Tbh, I wasn't a fan of the Groke myself at first, but after watching the Lady of the Cold episode from the 90s and seeing that even the Groke is afraid of her, that made the Groke seem more human. So, she's not so bad; she's just... chilly (literally)

@@blllklbn4055I love the 90s moomins, don’t get me wrong, but something about this one makes it feel like it’s giving you a big warm hug. I love how the characters have depth and character development, especially moomin and Snufkin. I also love how the songs mean so much towards the story and moomins feelings! It feels nice :>

I think this opening is paying homage to The Moomins and the Great Flood? I haven't read that one yet, but I did read somewhere that one of the events is the Moominhouse getting swept away by the titular flood and landing in what becomes known as Moominvalley.
I find that to be a VERY nice touch, referencing it here.
Yeah it only dawned on me recently, it's pretty neat :)
This opening is so lovely. I'll make sure to remember this video so I can go back to it and chill. :)
I just realized the intro is supposed to be a very quick retelling of the first book "The Moomins and the Great Flood".

100% Agree their basically different songs right? This has that sort of whistfull longing sad/happy feeling to it and the other one with vocals is just a pop song.

I cried, not gonna lie.
Moominhouse has a garbage foundation if it floats away that easily lol. Otherwise I love it and I can't wait until it either comes to America or a streaming service like Netflix
It does float away in the first book, but after that, it was retcond to have been built with a VERY sturdy foundation (ignoring the fact that it FLOATED to its current location, and wasn't built there). Thus it doesn't float away during the flood that leads them to temporarily live in the theater.
Well, it was a part of the Oshun Oxtra, a boat, so it was expected for it to float
I think that Cartoon Saloon should work on a Moominvally film. (The studio that worked on Wolfwalkers, The Secret of Kells, etc.)
All of their films have a certian calm, comforting, and uniqe theme that reminds me of Moominvally.

This is probably the only reboot of a European (or Japanese) cartoon in computer animation that is liked. (Maybe I'm wrong?)
Well that is really specific, but in a more general way, there are other reboots and comebacks of series that really well made
