If you compare 2 balls and throw them both the same way to compare reactions, maybe it would help to show themboth at the same time as overlay. This would directly show the difference.
220 did this in his 1968 vs 1991 video and I loved it.

On "view stats" at the PBA Players Championship you left a lot of leaves with the 2 pin. Why? Angle into pocket? Ball drilling? Ball backing up before hitting the head pin? ETC.

What I'm seeing so far (from all the reviews I've watched) is a symmetric ball with midlane like the exotic. Basically it's a bit cleaner than the zen (hooks a bit later, so it has the energy to come around the corner harder), and a bit stronger (earlier) than the ruby.
I was throwing it with the ruby at today's demo. It's earlier but doesn't pop off the dry as hard. Really liked it for me. Wife needs the help and was throwing the exotic.
Same cover as the Exotic, but a weaker, symmetrical core instead of the big asym that the Gem series has.

Hey d tang I have a question I have a ball with a duel angle number layout 60° x 4-3/4" x 30° . It is strong but control. My question is what would these numbers be for the storm vector layout system

IMO the best thing you can get from a ball is predictability. If you know how it’s gonna roll and break, that’s all you need. My Rhino reactive pearl fits that bill. Last night I rolled seven strikes in a row. The only misses were my fault, not the ball’s fault.

It looks like playing a line I would play in league but, the fronts where I bowl is like screwed up after 1.5 games.

I know the core strengths & coverstocks vary some, but still. So many options. There’s definitely some overlap.

Hey darren, i just figured something out about my release and know im gonna have a hard time fixing it. I was getting a blister on the outside(back side) of my pinky and never knew why till last week. At the top of my back swing, my pinky ends up curling under the ball and putting all the pressure onto it. Any tips on NOT doing that 😂

I feel like that’s the most difficult thing as a newer bowler is learning how to read the lanes and transition appropriately. I bought a hustle camo for the burn. I thought being a weaker ball it would be more of a smooth motion but it does the complete opposite and rips off the dry harder then my aggressive bowling balls 😢
Weaker/stronger is mainly front to back so ripping off the dry should be a surface issue. Try bringing the surface up along with some polish on your Hustle Camo and that should help with what you’re looking for. I’ve really been playing with surface changes and they are massive.

@@glennallen6555 100%, surface should be pretty drastic, but if still needs that last bit of fine tuning to crush the pocket flush consistently with a smooth motion, then a weaker layout would correctly be the next step imo.

Darren, enjoy your videos. But if you are a lower skilled player, 168 average, and can’t afford to have 5000 bowling balls. What would you recommend for 1 or two balls if I mostly bowl league. I did bowl nationals for the first time this year and was about 6 pins below my average. Currently I have a 16 pound crux, and a 14 pound dark side both pin up.

Although I've been bowling for only a year, I watch your ball reviews to help me look for the things you see in your shots. I'll watch the videos multiple times, rewind and play several times during each play. But, going out there and doing it yourself, seeing your own shots is different. Not through a camera off set to the side, but at the line behind the ball.
Everyone bowls differently.

I don't have the money to buy every 3 month a new bowling ball, my oldest is a purple black tornado and a three years old bowling ball 😅😭
You can find good deals on balls that are a few years old (new in box) , saving $100 per ball. They still hit just as hard as they did 5 years ago!

Thanks for the explanation for all the “just move right people” it’s 2023 moving right is 99% the wrong move
If you take this advice without context you’ll miss the point. You don’t want to move right after the lane has broken down or you’ve made a ball change. Otherwise you may need to move right to get lined up on the fresh.
Correction: same cover as the Exotic Gem, not the Zen. Strong pearl cover, weaker symmetrical core.
Core is new, but based off the "Madcap" I think they called it.

idk if these get read but ive got a pretty unique question. so im blind but still have partial vision but i went bowling recently and it was pretty fun still i cant really see the pins its jsut a big white blob and cant see past the first set of lane markers. but i was playing around with the diffrent ally balls and found a 12 pound to be the msot comfortable and easiest the throw straight consistantly since i cant really aim to a set point to try and setup a curve. what type of ball do you think would be a good fit for someone like me who is just looking to throw a ball with power and basically as straight as possiable
