There are tons of Steely Dan covers. Most try to replicate the original as faithfully as possible, but I really appreciate artists who put their own distinctive flavor and interpretation on it, like you did so well here. My compliments.

I'm one of the countless people who play in a Steely Dan tribute band, where we try to reproduce the originals as faithfully as possible. That didn't stop me enjoying this terrific rendition of a classic. Fantastic guys! Thanks for sharing.

What an inspired song choice. I played my "Countdown To Ecstasy" album to death in 1973, and then my wife and I got hear Steely Dan play this live at the U. of Toledo in April 1974 -- with future blue-eyed soul legend Michael McDonald on lead vocal. This one's going straight to Favorites.

@@petefogel2133 To this day we call it the concert of our lives, because they played all the best songs from their first 3 albums and then didn't tour again until Aug. of 1993 -- and never again with that original lineup. I always felt that they owed me a concert album from that tour, if they weren't going to play live again.
@andyinoregon tell me about it... I was so pissed off that I missed them in the seventies that I've seen them hundreds of times since they started again in 1993. No shit. Good for you...
@@petefogel2133 We were lucky to see them as headliners on Sunday April 21, 1974 in Toledo, because two nights earlier they had to open for The Beach Boys in Columbus, and my cousin who was there said much of that crowd showed little interest in Steely Dan.
