I'm just back from a sketching trip so your video caught my eye. You bring quite the assortment of pencils. I make due with one mechanical HB in .05 and a stick eraser. I also bring two fountain pens and a micron in sepia. Yet, each artist is different and feels comfortable with a different set of tools. I always enjoy seeing what others pack to sketch and paint on the go. Good luck with your future art and happy painting.

I had too, drop everything, run to the garage and make a copy of your Father's Travel Art case/tripod/table thing!!! Hope he doesn't mind. Made mine from scrap wood, laying around.
I literally bought an old tripod, a few months ago for my little Canon Camera...used it Once.
So I didn't have to buy a THING. everything needed was in the garage...thanks to my husband😘
I am SO, SO HAPPY, with the idea/results.
We travel, quite a bit for different things. I have all my Art essentials in a canvas bag, just the right size. Now, with this... I'm unstoppable 😁

Hi Jess, loved this video! I like to take a clear alcohol marker with me as well, because it creates nice gradients and subtle shading if you use it on top of biro. Works especially well with purple ink! Also love the Koh-i-Nor dual-ended red and blue coloured pencil for sketching and duo tone illustrations, a tiny Bic dip pen for really thin lines, some lovely slim scissors from Muji, and good old washi tape.

That's exactly my problem, although I do occasionally go in a quiet or private spot or just on my balcony. I love being able ro paint outside innthe summer. This vacation I wasn't able to paint much because there were other people staying in the same location as we did, so it was hard to find some privacy. The ones who are not into art don't always understand the process, so if you are not a great artist to amaze them like Jess here, they tend to have a strange attitude. I prefer not to have to explain why my leaves are blue and so on.

Thank you for this Jess, it was super helpful! Did you purchase the synthetic or natural sable option of the fuumuui travel brushes?

Hey thanks a lot for the advice. Do you have a preferred choice for an easel?

Thanks for this, it was very informative. I've been thinking of purchasing a Winsor and Newton watercolour field box set and know that it comes with a few colours I wouldn't use. I would be really interested in knowing what 14 pigments you chose to put into the box set? I've just subscribed to your channel. Thanks again 🙂

I currently started an ink only sketchbook (black and white) so as to keep it simple. I just take 4-5 pens with me. Uni pin.
