    Answering your one question about who directs what- whichever parts Han, Chan, and Changbin write and do the guide for, it's almost always that person who directs the recording for those lines. So when Changbin was rapping his part, Han came in to direct because he was the one who wrote the flow. I hope this made sense and didn't make it more confusing! I love watching you learn about everything! I subscribed as soon as I discovered your channel!

      Ooh yes it does, thank you so much!! I am still learning "technical terms" but it totally makes sense the people who wrote the sections would direct 🤯
      And oh my gosh thank you so much!! I'm so glad you're enjoying 🥰

      Wouldnt Changbin and Han often wrote their own parts? That would make way more sense. And in Hellavator for exampe they wrote their own, didnt they?

    • @gabriellecarroll5085

      @@alinasmith5737 they do write their own lines most of the time and in those times you can hear them listening to their own guides (for example the first recording session both Han and Changbin used their own guides for their raps) but they don’t always distribute the lyrics they write to themselves if that makes sense- more in the latest albums at least than before.. oh also (sorry this is kinda long haha) there are a lot of songs they completely wrote by themselves so sometimes they have zero involvement in lyrics and sing what they’re given

    I absolutely love your attentiveness and interest in delving into the process of what we are being shown! The way you didn't let a single detail pass by and even emphasized 3racha's work styles made me feel joy. Many people like to watch and only marvel at the vocals and raps, which is fine too, but they don't look into the details. You're absolutely right - Bangchan, as a producer, relies more on the technique of the song. He describes perfectly how any part should sound, gives the right advice, and tries to make sure that the singer's style doesn't differ too much from the guide. Changbin places great importance on the atmosphere of the song. He does not try to do everything exactly technically, it is more important to him to make all the lines fit the mood of the tune. He doesn't prompt the performance of his parts from the technical side - it's easier for him to perform the part himself to give an example, so that the singer understands how to take the right high note or low note. And Jisung, as you pointed out, has a very flexible mind and huge creativity. He is willing to change notes if it will emphasize the singer's attractive side and make it more comfortable for him to sing, without ruining the song. For example, that moment with Changbin. Yes, he didn't repeat the high note, but the idea itself remained the same - he "pulled" the last syllable and did it with a technique that would emphasize the strong side of Changbin's voice more, Han didn't try to make Changbin sound more like him, according to the guide, but gave him the freedom to sound cool in his own way. This is actually very surprising, because Han gives more freedom, but at the same time he never changes the final performance so that it doesn't match the guide at all. The end result is that the final material is similar to the guide, even if some points have been changed. And yes, Han doesn't have some sort of "plan" in his head like Bangchan does, and there's a fun fact about that: Han often forgets HIS own guides and lyrics. Sometimes he might ask Bangchan about a note he made himself in the song. When the guys were singing his song (secret secret) they asked Han if they were singing the right chorus and when Han started to prompt them and sing the right part himself, he started to ask indignantly "why is this song so hard?". When the guys responded by saying that he wrote the song, Han apologized and said that he didn't know that at the time 😂
    Thanks for the reaction!!! You are a very nice person, I had a cozy and fun time with you!

      Oh my goodness, I'm so happy you appreciate those details! Is things I can't help but notice but I'm always hyper-conscious of trying to analyze everything too much 🙈
      I love how you articulated how Changbin works though - that he is very "mood-oriented" with his producing, I think that's the perfect way of looking at it!
      Haha and OMG another Stay just commented something similar too and I think that's absolutely hilarious with Han and his guides and lyrics 😂 I feel like it's something that happens to a lot of creatives - sometimes the technical details get forgotten in lieu of the creative process 🤣
      But I'm so glad you enjoyed, I'm so grateful you're here! 🤗

      @@lifeofmorganp Oh wow, I didn't think you would respond and like my big comment. It's so sweet and so cool that you show your huge curiosity about everything related to skz. You really want to learn more and don't miss not only the details from any video, but also people's responses in the comments to learn more. It is always a great pleasure to watch reactions from such people 💗And sorry for the mistakes in my texts, actually English is not my native language, so I really hope I didn't make any too big mistakes :_)
      Guys love to call Han a genius because he never thinks about the right way to perform something or write. He just does it all. There's no plan. He writes a lyric in 2-3 hours - when you do the work so quickly, there's a huge chance that it will be erased from your memory faster, because you haven't been doing it for weeks, and you haven't just failed to memorize every detail because of frequent re-reading and thinking over the lyrics. I also remember when he was asked how he came up with the idea for Chill and what inspired him, to which he replied: "When I was writing that song, I was working on a lot of other lyrics at the same time, so I don't really remember how I felt when I was writing Chill. Seriously, I don't know, why I wrote this song? I really don't know what it's about." Later on he did remember the meaning of the song and told it on one of the shows xD It's both funny and amazing at the same time.

      @@mrs.phantom Of course!! I try my best to reply to every comment, although the CZcams comments management section makes it hard sometimes 😅 I'm so happy you're enjoying the reactions as much as I am having fun making them!! (And don't worry at all, I couldn't even tell English isn't your dominant language, you sound fantastic!)
      And I love that almost spontaneous nature to Han. I think he's so inherently talented and intuitive and he's really good at leaning into those skills as an idol/singer/dancer/writer/producer! I understand him more like that - when I work on something for too long I get exhausted by it! Haha, he's absolutely incredible and rightfully called a "Genuis"!

    i love recording content were we can see how 3racha works, they change who is directing because usually the person who write the part of the song is who direct that part, sometimes you see them talking to chan to confirm how it sounded because he is the one who arrange alone or in company with others producers, i love how they change approach with every member to make more easy the recording process

    • @lifeofmorganp
      @lifeofmorganp  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Ooh that makes so much more sense!! I sometimes forget there's three of them and they all each contribute specific lines and parts, it makes sense they would direct the ones they wrote!!

  • @trackhoodie1741
    @trackhoodie1741 Před 9 měsíci +4

    That idea of a member covering an entire song is pretty good. The closest we ever got to one was Han's short version of case 143 on a show with Lee Mujin.
    What I am curious about is the "guides" of their songs. In these recording videos, there are snippets of the skz members singing along to a guide that most always often consists of just 3racha's voices doing the entire song. I hope one day we get to see more of that content as well. Probably never going to happen though hahaa. Thanks for the reaction!
    Regarding who directs what part in the recording, to me it mostly looks like, whoever wrote that part, is the one directing that part.
    Lastly I know the other jyp staff there are working but having a blast too laughing at jokes such as Seungmin's sleep paralysis story with JYP. Also, rest in peace to the staff's ears every time Changbin starts yelling. lmao!

    • @lifeofmorganp
      @lifeofmorganp  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Ooh that's a good observation with recording parts being directed by those who wrote those specific lyrics!! I would love to see a more in-depth look at the guide process too...
      And ooh I need to go check out Han's Lee Mujin Case 143 😍😍
      Hehe and I love all the staff is just so fun with them too, def RIP everyone's eardrums 🤣🤣

      @jadefrog Před 8 měsíci

      I'm guessing (don't know for sure) that they also have someone else directing if they record parts they wrote themself, because you need an outside ear for objective feedback. You'll notice that no matter who is directing, if any of 3Racha are on mic, they'll do it over and over to get it just how they want.
      Also, Han records most of the guide vocals, he's mentioned that that's why he began working on his singing, because he'd hear himself on the guide and wince.

    I’ve just found your channel and I absolutely in love with your energy and your smile ❤
    My bias is also Lee Know so I relate to you so much finding him cute every second ahahah
    I agree with the other comments about how parts are related to producers😅
    English is not my first (and not even second 😂) language so I try hard to explain my thoughts.
    In fact I don’t think we can describe that elders help youngers. it’s their producer’s roles, i suppose, they are doing it because they know beforehand what they want for each part from each member they try to obtain that sound from members😂 it’s a little bit hard to explain.
    As I know they record a guide first, just 3racha for facilitate the work for others.
    About Han, yes, I agree but as I could notice in others intro videos he is more attentive and exact with his songs, I mean those he wrote like Chill for example.
    And I kinda agree with what you said about the way Chan explains everything in a different way to each member.
    I absolutely adore your long reactions and thoughts, sorry for mistakes and thank you !

      Hehe I love a fellow Lee Know bias and it's so good to know about the producers working on lines they wrote like everyone else was saying! It makes so much more sense that way 😅 I mean I would definitely want to be able to control more if I had more work put into specific parts or songs!
      Also I'm glad you enjoy the long videos! I am always afraid I talk too much 🙈 But I just love them so much it's so fun to go on and on! 💙

    24:27 Han having exact sound in mind? The man forgets he even wrote some songs. Very often forgets lyrics and even the melody and tones. There are multiple examples of him asking others how he sang something 🤣 Seungmin even commented how he needs to help Han all the time to figure out how high is the tone for Thunderous. Man has no idea how he even made the song, of course there is no specific sound on his mind 😄

    I don't feel like I need solo covers by each member, because Skz does such a good job of having various members repeat most lines in their own various styles on most of their songs, so you get to hear the different flavors and colors And they do fun stuff like having the vocal team cover the raps and the rap team cover the vocals during fan meets and so on. But if you really want to hear solos, check out the Skz Replay album, which is a lot of their older previously unreleased work, including some trios, duos etc. For that album, each member also wrote and recorded a solo just for the album, and in contrast to how they usually work, those solos were not produced by 3Racha. When you look on the credits for production on those new solos, each 3Racha member produced his own solo, and the other members worked with outside producers, like Seungmin worked with a producer who does a lot with Day 6 (his very favorite group). They keep trying new things.
    And no, it is not exactly normal for any group to be this insanely productive. There are probably a few other groups that keep putting out 2 albums plus various bonus releases every year, but not many, not even in kpop, which does have a lot of productive groups. In fact, there are a few groups that are famous for making fans wait years between releases. From what I've picked up, some of this has to do with the agency they are with, and with how much support that agency gives them. Skz is with the JYPE agency, which tends overall to have a lot of very productive artists. However, some of their artists don't get as much support and don't release as much (and some of those artists have left the company for that very reason). Some other companies don't seem to get their artists to release a lot, whether that is lack of support, lack of good music or production, or because of some policy, who knows. Certainly I've heard that YG, which was Blackpink's agency until very recently, tends not to get it's artists to release as much, and some Blackpink fans would grumble about how YG just didn't get them releasing much.
    On the other hand, some artists just have more to release--since Stray Kids is self-produced, and has a lot of support from the company, they can put out as much music as they can manage to make--which turns out to be a heck of a lot. I can imagine other artists with the same amount of company support who just didn't have that much music in them, or composed more slowly. It helps that they produce as a team of three, and seem to be very very good at collaborating with other artists and producers, which helps spread the load and allows them to get lots more done. They also seem to have great relationships with their support staff--managers, stylists, bodyguards, the folks who run the cameras for this type of behind the scenes content, etc. They give thanks and credit where it is due, and that really gets folks willing to go the extra kilometer for you. And people seem to like to work with them, several video directors have worked with them multiple times, same with the producers like Versachoi, Dallas K, and Hot Sauce.

      That's very ture, and I absolutely love getting to go through SKZ Replay, thank you for the recommendation! I haven't listened to everything yet, but everything I have heard has been incredible. It's so fun to get to see each member's talents more "close up" in a way!
      And ookay it makes sense Stray Kids are just crazy cranking out content because they self-produce haha. The agency totally makes sense though and especially considering all of the other people non-self-produced groups would have to rely on, that must be so hard for groups who want to be active and creating new things! We are so lucky with these boys but they have absolutely earned the right and the credit to have so much coming out!!
      Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing all of that info, I appreciate it!! (Even if it took a while to reply 🙈)
