Hi Lou how do I get you to review some of my cars???
Makes me miss my 78 magnum. Lots of people snub these cars but there's a ton of potential in the final B bodies. They're pretty and very comfortable. Fun fact; the cordoba was originally supposed to be a Plymouth but Chrysler thought they would be more profitable as a Chrysler.
You are %100 correct
Hi FUBAR Model Yard, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
There weren’t a lot of Magnums built and are a pretty rare sight these days.
@@todddenio3200 total production for 78-79 was 73194. Haven't seen one on the road in years
Nice to see the 75-79 B's get some love. In 76, there were 6007 Daytonas made, and another 5200 in 77. It was listed for the half year 78s but production is unknown.
Hi Adam, Happy to read you appreciate this car :-) Lou
Lou one thing I like about your show is that you feature cars that an average guy could hope to buy. This is a great looking car with a beautiful color combination and attractive body. It doesn't have a big block , four barrel, or power windows or seats but none of this detracts from this owner's pleasure of owning and driving this classic car.
I enjoyed this episode and was happy for the owner and the excitement he must have experienced being on your show.
Hi Bill, Happy to read you're enjoying the cars I feature. My pleasure sharing this car with you, and glad to read you enjoyed this episode :-) Lou
How that was even called a "Charger" (or Daytona) is a mystery ... a reflection of a rather bizarre (and disappointing) era in automotive history. Having said that, this is a gorgeous example and I'm thrilled it was kept and maintained from a historical perspective. So many of these odd cars never survived, but it's important to keep relevant examples for design context and automotive nostalgia.

Oh, my, Lou! Even though I am generally not a MOPAR fan as my family bought a horrific (then new) 1975 Dodge Dart that was the absolute worst car ever made. We sold it after 2 years of torture with 7500 miles on it. I am not exaggerating how bad it was - possibly wrecked as there was enough visual evidence of bad welds, wrinkled sheet metal, and a distinct lean toward the side of "impact". The car was roomy though the seats were worse than wooden church pews in comfort. The steering wheel was made to remove skin from your fingers and palms. I wouldn't even consider owning a MOPAR after that fiasco.
With that said, this car is beautiful even if it was the red-headed step child of MOPAR since it wasn't promoted by Riccardo.
Love the color and two time paint job! The interior is very nice and I can see a very similar (though nicer finish) of a 1971 Plymouth Satellite that we owned (a great experience that led to the Dodge disaster noted above).
I marvel that any mid 1970's MOPAR survives since the autoworkers who threw them together did so with less care than one can imagine. Quality was so hit and miss that you'd be lucky 10 times out of 100 to get a car that looked like it was built by a sighted, thinking person!
Thanks for sharing that vehicle! I know most don't go for the 1970's (and even 1980's cars), but I remember them as a child and young adult.
Hi ultraviolet tp, Happy to read this one brings MANY memories for you :-) You're welcome, Lou
The combination of the two colour grey and blue is absolutely amazing 😍
Happy to read you enjoy the colour combo on this car :-)
I really love the color combo on this Charger, and everything else about it, too! Sporty luxury is the best of both worlds, and I can tell Mr. White is proud of this one. Thanks, Lou!

I'd drive this car all day long! Thanks Lou!
Nice! You're welcome Brian SD.
My dad's cousin bought a new '76 Cordoba, maroon with a white top, powered by the Lean Burn 400. Kept it for 15 years; he and my dad commuted together to work with it a great many times. Damn solid and reliable transportation. He finally sold it in 1991and replaced it with a new Mercury Cougar, though he had hitherto been mostly a Chrysler guy from a Chrysler family. The Cordoba was in fact still running fine, but the body was really showing its age and increasingly getting rust. He sold it to a local guy who needed a work beater, and we'd still see it running around the area for a good while after. Probably long gone now but it certainly served well.
Hi AMCmachine, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads Cousins car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I been waiting for one of these to show up, there can't be many left. I only seen these in black and silver, and mostly with the turbine wheels and the 400 V8. Another one I am waiting on to show is the Dodge D100 warlock pickup this was a one year only package for 77 or 78, I was only 10 years old when it came out ,great video
Hi Elizabeth, Happy that this one showed up, Lou
Nice 75 Charger. Reminds me so much of my Dads 76 Chrysler Córdoba. Same body and interior with decals added. Even the motors are the same. Very handsome car they were. Only difference in the two cars is the tail lights and grilles. Great video as Always Lou. Keep the superb videos coming my friend!

What a Unicorn Lou. I love it 💙
Hi David, Happy to share this "Unicorn" with you :-) Lou
Hey big bro LOOOUUUU! Thanks for sending me this link, big brother. WHOOSH......WHOOSH......THWACK, THWACK!!! And my floppy sneakers fly past you and Steve there, stopping their forward momentum by hitting a couple of big oaks. Leaving me sprawled out 'n knocked out cold😵😵 in that super comfy blue buttoned puffy back seat, my limp stocking feet and calves hanging out the passenger side window as Ricardo Montalban (of Chrysler Cordoba fame) looks from heaven with a big grin and Steve ties my sneakers to the rearview mirror with whatever little laces they got 🤣😂lol! I love how you feature these obscure, rare cars, along with the icons everyone knows, Lou. I feel it's so awesome to see these cars that are lovingly kept intact as a kind of time machine. Sure it may be a "package" at this point, but it kept that name alive in a time when the "powers that be" were choking the life out of muscle cars (as they are now), you know? So maybe it's a lil' "wink, wink" but it still gets a good-natured and agreeable blue-collar, lightweight, chick crazy JV baseball guy like me to lose his sneakers (and knocks me out😵, too. Which is admittedly easy on both counts 🤣lol). Love the color, the bit of a rumble out back, how it still makes ya feel like a kid ;). Oh yes. Thanks for this big bro, JV Johnny ⚾
Hey JV Johnny, TIMBER! 1975 Robin Yount just getting started. You're right, cars make me feel like a kid again :-) You're welcome. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
75 wasn't great for performance, but in ten years I bet their price soars . I allways liked their style and they look great with nice tires and rims! Another odd-ball selection Lou and again you hit it out of the park! Keep'em coming!
Hi Eric, Happy to read your comment on this car :-) Glad you're enjoying the selection of cars I share, Lou
Hey, Lou, You did it again !!! Finding the strangest stuff out there !!! I love it !!! As a Mopar historian, I give you credit . Ya , the strongest sales at that time, ' 75 were the Monte Carlos . And chrysler wanted a piece of that . Obviously it shows. The only thing the owner of that daytona could do, is compliment it with it's sister car . The 1975 Plymouth ROADRUNNER !!! I loved that RR . So strange of car . My brother in law owned a'75 daytona. Loved it .
Hey Jim, Happy to read "I love it !!!" :-) Lou
Great car!!! It may not be the car one would think of when you hear Daytona Charger, but it is a Charger Daytona. I like it!!! The paint combination looks good and with a 360 under the hood I'm sure it moves pretty hood for a car from the mid 70s and it sure did sound nice. It looks like that car would be a very comfortable cruiser and could hold it's own against other cars from that era.
A very unique and cool car!!!
Hi Hobiemarty, Happy to read you enjoy this "Great car!!!" :-) Lou

Actually a nice car.
First blush, Shultz "Very interesting, but..."
Next, a car buff ('71 El Camino, '70 Z-28, both super nice) i had as a neighbor.
Whether guitar related or anything, skeptical, "I dunno, man"
Car is pretty cool.
Heck , a friend i had in HS graduated same year as me in '75.
First car, sorta gift ? A Cordoba. like, Huh??? He loved it.
Nice work once again, Lou !!
a little, btw. My Dad worked at a factory full time but also moonlighted at a friend's garage during the weekends, minor repairs and tune ups,,,,first i knew was when i was 8 in '65.
Few years later, he's complaining about 'small controls'. Nope, smog.
He hated them then. He just tried to make them work. Only got worse.

Nice looking car....but after 73, performance usually meant High Performance decals....lol. An exception was the Trans AM Firebird , which lasted a couple more years, and that was probably the last car with some ....Umph...
Mopar did attempt to bypass the rules and came out with a performance 360 powered Pick Up , called the Little Red Truck....anyone remember those?

Very cool car! They were built at the Windsor Ontario plant.
I’ve been a Challenger fanatic since I was a teen, still own my first car, a T/A!
But I bought a Magnum GT last year and I think it gets more attention at shows and cruises than any of my Challengers have. I’m having a lot of fun with it, it’s cool having a unicorn!
Check it out at MCACN in November in the malaise era muscle display.

Used a see a Magnum in my neighborhood and a local cop also had a '79 Chrysler 300, white with the red and blue striping. We lived near the police station and I would see it parked around in the '80s and '90s.

My sister had a 78 Cordoba early 80s. Didn’t like ‘em back then but love the styling now. (And for some reason always come across them for sale). I didn’t realize their was a Charger built along side as 75 was the first year. But as a kid I loved the Magnum because of those headlights. I thought that was so cool for a 70s car.
Hi Offthbadan, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Sisters car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I think you seeing a bunch for sale is the universe sending you a message.
Although very rare, all us Mopar guy’s look at this car with a tear in our eyes, that the once mighty Daytona would be packaged on what was really a Cordoba by Chrysler. To me, it was the beginning of the end of a once glorious American car manufacturer. Sad to see this one Lou!
Hi David, Well said, and clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
I laughed when he said he was looking for the Wing spoiler My girlfriend later 70's had one of these with the 360-2bbl automatic console and she paid a lot to have one molded on in the darker blue of the two tone paint 😅 Oh boy it did stand out from the rest of the crowd but I preferred it without. Just didn't look natural I guess! Strange by early 78' they the "charger" was still listed as available but it said N/A on amount made. Everything else became the dodge Magnum. Great video well done 👍

Nice :-)
I remember seeing a fair amount of Cordobas and very few Chargers back in the day. Doubt I ever saw one of these Daytonas. They were sporty, but definitely more lixurious than sporty. They did after all fall into the personal luxury car category after all. In the mid 70s only the Camaro, Firebird and Corvette were sports cars unless you put up a lot more money for a Porsche or some other expensive European car. And they were definitely a lot more money.

This car is super rare and just an amazingly beautiful car. The only complaint that i have is that some items have been added that weren't on the original car(or window sticker) that i think detrack from the car's originality. The steering wheel, road wheels and some other bits have been changed and for me that's a deal breaker. It's not my car so do what they will. But with a car sooooo rare as this, modifying it ruins the car in my opinion.
