NASCAR Sonoma 2024: Denny Hamlin’s Engine Blows Up on Lap 3!

Highlights from the 2024 Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
In this video, I catch the moment Denny Hamlin’s engine blows up in his #11 car from the main grandstand. Initially, I thought he hit the wall, which was causing tire-rub/car damage smoke. But as the smoke got worse and came from the exhaust pipes, we realized it was a blown engine.
Hamlin came across the start/finish line to complete just the second lap of the race when something under the hood went wrong, and caused a blown engine. This resulted in an early DNF for Hamlin, finishing in last place (38th). Tough break for him as it was only the 3rd lap of the race, only for a freak engine failure to occur and end his race before it really even began.
