    I agree with all comments and the message. We heard that Min. Osinachi was removed by her mom from her matrimonial home for some months at one point but still decided to go back against her mom's advice. If true, 2 thoughts come to mind in the light of that which I haven't heard yet but hope u can spread as well:
    - African faith women sometime "idolize" so much the "husband" concept that it has turned into an obsession. Something is deeply wrong when u can sacrifice even your kids to such an evil man. I know women who have shut their eyes to their husband's defiling their daughter due to "husband idolatry" or even told their daughter to close their eyes to their own husband's blatant cheating due to the same idolatry. Beware... a very subtle but evil belief in church with the "appearance of godliness" and yet we criticize Catholics, their rosaries and precious statues for the same thing...
    - there is also a problem where there is a strong soul tie that is built between an aggressor and his victim of co-dependency. The victim or martyr becomes addicted to being back near her/his aggressor and can no longer reason well by herself in which case, others must take action on her/his behalf and laws should be erected for authorities to step in in such cases without needing the victim's statement. Families should be empowered to take over in such cases. Therefore it is not love but an emotional imbalance of dependency that cause them to keep going back.
    My 2 cents.

      I was a victim, you are on point on this,thanks to God Almighty that delivered me.
      It was when I was meditating and praying that this idea was revealed to me. I got to to realize I was giving a man the love I supposed to give Jesus Christ my Saviour who died for me.
      Everything about me then was husband welfare which was obsession.
      May God Almighty open victim eyes and deliver them

      I agree with you sister.
      I also wanted to add that I’ve had a person tell me she held on to an abusing relationship because she didn’t want to seem that she was losing, to some degree the victims also end up victimizing themselves. And that’s one of many rare conversations us women need to have amongst ourselves, sometimes it’s not love that’s keeping us there, it’s pride, ego and even ignorance. I say this humbly because I’m a woman and I’ve heard many stories where it could’ve been prevented…It takes a long time before the victim can be broken down to the mindset of feeling that they have no choice, opportunities always present themselves to see an abuser for who they are, asking questions is important and holding the person you’re interested in accountable to their actions. My advice is for women to not turn blind eye, stay due to fear of what people will say…”it’s better to be safe than sorry.” When it comes to Christian woman (I’m a Christian), it grieves me to see them subject themselves to unhealthy environment in the name of religion, this shows an aspect of how well we’re connected to God which is not enough if you cannot heed to your Heavenly Father’s wisdom when you’re in a compromising circumstance(s), also before even getting into that marriage what has God told you about the person of interest? It’s so important to hear from God in every area of life, it’s always a life and death situation. This is VITAL!

      Yeah... but please this is a very small percentage, in general it ends badly as long as the man is not challenged and dealt with more harshly. So let's not encourage these returns without accountability. And you can never know if things are better with your aunt as women can hide pain for a long time... Can you tell us what caused her husband to change? Someone doesn't just change such behavior from sheer willpower unless something specific cured their aggressivity. Beside the fact that she prayed, what happened exactly so we know how to help others achieve the same results. For late Minister Osinachi, her own pastors only heard about it after her death, these things are normally hard to discover. Shalom.

  • @sunnyhunn9315
    @sunnyhunn9315 Před 2 lety +13

    I love the perspective of this! I know a lot of people are saying to refrain from victim shaming but it’s important to point out the errors of the victim (that’s not shaming, it’ll help someone who can relate), to help those who are in the same situation to learn from the unfortunate outcome so they themselves that are alive can gather strength to exit a marriage that’s tortuous and depleting. I also notice there are those that are even blaming the church, which makes no sense because there are many Christian content out there to help us make the right decisions before marriage and even during marriage, there are genuine leadership that are holding us accountable, I understand there are bad apples but the church as a whole cannot carry the blame for the outcome of our personal choices. I personally know friends who chose to stay in abusive relationships, they preferred to distance themselves from me than to listen to me when it opposed their desires. I’ve lost not one or two friends but many friends to ungodly relationships, God gave me dreams to warn them, I’ve cried my guts out on their behalf through intercession only for them to not have the same passion for their own safety because what they wanted meant more to them than wisdom, it’s a selfish attitude to have quite frankly, having to watch someone you love and care for go through hell in a relationship or having that person die while you weren’t aware of the degree of their mistreatments because they were good at concealing their abuser, it’s gut wrenching feeling as though you could’ve done something to help them given the opportunity…
    There’s a point where it must become a personal choice for the victim to desire freedom, if they don’t acknowledge they’re bound they’ll never make the effort to seek safety because they don’t see it or feel it to be as dangerous as it actually is. It’s sad to say the least (by this point something is broken in them that they don’t even realize it’s damaging to their life and fo even those around them)…GOD HELP US!

    • @insidiarlimited3191
      @insidiarlimited3191 Před 2 lety +5

      Thank you so much for this, I agree totally. I have equally lost 2 relatives to domestic violence, all in the name of staying in marriage. One of them never told people and when anyone finds out, she begs them not to tell her relatives.
      Why- It won’t be in her own marriage that people will suddenly hear something is wrong, according to her. She paid with her life unfortunately.
      God help us and deliver women especially from this stronghold they have and impression they try to make.
      Like you said, the Church has enough content for anyone before and after marriage.
      Very key for me however, is building & having an intimate relationship with your Father God. Read your Bible yourself not just what you heard in church. Be like the Berean Christians, who went back to check the WORD for themselves. Selah

    • @sunnyhunn9315
      @sunnyhunn9315 Před 2 lety +2

      @@insidiarlimited3191 You’re making so much sense. It’s usually not love alone that’s keeping the person there, it’s ego, pride, ignorance…And I say this humbly but the truth must be said so we can examine our hearts as to what is appealing in staying in a circumstance/marriage where you’re being kicked, slapped, spit on, chairs are being broken on your body. Saying you’re staying for the children only expose them to witness you be a day closer to your death, they are witnessing behaviors that’ll deploy them into the same pattern, it’s a logic that cannot be justified. In the case of our beloved minister who unfortunately passed away, the abuser instructed her children to beat her…What conclusion can a victim draw from this? It should be an exit plan, imparting violence to the children towards their mother is despicable. Alas!
      I think this is a new conversation we women can have amongst ourselves. It’ll be preventative, to help us examine our hearts and mindset so we can be in a better condition before entering a marriage, because it’ll give you as the woman an advantage to choose well.

I couldn't sleep because I was hungry when I got up and went downstairs he was coming into the house from the garage. He had knocked a hornets nest down off the edge of the house and had it leaning up against the house, he soaked it with gasoline and lit it on fire catching the back wall of the house on fire.
    Family members thought I should stay with him and worked it out and I wasn't having anything to do with trying to work things out with him. Thank you winlos for this wonderful drama. In as much as I don't support divorce I encourage separation in an abusive marriage. This will sound a note of warning to so many of still single to wait on God and follow His leading when saying yes to the young man. It also very important that we don't ignore the signs that the Holy Spirit is showing us during courtship because those signs shows who they really are. We should stop making choice of marriage by what we see but allow the Holy Spirit to lead us because He sees our end before our beginning.
    Don't be desperate about marriage but desperation will be cloud your sense of judgment.
    Follow God and listen to the godly mentors God has placed over you and you won't enter into destruction.

    I was once in this situation,But to God Be The Glory,the same plans my husband had to kill our children in front of me Saints of GOD I went into a full fast and PRAY without stopping and The Lord Jesus Christ made A Way for peace for me,I didn't understand the Work of GOD for years after he died I cried and cried mist him so much ,left with 3 children ,no job and a. falling down house , not a penny and rejection from all family and friends, relatives.But Jesus Christ bought us out . There's nothing like Fasting and Praying .It took me Years to realize that was the Hands of GOD.For those who feei they can't or afraid to get out look to GOD

    Always pray for God's will in marriage and before you can know God's will in marriage, you need to first of all give your life to Christ before you can know God's will in marriage.

    The Apostle Paul clearly states what love is and the responsibilities of a husband, if your own doesn’t fit that description… go and pray.
    And separation isn’t divorce, believers separate and keep praying for their spouse.
    Don’t let yourself be indoctrinated by falsehoods, if you can’t leave for yourself, think of the unseen scars being inflicted on your children.

      Getting killed as a result of a helpless woman in self defence most times, draw closer to those women who murdered their husbands and hear their stories, you will understand what women go through in the name of marriage

    Yes God hates divorce but it’s better for you to be alive and tell the story than be silent in the grave. It’s time the government in Africa starts fining those abusive partners. 🤦🏾‍♀️
