The time-traveling Dr. Wily and his mechanical minions are on the loose and Mega Man has to stop them! In Mega Man: The Wily Wars, you play through the original three Mega Man titles remastered for the original SEGA Genesis®/Mega Drive.
For this release, our programmers were able to make some improvements to areas of the game where slowdown can be problematic. This version includes:
- Optimized certain functions to reduce slowdowns such as sprite processing and collision processing during gameplay.
- Yellow Devil MK2 contains new function programming for drawing sprites which reduces slowdown.
- Added a code to toggle the score display for boss battles in Mega Man 1. Without the score display, some additional slowdown can be alleviated.
All other areas of the game have been left untouched from the original.
Stay up to date with all of our releases!

Would have been neat to see them dabble with ym2612 chip music like the fan made sequel wars but this is still really cool
That's absolutely awesome. Great improvement there. So pleased I've pre-ordered it.
I was originally on the fence about this but you guys have done such an amazing job I'm so happy to have it.
The version on the Genesis/Mega Drive Mini has even less slowdown than both of these. :)
True! That is because it is able to use the full power of the Mini's modern processor. Our programmers were able to do this with crafty coding on cartridges for the original consoles. :)
@@RetroBitGaming And that is great. Maybe if the stars align you can give a few other games, that suffered from heavy slowdown, the same treatment. :D
Super Ghouls N Ghosts comes to mind.
However that game probably isn't rare and coveted to get a special re-release.
@@VaiCloud
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 aren't rare either and yet they got re-released.
Same with Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X
@@VaiCloud there's a hacked version of Super Ghouls & Ghosts that you can play on original hardware with a flashcart.
Very nice video. This feature help a lot.
It may just not be visible in the footage, but is the points system removed? It appears on the left but not on the right.
Hello,
No, the scoring system isn't removed. By default, it is just hidden during boss encounters. It still appears during gameplay and your score will still tally at the end of each stage.
@@RetroBitGaming Oh cool, thanks for the response
Can you shoot lightning at the yellow devil and pause a bunch during to make the same attack hit over and over? Nes edition?
Hello,
No, this was a glitch that was corrected by Capcom in the original release of MMWW.
@@RetroBitGaming how different is this from the edition on the SEGA Genesis mini?
@@davidroberts3262The Genesis Mini takes full advantage of the extra processing to fix more slowdown beyond what Retrobit could do on a physical cart
@@angelriverasantana7755 Really? that's very interesting. I didn't even try it on my Mini.
My main grippe above EVERYTHING else is the unexplainable way Megaman get stuck on the ground every single time you start moving or change direction. It's mind-boggling. Taping the Dpad makes him basically moondance lol!
I guess it wasn't fixed for the Mini version eh?
I just finished the RetroBit version with an unmodded Nomad. It was fun :D (and frustrating hehe).
Digital versions of games aside, this is actually the very 1st time I pre-order a game, I hope everything goes well (pre-ordered it on Limited Run Games).
Release Day??!!
Is this region free
This Rocks, Man!
Pog
Where is all the blast processing?
In the 90s.
