Hopefully I can finally get some relief.

Halsey has been an inspiration of mine from the beginning of her musical career. I relate to her in so many ways. Not only just being a an artist with a dream, but someone who has endometriosis, high-tone pelvic floor disorder, amongst so many other issues. I remember her first opening up about her endo. Just got an ultrasound to see if I have endometriosis. Bc I’ve been dealing with these symptoms for almost a decade. ALWAYS ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. Thank you all for talking about this and all the work you three do. Definitely do not feel alone and will take it day by day once I hear the results. Shoutout to the nurse practitioner who ordered me that ultrasound and listened to me. My gyno that I used to go to DID NOT.

I love how Halsey is so open about her journey. It's a blessing to have women with a platform speak about their experiences in the hope that it can help others. I had severe endometriosis and lived with excruciating pain for years. I was dismissed and treated poorly by doctors. I dealt with unsupportive teachers and managers while I was dealing with this chronic issue for about 15 years. I was told by many doctors that I should take birth control or get an IUD and that I probably had PCOS. When I finally decided I couldn't handle the pain anymore, I had a laparoscopy. My left ovary and fallopian tube had to be removed because they were glued together. I had been to several doctors and gone to the ER twice and knew something wasn't right. Always listen to yourself, trust your gut, always fight for yourself, and get answers!

Being in the process of being diagnosed with a chronic illness has been the hardest experience of my life. The isolation and feeling of loneliness is devastating. I'm so glad I live in a time where Halsey exists. No popstar talks about these horrors of being sick and having to fight doctors to be taken seriously. I hear her saying she needed to become a celebrity to afford decent healthcare in America. THAT PART. I had stage 4 endometriosis and had to pay out of pocket for a qualified specialist to perform excision surgery. I have health insurance and they paid exactly $0 towards it. A sin.
This is what I wonder. The nerve of companies to advertise a smoothie via a celebrity like those Erowan drinks? The same ingredients to make a green juice in Canada is about 10 bucks for 2 servings...too much hype over buying food as medicine. You would be better off as a medical tourist here in Canada or Turkey.

I’ve had adenomyosis and had a hysterectomy and was also diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. I’ve had 5 excision surgeries by world renowned endometriosis specialists and it’s come back again….and now I’m currently dealing with severe endometriosis pain and am currently being tested for RA and Lupus. It’s so debilitating and hearing her explain the extreme fatigue and hair loss that comes with the symptoms of lupus really resonated with me. I just got my blood test results that are all pointing to lupus and RA. Everything she said about what she’s experiencing is exactly what I’m currently going through. I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel for me as well.
I'm glad you are going thru all the testing. Our stories are so much alike, I had a full hysterectomy at 38 with the same issues. I also have lupus, RA, and fibromyagia with complications from each. The sooner you get in with good specialist the sooner you can feel relief. Prayers and good energy your way

They didn't go into what Halsey said at the end about Ketamine therapy, but if you struggle with medication-resistant depression or addiction, PLEASE research it and find a clinic in your area to get on the waiting list (it's a multi-month therapy and clinics don't have alot of spots).

Halsey, thank you for your story. I’m going through the same thing right now. I have been receiving medical testing for possible lupus. Going from doctor to doctor and the increasing medical bills is getting exhausting, but I have hope that I will eventually find out what is going on in my body. I am happy for you that you were able to get to the bottom of your illnesses with these amazing doctors!
This sounds like my medical history with endo & lupus. I never felt better in my life than when I was pregnant. I got pregnant just a few short months after having surgery for my endo. I wasn't even actively "trying." All of this has taken years to figure out and I still am not listened to. It's so frustrating. Especially with state medical benefits...

Thank you Halsey! I’m from Australia and I’ve been a fan for yearssss, I appreciate you talking more on these subjects, I have endo, and possible other illnesses, but doctors won’t listen most of the times, but I feel as though it would be a bit easier to get through to our drs if we have this information, A big thing that got me is how good you felt while pregnant, and I was the exact same, I fell pregnant 2 months after surgery, and I was taking contraception, at the start I was in pain but after the 12 month mark and afterwards I felt amazing, literally never better, I could eat everything and no issues, it’s made me think twice about sweeping these problems under the rug, having a young child can make this harder as we want to put them first, but we forget that due to our babies we need to get better first. Thanks Queen you don’t realise how much we appreciate this 💝
i am so grateful to halsey and their transparency on their health and wellbeing journey. I've been a fan since room 93 days (even met her at a music festival years ago, coolest sweetest celeb I've encountered hands down) and when they talked about their endometriosis I looked it up and realized I fit the description to a T. So here we are 5 years and two surgeries later with a third one on the books for later this year, which would make three surgeries under 30 yrs old for me. I just hope now that endo is a more known and recognized condition young women can go to doctors and be taken seriously and not just told they'll grow out of it or just put on pain treatments without investigating or addressing the cause. I hope research can find new ways to diagnose endo without surgery because right now thats the only 100% for sure way to know. It is weirdly gratifying though to put a name to and see other people with the same thing that felt and was treated like it was all in my head for most of my life. My best wishes to Halsey and all the endo girls out there
I love Halsey so much, and I’d give anything to find Doctors like her team! My diagnosis list is so long & they don’t even try to help me anymore. It’s hard being 50, feeling 90. 😭

Please don’t say that. Neurodivergent people are often the most easily manipulated and gaslit. It’s like a main diagnostic criteria of SEVERAL neurodivergencies.
It’s why it’s almost impossible to explain to someone neurodivergent that they’re being abused.

@@nataliaalfonso2662 That statement is not only incorrect but also harmful and perpetuates stereotypes. Being neurodivergent doesn't inherently mean someone is easily manipulated or unaware of abuse. It just means that our brain functions differently than what is typically expected. While some neurodivergent people experience challenges in social situations, assuming we are universally more susceptible to manipulation is an oversimplification and an unfair stereotype. Some of the most strong-willed and self-confident people I know are neurodivergent.
@@nataliaalfonso2662 You are right actually. I was naturally very easy to manipulate most of my life. Then I got caught into a Cult called the Church of Scientology and was slave labour trafficked. As a result I spent hours everyday for years studying manipulation and started to see through everything. But it was not something I had inherently. Scientology is a very sophisticated brainwashing system and once you recover if feels like you have been vaccinated with a high grade vaccine. I was subjected to brainwashing trans induction techniques that changed my internal language and perspective. Cult experts say it's the most extensive in its brainwashing techniques and is the most mentally damaging. Its takening me years and I am yet to fully recover so I have had to spend years trying take apart the tactics that were used on me and have spent hundreds of hours trying to decode manipulation. It's sad that I have had to waste so much time studying it but all the knowledge gathered does eventually get you to a point where you have some sort of mastery over it. Hope that helps.
Halsey is such a beautiful soul and she's gone through so much s***... I have struggled with my health a lot too (6 surgeries, PCOS, ovarian removal, early menopause) so I can really relate to what she's gone through. Halsey really shows that being a musician and a pop star is just one facet of her life and she's a human with flaws and all. Many of us suffer the same illnesses without the fame, and it's not easier or harder. It just sucks and it can happen to anyone. And I admire her for being open about it, pop stars are not perfect, they are people, and they try to live their dreams and have their career just like us.
