Remove alimony and trust me most of these so called independent women will start fearing divorce. The thing is a woman can initiate divorce and only have something to win out of it, but a man have to face severe financial and social consequences for the same.

I personally think that alimony is unnecessary if u don't have a child..If u have a child,both parents should contribute equally..But for this to happen,women need to be financially independent
@@KoushaniS many are but they still ask for alimony and maintenance. I am not against alimony for Women who have sacrificed their carrer for family but if she is working while in marriage then she don't deserve any alimony.

If a woman earns more than her husband, she has to pay alimony to him.

For two months this lady has gone on and on talking about her new film--and her divorce.
She has acknowkedged that Aamir has been instrumental in playing a big part in her film career. She too has done her part in his career after their late 2005 marriage.

Through her Laapata Ladies interviews and media interactions, looks confident and great at 50. Must be partly due to a happy state of mind, her film turning out well.
The only thing that saddens me is her constant talk of being independent and now, general talk of being stifled So her marriage had little value? Indians place great value on a good marriage. Modern liberal Indians are not against divorce in an unhappy marriage -- but if both partners are liberals, a marriage can be made to work, with the woman's independence not being compromised.
I used to be a member of Aamir's blog 2007-11. The couple were devastated when Kiran lost a child late in pregnancy. Aamir confided that he was taking her to France for a month, to help her get over trauma. A few pics appoeared of them at some rural retreat through a month.
Femina, a popular magazine from print times, in a cover story done fifteen years back had referred to Aamir as a feminist. He IS one.
He has helped her launch her first film
And as per Anupama Chopra in a recent LL related interview with Kiran -- he asked Anupama privately to release Kiran from Mumbai film festival duties so that she could concentrate on her scriptwriting .
They have contributed to each other's careers, lives.
And they did make a great couple, from what one saw in media.
But whatever happened later-- they are said to be raising their son together, living close enough to meet up and be a family.
Just STOP with the divorce stories, Kiran.
I hope she moves on from Aamir and finds somebody to love. ❤ She has a lot to offer…it would be a shame if she stayed single.

Aamir has never been seen with that younger actress in public. She was not even invited to the Ira marriage.
Kiran and Aamir both have had a good twenty years together. I feel she needs to stop talking about their divorce. They are still family, taking holidays together, being there professionally and personally.

See all this is rubbish. I respect her if her reason were actually but all these things that you said was every woman is doing skillfully . This is a part of life that every female go through but making it burden kinda thing on women is wrong. And not only woman but men also have responsibilities to fulfill more financially but he is also responsible. In marriage both are responsible for their duties if you think female are more then we can take it that much. And our middlclass woman are the supper women.
This is the logic, ki log doctor bann rhe toh beta tum kyun nhi, some ppl are meant to function in a different way, some people can be better painters than doctors. Similarly she found it difficult to function with the added responsibilities of a 'super' woman, and found her peace in it, good for her, you find it easy to be a doctor and a 'superwoman' , good for you. Why to discard someone's reasons as rubbish. If someone can function Without the added burden or responsibilities we could just let them be.
