Let's hang out on Twitter! / davidpwolfe
This is gonna be a KILLER live song. These songs will have a whole vibe in concert, for sure
for sure!
Look online.
This is definitely one of their weirder ones but I love it. The way Hayley speaks in the verses reminds me of monster mash lol
lol i can hear it!
Major post punk vibes, in terms of repetition...
Just keeps hammering the chorus into your head until you end up liking it.
And just like with most other post punk songs, it worked like a charm.
Love the new directions they're exploring.
Glad to see someone else who really like it. I think it's a really smart, well-thought out song. It's way different, but there's so many pieces that bring it together. I really appreciate them putting out a new sound regardless of the musical trends right now.
Yeah, Im just grateful for good music!
the title being “it is what it is” just pulls it all together. too relatable
for sure!
I fuckin love it and can relate to an embarrassing level lol
we all can! lol
I think it’s a fun catchy song. And sometimes people going through a dark time mentally repeat a phrase a lot so I get the chorus. I also feel like this might be a prelude to another song on the album which would be awesome.
this one is their weirdest song ever. it's like an "acquired taste" is needed to enjoy it lol.
Agreed, I initially wasn't a fan of the spoken verses, but its grown on me, still less fond of the verses but it's lyrically cool and musically interesting enough that I think it's pretty cool
@@LiableFilm and the nanannananaa is such an earworm it stucked on my head annoyingly but it's vibing good so idk i love it haha
just realized that the This Is Why album is beggining to be about mental disorders
example is This is why which is about anxiety
And I guess the news is about how our mental is heavily negatively impacted by... the news.
It definitely seems like it could be!
Thank you for getting me to warm to this song. I’ve been depressed since the song dropped because I’ve never hated a paramore song until when I first heard this song. You’re bringing me back to my senses I can’t hate on a paramore song lol but it’ll never be a favorite. I’m honestly bummed because if you listen to the instrumental, Hayley could’ve made such a beautiful melody over the great guitar riff and stellar drums. It’s sad when Hayley doesn’t sing lol
Yeah I was so shocked when I first heard it, and I say that as someone that was not surprised by any of their other stuff when everyone else seemed to be.
But it's definitely grown on to me and I really like the meaning behind it, the chorus and the part where she screams disorder are definitely my favorite.
I understand why they made this stylistic choice, though for the verses and I like it, it's just not my favorite parts.
Glad I could provide a positive perspective for you!
Tbh I feel the opposite, this is such a perfect 70’s punk inspired song and literally one of my fave paramore songs ever now
I tend to agree and I usually trust my first instinct on a song. I gave up on The News and this one doesn't have me pushing repeat either. You can appreciate the craft they put into this number but you can't force yourself to like a song. It's hard to tell what influences Hayley is drawing from but she's not playing to her strength and the songs are falling flat. She needs to get Zac and Halfnoise involved more with her vocals hehe
this song has grown on me the more that i've listened to it, but like a lot of people it's not my favorite--however i tend to be kind of opposite from other people in that i LOVE the spoken word verses, i wish this song had more of it. i actually don't like the chanty chorus at all. i don't mind repetition, but i'm unfortunately not a fan of the melody for it.
Same feeling, I love the spoken word but the samey chorus takes me out of it
interesting!
I LOV THIS SONG
That song is a new level even if the style is 2000 Indie rock.
Banquet by Paramore? Love it.
Thanks for this reaction! )
Anytime!
thanks
I feel like they've been listening to a lot of British indie/alt rock during the pandemic
For sure!
They did say they were influenced by Bloc Party for this album
I love it .
This song reminds me of the yeah yeah yeahs
I can see that!
🧡🧡🧡
I had to come watch a reaction because this is the first ever Paramore song that I don’t like 😢
Musically I love what I am hearing, but really not into the vocal melodies and lyrics. I feel this way about all 3 songs that we have received. I am almost finding them to be a little lazy lyrically 💔 am I just crazy and wrong?
Paramore has been my favorite band for the last 15 years and I am starting to worry that I won’t like this album.
It's ok, not everyone is going to like everything. Hopefully there will be something you really enjoy on the album!
It's not your imagination. The music is still top notch but the well may be drying up for Hayley. Her solo record beats what I've heard so far with the singles vocally.
The music isn't half bad and I'll give them props for not playing it safe this late into their career. I don't quite completely understand Haley's vocal approach still. The lyrics sound like they came from her last session with a therapist. They could've just left the chorus carry the entire song and just left out the verses and this song would be just as good or better.
Idk why but the spoken word gives very Rocky Horror vibes to me
I’ve seen mixed reviews on this song but for me I genuinely think it’s Paramores worst ever song
I’m so disappointed in this song. It’s literally the only paramore song I’ve never liked.
I wish the verses were sung, wouldve sounded a lot better
Nah. I think it’s perfect.
Radiohead???? I don't think so dude.
I mean like stuff off of "In Rainbows" specifically.
