Thanks for the kind words, Gents. We're quite proud of our Cask Strength and just started submitting it for awards. It recently received a Double Gold from The Fifty Best and a Silver from the NY International Spirit Competition. We hope your followers will come pay us a visit next time they are in the Litchfield area. Cheers!

So happy for Litchfield to get this great review! I have not yet made it there but hope to come out soon. As my own October birthday gift, I bought 7 bottles today from Scotland to Japan, selected based on recommendations such as this CZcams. Manchester Total Wine and More, Jeffrey recommended the last bottle they had of your Select Port Cask, so I am now a proud owner. Unopened, I do believe Santa will be wrapping that for me for 12/25!!

Michigander here. Traverse City is, in fact, at the end of the ring finger of the Mitten that is Michigan.
Glad to hear you liked TC's stuff! Michigan may not be a "hotbed of whiskey making," but it is a hot bed of craft breweries, wineries, and now distilleries, and it is definitely worth the trip! Just, in the summer, unless Rex wants to see snow (a LOT of it). Cheers to Rex being better traveled!

I think a really cool thing you could keep around the distillery for visitors would be a few bottles of one thing proofed down to a couple different levels. So if you get someone in who is not up for cask strength, you can say "okay, here's something we bottled at 40%". Then if they like it you can say "Want to see what happens when we turn that up to 45%?" then maybe 50% and cask strength. It would be a cool way to see where some people land with a preferred proof...like slowly watering down the cask strength stuff, but in reverse so you build your palate up to it.

Hi Daniel and Rex! Have you ever tried the Woodford Reserve Master Class Maple Wood Finish? Truly one of the best bourbons ever! It came out in 2010 and I'm on a mission to find a bottle now (fruitless though it may be). It is aged in the normal white oak casks and then placed in maple wood casks for a finishing period. The Cherry Wood Smoked Barley vintage that was released by Woodford this year is also great, it's a bourbon with a Scotch influence. The mash-bill is 70% corn and 30% malted barley. The barley was smoked with cherry wood during the kilning process. Definitely a bourbon that fans of single malts would enjoy!

Hello there poor mans Ragnar Lothbrok and Flokis mentally challenged cousin! I just ended a month long binge watch of whisk(e)y vault episodes and finally made it! Thanks to you guys i have spend a handsome amount of money on whisky this year. Right now my cabinet holds these bottles: Pike Creek, Lot 40, Jameson, Green spot, Redbreast 12, Bulleit bourbon, Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey 101, Michters bourbon, Four Roses single barrel, Black Bottle, Monkey Shoulder, Naked Grouse, Scallywag 13, Wolfburn, Glenmorangie Original 10, Fettercairn Fior, Talisker 10, Glenlivet Nadurra Peated, Ardbeg 10 and Ailsa Bay. I have already destroyed: Cardhu 12, Monkey Shoulder, Buffalo Trace, Naked Grouse, Dalmore Vintage 2006, Makers Mark, Highland park 12 Viking Honour, Black bottle, Graigellachie 13, Johnnie Walker Black, Laphroaig Quarter Cask and Jameson. My 10+ years dry phase ended and im back on whisky...and it is GLORIOUS! Just tonight I took Fettercairn Fior and Glenlivet Nadurra Peated and sipped them during a movie and decided to blend them 1:1. OMG that was amazing! Absolutely amazing videos, so last night as I had a selection of whiskies to try with my girlfriend we watched the videos to the same as we were trying, and a few extra videos to space out the whisky xD. One of the videos commented about storing the whisky upright so it doesn't damage the cork, I was wondering how big of an issue this really is? Currently a few of my bottles are in a wine rack and although I like to enjoy a dram along with your videos I'm worried if the effect might be substantial and I've been ruining my whisky.
